The Daily Telegraph book of quick crosswords does not make good reading in the bath.

When doing a load of washing, check the cycle has actually started before sitting down to a couple of hours in front of the TV, then when you go back and see the green light winking, don't assume it has finished and unload the lot before it dawns on you that everything is remarkably dry!

Been there, done that so many times!

Plugging in the vaccuum cleaner will not allow you to listen to Test Match Special.

Equally, plugging in the radio is an inefficient way of vaccuuming.

Nutmeg is not a good substitute for chilli powder when making lentil chilli.

When putting away the shopping, do not put a packet of biscuits in the fridge,
they will be OK in a cupboard rather than taking up space in the fridge!

If there is a patch of wet cement in the vicinity, your pet will walk through it.

Builders arrived this morning to big pawprints up the new path after I let the dog out in the night. Fortunately they found it hilarious and have decided to leave a couple of them in the corner. I was less entertained by the matching set across the carpet - they will not be staying.

When we were having a garden wall built, I found cementy cat pawprints all over the work surfaces in the kitchen. The workers had let a cat walk through the cement and then into the kitchen.
"We thought it was your cat" they said!

When we had an extension built the floor acquired multiple sets of paw prints overnight. Some were from our cat, but the rest...?

Don't forget to wash all the paws of the animals that do actually belong to you and can be held long enough! Cement isn't good for them.
