Hello - I am a returner to the CBB! Haven't been around on the message boards (even to lurk!) for a few months - too busy.

However, I am still reading the books and find both these and the CBB a calm oasis in an ever hectic, frantic world!

First read The Chalet School and Barbara [i] when I was about 11 (herhum years ago....) and loved it. Apart from that book which was a hard back, all the other books I have read have been paperback so am well aware that I have often read the abridged version. I now have a paperback version of [i]Barbara so always feel that there was more to the story if only I could remember it!

I am a teacher (desperate to retire!) in the East Midlands and have found a few Chalet School devotees among colleagues of a certain age.

I think the site is brilliant so keep up the good work and I will try and find time to post and contribute to the threads!

Carrie

Hello Carrie - I used to live in Leicester and bought a few CS books in the Black Cat bookshop in the Silver Arcade - no idea if either place still exists now!

Welcome back :)

Hi Carrie! It's nice to meet you. Have you persuaded any of your colleagues to join the CBB?!

Silver Arcade is still there - am not sure about the Black Cat bookshop - it was up on the top floor wasn't it? I haven't been in there for a while. I could never find CS books there...!

Thanks for the welcome back everyone!
