It's OK for me, but I did have the same problem a few weeks ago.

I'm not seeing any problems. Those kind of errors do pop up ever so often and rarely last long.

It was temporary for me, now it's gone. It was there, though.

I had a problem with it on Wednesday, but again it was just a temporary blip.

Thank you for fixing the SDL! It has proved that I may well have to consider Fanfic Addicts Anonymous though.

The effort in keeping all of us supplied with our Chalet School Fix is much appreciated, thank you.

I don't know what I'm doing wrongly but I've never had problems uploading to the SDL before and today I just can't get it to work. If I press preview, the text disappears, and if I just try "add story" I'm told that some of the required info is missing even though it isn't.

The only thing I can think of is that my computer's recently upgraded itself to IE9. I can't think why this should cause a problem, but I'm stuck for other ideas. I've tried umpteen times and have now given up. Has anyone got any ideas?

It's an IE9 problem - you need to go to your preferences and uncheck 'use Mini MCE editor' - it doesn't work just unchecking it at the point of entering text, you need to do it in preferences.

Then bold and italic can be done with codes in <> </> (rather than [] [/] as on here)

Ah - thanks, it works now!

What a pain, though :( . My favourite thing about the SDL was not having to redo all the bold and italics stuff! Gah, I never even asked the computer to upgrade itself, it just did it!

I know! I was very jealous of those who were able to paste straight in without having to do all the gubbins.

Alison, there is a way to stop your computer from automatically downloading updates like that. (Can't quite remember how but can probably ask a friend if a CBBer doesn't know.)

It normally just downloads security updates etc, and I haven't got a clue why it suddenly decided to upgrade itself to IE9 a few weeks ago when IE9's been around for ages :? .

I've just bought a new laptop, and it has IE9 which didn't please me when I recalled the problems with SDL, but as I already had to do as Ruth suggested to post ND in SDL, because of all the gaps in the doc etc, I'm sure it should be fine since my mini MCE is already unchecked.

I've got the latest FF and have never had any problems with MCE or anything else in the SDL. If it's a real bother, maybe that would be a solution?

I have not been able to comment on any SDL stories in the past 24-48 hours. it keeps telling me the security code I have entered is correct and I know it is. I have checked several times each time. Does anyone have any suggestions or is everyone experiencing the same problem?

It's OK for me, but I stay logged in so I don't get asked for a security code ... er, so that's probably not very helpful, sorry!

Have just tried that myself actually and can post after logging in. However, would it be possible to look at this to avoid having to log in every time? If it's a problem to do that, no worries! Thanks :)
