Title: Smiley stories
Post by edith on Jun 20th, 2003, 1:06pm
OK! This is an idea I just had, you pick 1 of the smileys

and write a CS drabble round it.

The cakes were brought to table and the upper fourths hurried to eat their bread and butter so they could try the fifths creations.
Ailie Russel took the first piece of Con Maynard's cake. It was a lovely golden colour and smelled delicious. Ailie bit it then spat the cake out. "Yeuch!" she cried, "What have you done to this cake Con?"
Len tried a tiny bit, it really was a strange taste, sweet but there was something wrong. It tasted salty... Len grabbed a glass of water and drank. "Yeuch Con, this cake tastes salty!"
"Salty?" the cakes maker replied. "Its got no salt in it. Just flour, sugar,syrup..."
Frau Meiders hurried into the room, "Don't eat those cakes girls, someone has used salt instead of sugar!"
"CON!" MaryLou said shocked. "That must be what you did to that cake!"
Con bowed her head, her face scarlet, she wouldn't dream up stories while cooking ever again!

See! Now someone else choose a smiley!

The new girl stood shyly to one side whilst Miss Annersly called out the form lists. Then her name was called.
"Irma Royds - VA for the moment if you just join Len over there."
She slipped into the line where Len gave her a friendle smile.
"Hello, where are you from?" she whispered
"Bournemouth" replied Irma, "But I didn't know I was coming here until a few weeks ago!"
"You'll settle in just fine" replied Len. "How is your German and French?"
"Why I can't speak either! I suppose I shall miss those lessons and have extra maths or something."
Len chuckled at this. "Not likely! We have to speak nothing but French or German for 4 days of the week!" She flung her bomb and sat back to watch it's effects.
The new girl goggled at this! "Why, I'll have to be dumb for most of the week then!" :-X  :-X  :-X

Jack Lambert scowled as she wondered what to do with the new girl Anna Barton. They were a week in to the term and Jack had been told to sheepdog Anna and was trying to do this successfully. Anna was homesick though and Jack just could not understand how anyone could be so silly. For the first day or sure she could follow, but this was becoming ridiculous in Jack's mind. "Grr" said Jack, catching several strange looks as those at her table wondered what was bothering their friend.

Then Jack smiled to herself as she remembered that Len Maynard was home from Oxford at the moment. She would ask permission to go next door to Freudeheism and then she could tackle Len with her questions on the subject.

Jo sat in the common room trying to work out the answers to all the sums Miss Maynard had set her. It seemed to her that the more frustrated she became the louder the other girls became. Finally, she snapped at them all to be quiet so that she could "get on with this beastly, ghastly, rotten homework!" It was unfortunate for her that at that moment Miss Maynard looked in. "Girls, have you seen my- Jo! Have you forgotten about the slang rule? You must pay the fine. Now let me see those sums that I set you. Why, you haven't even started them! Well, if you are finding it hard to work in here you can go along to your classroom and do it. I shall be in the staff room if you need me." And with this she swept out of the room, leaving a furious Jo to gather up her work.  >:(

;D

five years had passed since Con left the chalet school, she had been writing in London for that time, and she now had some great news to tell everyone.

Later that day her two great sisters were coming to visit her in London and then they were going to travel to switzerland together for a reunion.

When they arrived they all cried at once, 'I have some great news to tell you, oh its so marvellous!' 'You go first' said Con, to Margot.
'Ok, well, its just that when i go back to the nuns i will make my final vows, and stop being a probationer.' At that Len and Con hugged their sister.
'Now you Len.'
'Well, i'm withchild, but with quads!' the other two sisters squealed with delight and laughter.
'Oh, gosh, its my turn, but my news isn't a patch on yours, i've got my first book published! Its a school story, called, The Chalet school!'
'Oh Con, thats marvellous! Isn't it wonderful the success we've made of our lives!' At that the three grown up sisters sat down to an English tea, grinning happily to themselves.

The End  ;D

Jo Maynard looked at her eldest great-grandchild sadly. Daisy Coleman had followed in her family's tradition and like her grandmother Len, her mother Regina and even Jo herself, she was the current headgirl of the Chalet School. Soon she would be back among her companions dealing with the latest of the middles naughtiness. This year had been especially bad and Daisy hoped there would be time to ask her family for suggestions on possible punishments. For now though she had a funeral to attend. Jack Maynard had finally succombed to the cancer that had been known for the last three years and it was to his funeral they were now going. It was amazing really with all they had been through reflected Daisy that both her great-grandparents had lasted so long.

It was no use Hilda Annersley decided, she had to make a decision. The Head attempted to continue her never-ending correspondence while fighting a sick headache. She looked up as Rosalie entered the room.
'I made the appointment you wanted, Miss Annersley,' she began, not sure of her welcome as the Head had been decidedly 'snappy' earlier.
Miss Annersley looked across at her secretary, her blue-grey eyes dark due to her headache, she smiled, 'Thank you my dear,'
Rosalie made to leave then stopped, 'I wish you would tell me what the problem is,' she began, 'booking an appointment with a Swiss doctor, and not letting me speak to Matey or Dr Jack,' Rosalie looked very concerned, ' I'm very worried Hilda.'
Miss Annersley closed her eyes as the print in front of her appeared to blur, she turned to Rosalie,'We'll speak of this tomorrow,' she said softly but firmly.
Hilda watched as Rosalie left the office, she wished she could have confided, but for this to happen! She had a sick feeling that she knew what the Doctor was going to tell her tomorrow, and if she were correct then the entire School would know - after all people would notice when she started to wear glasses!

*Just a slight variation on the theme (hope you don't mind) Which smilie do you think most represents a certain character, I think  ;) could be Bill because I use it quite often when I'm teasing or being sarcastic, however, it could also be OOAOML!*
