When making the bed, it is a good idea to put the clean linen on the bed and the dirty linen in the washing machine rather than the other way round.

When intending to use a cream cleanser on one's face, it's a good idea not to rub it into one's hair instead!

I thought that even I couldn't manage to use a "cream cleaner" on my face never mind on my hair!..then I realised "cream cleaner" and "cream cleanser" were not the same thing

1) Make sure you collect your inhalers from the pharmacy at the supermarket rather than going shopping there when the pharmacy is closed...

This is particularly important taking public service announcement 2 into consideration...

2) Put the toilet lid down before picking up your inhaler. Or before dropping your inhaler.

(This was last night, new inhalers now safely in the house. )

When making breakfast without your glasses on and you think there's half a miniature jar of luxury jam in the fridge to be used up, at least look at the colour and consistency before piling the contents on your toast. That way you will identify in time that there's also half a miniature jar of chutney in the fridge as well...

It was rather nice apple chutney but not quite what I was wanting for a lazy Saturday breakfast treat...

When you can't find a filing cabinet key in your desk drawer even after clearing out the contents and you have had to borrow the spare key, you will then find on replacing the items in the drawer that you have a fancy pen case with a magnetic catch and the key is stuck on the magnet on the underside...

When visiting the bathroom, it is a very good idea to remove your phone from your back pocket or else a very fast rescue is required :( (Happily no serious damage)

When preparing nibbles including salted almonds for guests at the same time as giving the cat his supper, do not absent mindedly pinch a couple of nuts without checking you are not pinching the cat’s biscuits. Purrdy loves them but I can’t say the same!

If you are using the microwave to heat up your coffee, it's a good idea to put the coffee into the microwave.

The corollary to which is:
If you're cooking fish in the microwave, you get much better results if you switch it on.

Do not walk into the middle of a busy main road, after dark, especially if you are wearing dark clothing so it's difficult for drivers to see you, and there is a perfectly good pedestrian crossing only a couple of hundred yards away.

Do not cycle along a busy main road after dark, with no lights on your bike, and wearing dark clothing.

Why is it so difficult for some people to get this :banghead: ?!

Do not balance a newly opened large bag of flour on the edge of the working surface, turn your back on it or it will throw itself in your direction and cover you, your black polo neck and black jeans, the cooker and the floor. Anyone would think I was in a cookery lesson at the CS.

edited for spelling

You should either chop the garlic or watch the magpies digging up the lawn because that knife is very sharp.

The tube of toothpaste and the tube of nappy cream look very similar after 4 hours sleep...

So long as you didn't put the toothpaste on the poor unsuspecting baby, that would really end all sleep for some considerable time.

Note to SLOC who is cooking Chilli con Carne: having opened a tin of kidney beans, double check the second tin before opening to make sure it is a tin of tomatoes. Having failed to do this, resulting in a second tin of kidney beans having been opened, do not open a third tin without checking the contents so that you don't then find you've opened a third tin of kidney beans.

Do you now have enough Chilli con Carne, possibly a little short on minced beef and tomato, but heavy on beans, to feed an army?

It's a good idea when you send a text message to a neighbour asking if she wants anything at the local supermarket, to make sure you send it to the right person. That way you don't end up replying to your own text asking a rather bewildered friend if she's in the same Sainsbury's as you.

Signs of the times, Annied!

Speaking of which, an internet acquaintance posted that she dunks all her shopping in warm soapy water and then rinses it. She did admit that it hadn't been such a good idea with the bag of sugar, though...
