Title: The Sixth Sense (FCS)
Post by Abi on Nov 7th, 2003, 11:27am
This came to me randomly when I was writing my essay and listening to the Phantom of the Opera.....

Miss Annersley rose at about three o'clock in the morning with a strange feeling of apprehension. The Sixth Sense which most of the original and best mistresses of the School employed was definitely working overtime. She did pause long enough to put on her dressng gown and slippers before opening the door and creeping through the passages to the main part of the School. Crossing the open entrance hall the Sense told her that someone was coming down the main staircase and she quickly dropped on her hands and knees behind a large chest that stood there. Yes, footspteps were coming. Hilda dared not look, in case she was seemn, but once the person had reached the far side of the hall she poked her head round the corner of the chest. To her astonishment it was Kathie Ferrars, also wandering round in slippers and dressing gown.

Kathie too had felt that something was wrong and came to investigate. The Sixth Sense seemed to lead her towards the Head's Annexe, but as she crossed the entrance hall it suddenly told her to look round. Imagine her surprise when she saw, peering round the corner of the chest with a deeply conspiratorial air, the tousled head of the Head. For a moment she gaped at Hilda but that lady was no longer paying attention to her.... the Sense was at work again. She looked at Kathie.

"Quick!" she hissed in a sibilant whisper, "Behind here! Someone's coming!" Kathie crossed the hall in double-quick time as footsteps came down the stairs once more. Hilda pulled her down beside her. Then, to their astonishment that well-known possessor of the Sense appeared - Matron Lloyd! She crossed the hall without seeing them and as she entered the corridor on the opposite side the two mistresses glanced at one another and with one accord crawled on hands and knees, at top speed, across the hall after Matron, Hilda leading and Kathie close on her heels. But the Sense was feeling mischievous and must have told MAtron somehting, for at that very moment she looked round...............

please continue - I have no idea where to go next!!!!!!!!

Matey gasped at blinked at seeing the dignified Head and the new young mistress crawling on the floor at this hour of the night. For once, the wind was taken out of her sails.
"What are you doing?"
Hilda and Kathie looked at each other. Then Hilda had a brainwave. "Kathie was helping me to look for my contact lenses," she explained. "They fell out earlier and I can't see anything without them!"
With another suspcious look at the pair, Matey grudgingly agreed that this was a reasonable excuse for crawling, and departed, leaving the two behind her to grin and heave sighs of relief. They scurried into a dark alcove, and when all was clear, they...

This was an example followed by Rachel and the ensuing smell caused several members of the School to faint, fullying occupying the under Matrons while Matey herself hurried after Rachel to lead her to the nearest Splashery and command her to relieve herself.  Unfortunately, Rachel was surprised into doing so immediately and looked dismally at the puddle on the floor......................
"Why are you not wearing Tena Lady?"  Matron demanded.

Do forgive me Vikki. I was under the impression this story was set in the CS world, and you weren't actually there. Obviously, you must have been so shocked at seeing your own behaviour in one of the CHARACTERS, you leaped to the conclusion I was referring to YOU.
