Does anybody have the word count for each CS book including Mystery and Rosalie?

Is this something which the transcripts alluded to elsewhere in the board could you be used t o ascertain by a simple word count function? I've never seen these transcripts, but another question I would ask about them is whether you can use them to perhaps count the amount of times certain words are used (or other stylistic questions).

I’m wondering if the 3 hardbacks that were split into 2 in paperback were the longest books.

I can’t find my copy of Prefects. I think it’s in storage. Does anybody know which were the longest of the CS books and which were the shortest?

I have a list somewhere which I compiled when writing my fill ins - there was a long debate about what was “the right” word count / number of chapters / chapter length to be authentically EBD...

The longest ones are some of the very earliest set in Tyrol - I seem to remember Head Girl being a bit of a giant - and the classic mid period books like Exile and Highland Twins. Those are topping 80,000 words.

Camp I remember as being particularly short, maybe 55,000 words?

Your typical EBD is in the region of 65-70,000 words, maybe 20 or so chapters, around 3000 words per chapter. But, they do vary quite considerably.

I think I had a graph showing the variation through the series...
