:santa: Not sure how much interest there'll be in this, but testing the water :D :santa:.

For this year’s Advent Drabbles, we’d like to ask people to write a short story showing a Chalet School character's letter to Father Christmas (with thanks to Catherine, who came up with this brilliant idea last year). It can (and indeed may) be about any character.

If you would like to take part, please send yours truly a PM, and let me know:

a - whether you’ve got any preference for a particular time period – Tyrol era, British Isles era, Swiss era, pre-school era/post-school era.
b - if there is a particular week/time that would be difficult for you to post your piece, so that you aren't asked to post on a day when you need to be doing something else.

In previous years, there've been considerably fewer than 24 volunteers, so some people have very kindly written two or even three drabbles. However, that's a lot to ask of people at a very busy time of year, unless anyone's bursting with ideas and desperately wants to write more than one drabble :D, this year there'll only be as many drabbles as there are volunteers, so just one every two or three days if there aren't that many.

In line with last year, the idea is to post the stories anonymously, as "Round Robin", and then have a 'reveal' in the New Year.
So please get thinking, and PM by November 20th if you're interested.

ETA - if inspiration has already struck, please would you let me know which character you're thinking of, just so we don't get ten successive days of Mary-Lou or whatever  .

16 people have very kindly volunteered, and there are 24 days. In the immortal words of the great Mr Loaf, two out of three ain't bad, and it doesn't seem fair to hassle eight people to write two each. So there'll be Advent Drabbles on two out of every three days from December 1st to Christmas Eve. If anyone's got any Chalet-related festive poems, quizzes, bad jokes or anything else they'd like to volunteer for the "rest days", please feel free to shout up - if not, they can just be rest days.

Thank you very much to the kind people who've volunteered (I'm assuming no-one else will between now and Sunday, but please feel free to do so if you'd like to). I'll PM everyone with the dates and details on Sunday afternoon ... assuming my brain is in gear after having a large mugful of gluhwein at the Christmas markets :D .
