I had a lovely day yesterday. In the morning, my Dance Exercise class met for the first time since March. It was great to see everyone again especially our teacher Jill who has not been well.

In the afternoon, Brown Owl and I met the Brownies in a nearby park for an hour of games. Although we have been meeting on Zoom, it was good to see the girls and parents again.

I was looking forward to resuming both activities again but judging by this morning's news, this seems unlikely. We should be able to meet the Brownies in the hall on Tuesday but the Friday Dance Exercise Class seems unlikely.

Sounds like a lovely day. As you say, it may be a while before you can do it again, but well done on getting done at all.

Yay Butterfly, aka daughter Alison, has safely made her way across Europe to the Czech Republic, landing in Prague at 2.30 this afternoon. A kind friend brought her to our village an hour or so south of Prague and the vans bearing all her goods and chattels arrived safely about three hours later.

Now all the boxes etc are standing round my beautifully tidy house, waiting to be unpacked at our leisure.
ETA to change "yeah" to "yay". I must have been tired when I typed it.

That's great news, Cestina - so glad Alison and her possessions have arrived safely, especially given the current Covid situation. You must both be so relieved.

Great news indeed.
Stay safe in your little village.
It's nice to have some happiness. Too much whinging at the moment - that's not a dig at the other thread, just a comment. We need more happiness.

So pleased Alison and all her boxes have arrived safely! Looking forward to seeing what she does with the space when everything is unpacked

Glad she made it ok! Travel abroad seems a tough one currently. Hope you stay safe there!

Great news, cestina - always good to hear of something cheering to start the day, and it must be such a relief for both of you. So happy for you.

We Are A Grandmother.

Bit of a worrying time as it is 9 weeks early but in the end, although the baby is small, he's perfectly healthly and everyone is fine.

(In a CS connection, David Russell arrives early by around the same amount and, entirely coincidentally, the baby has "David" as a middle name!)

In Holland you congratulate the parents of children, including adult ones, on their child's birthday....so I think you would definitely be entitled to congratulations there Victoria :D

I think this counts as more happy than not. Today marks the third anniversary of me having (and surviving) a brain haemorrhage.

It has left me with quite a few differences including a permanent headache, extreme fatigue, poor memory, mild PTSD & a complete terror of the dentist but on the grand scale of things these are pretty minor.

Today I am treating myself kindly and remembering all the things I can still do rather than the things I can't, and that might include starting a full CS read through.

I hope that St Nicholas has brought you nice things, and while I might sit out a wild chase around the house (with demons chasing) for hide and seek I will certainly be celebrating.

That's great news, Norfolkbookworm, even if it does come with some downers too. Wishing you much better health in future!

St Nicholas is bringing a stocking full of chocolate round later, I'm told! Not for me, alas, but for Younger Son to consume at online Youth Group this evening.

And St Nicholas always brings Middle Nephew birthday cake and cards
