One of the joys of reading fanfiction is someone sharing with you a story that you haven't seen before that fills your tiny heart with glee. Please post to this thread to recommend a fic you've particularly enjoyed. Some guidelines:

(i) The fic must be related to the Chalet School, CBB, or other EBD work.

(ii) The fic must be freely accessible on the internet (no locked posts!), but can be from anywhere, not just the archives or SDL.

(iii) Ideally, it should be complete; if a work in progress, it should be enjoyable as it stands.

(iv) Please, please, please do not rec your chum's fic because you think that would be nice; use some discrimination and only rec something which you genuinely feel is an excellent piece of writing.

(v) Do not rec something which has already been recced (and that includes reccing different parts of the same fic).

(vi) Please use this format:

Title: title
Author:
Length: [short (<1000 words) | medium | long (many, many, many words and/or parts)]
Period:
Characters:
Why I Think This Story Rocks:

Title: another time (around the wheel)
Author: Nightwing
Length: long
Period: all over timey-wimey-ness
Characters: the triplets, Simone
Why I Think This Story Rocks: This is a crossover with Doctor Who, but that part is fairly irrelevant - this is a beautifully constructed, appealingly non-linear adventure that sees the triplets and Simone flung headlong through time and space. It's a bit confusing, but definitely worth it once you work out what's going on!

For some reason I seem to be only recommending crossovers.

Title: The Marlows at St Mildred's
Author: Mrs Redboots
Length: Long
Period: Switzerland, not long after the Triplets have left school
Characters: Nicola and Lawrie Marlow, Len Maynard, Miss Wilson, Jane Carew and mother, Jack Lamber, Margaret Twiss
Why I Think This Story Rocks: I had never come across the Marlows before I read this, and bought Autumn Term as a result. It is well written and sound like Antonia Forrest (based on the one book I have read!)

Title: A Chalet Girl at Last
Author: Francesn
Length: Long
Period: Switzerland - when Blossom and Sybil etc are at St Mildreds.
Characters: Sybil Russel, Blossom Willoughby, Gwendoline Mary Lacey (from Malory Towers).
Why I Think This Story Rocks: It is well written and enjoyable, and it show the redemption of Gwen very realistically, especially considering she was given rather a raw deal at Malory Towers (who else hates Alicia now they are grown up?).

Title: Veronica at the Chalet School
Author: Abi
Length: Long
Period:Switzerland of the Mary-Lou and Vi era.
Characters:Veronica Weston, Sebastian, Caroline and Fiona Scott, Mary-Lou, Vi Lucy.
Why I Think This Story Rocks:I adored the Wells books growing up, and didn't actually come to the Chalet School until I was an adult. This brilliant piece of writing clearly captures Lorna Hill's voice and characters perfectly and I really enjoy reading it.
