Has anyone read EBD's geography readers? If so, are they worth it? GGBP are publishing the first two (together) in June, but I'm reluctant to part with £13 for what I assume are fairly short stories unless they're genuinely good!

They are better than one might think they would be. Some of her geography may be a bit wild, but they do have quite a strong storyline and characters, even though lots of info dumps. First I read was Bess on her own in Canada, some years ago now,and Ienjoyed the story.

Have both.
I like the way the stories are fitted round the facts. They are light but entertaining and most of the time the facts fit into the story and don't sound too "guide-book -like".
Some of the facts really are of their time. All four countries have "native"or "first nation" populations and the way EBD talks about them does not sit easily with modern readers, especially in the Kenya book.

Yes, they are short and therefore not such good value for money but I bought them for my EBD collection. Probably they will ba available from the FOCS and NCC libraries if you don't want to splash out.
