GGBP have announced Top Secret and Antonia Forest’s The Attic Term on their website. They will be published in late February 2022.

There’s an interesting article by Liz Filleul about GGBP in the current issue (Nov 6) of People’s Friend.

I read the article. It’s nice for GGBP to have an article for their 20th anniversary. Clarissa says that when they started GGBP they had no business plan and did none of the things they should have done. Interestingly I think that is nearly always the way with successful businesses and successful business people. The people with an elaborate detailed business plan don’t actually manage to even start the business a lot of the time as they’re waiting for everything to be perfect whereas people with no business plan who just go ahead and start the business without waiting for everything to be perfect are generally much more successful. Ann and Clarissa really are two in seven billion. I don’t know how they manage to run GGBP in addition to everything else they have going on. They both have health problems and Clarissa has another full time job. She has just taken on another parish at her own suggestion. I always think they don’t realise how marvellous they are.

Yes, it's great what GGBP do in reprinting the CS and many other books/series. If they have that much going on (and health problems), perhaps it is totally unfair to criticise them, as I have done in the past, for not doing ebooks.

GGBP have announced they are publishing The CS and the Island in April. It will include a short story. They have also announced they are reprinting The Bettanys of Taverton High in May. It will include a new short story by Helen Barber.

Does anybody think that it’s strange that GGBP have asked people to vote for titles for recent CS fill-ins via their weekly newsletter? I know if I was a fill-in author I’d want to pick the title myself.

It is a bit strange as it's also hard to pick a title when you haven't read the book!

In two cases, I had a chat to the authors and they were very pleased to have the decision made by others! One had struggled the whole time to find a title they were pleased with, and the other couldn't decide between several of the options.

Which CS books are still left to publish by GGBP? I’m pretty sure I’ve got most but wondering how many I’ve missed.

I think it's just Island, now.

Here's a link to their list.

Thanks, I could only find an older list. So after island they’ve only 2 left to print! Going to have to compare my shelves now.

Island and Wins the Trick are the only CS books left to be published by GGBP. Island will be published next week and Wins the Trick is due to be published later this year.

I’m up to date then!

Currently on my first read through in years as I’ve just been reading them as they came and I’m coming up to Island .

"Island" is supposedly uncut in the Armada so you'll not be missing anything.

Three Go and Gerry are to be republished this year - disappointing to see GGBP republishing Gerry for a third time before the promised Janie Steps In this year

They've said that they'll only be printing a few books this year, because sales are slowing down and they're worried about not covering their costs. They've said that they're putting this down to the increased cost of living due to the war in Ukraine, and I suppose a lot of people are still recovering from the economic pinch due to Covid. I know it's hardly the same as EBD having to move the CS from Austria and then again from Guernsey, but there are things you just don't see coming and haven't got any control over :( .
