Title: Revolution!
Post by Lisa_T on Nov 9th, 2003, 4:12pm
1793, Paris.....The Terror is at its height. Madame la Guillotine is claiming more victims by the day. One of the womens groups- the CBB, affiliated to the Chalet School- is being targeted by Robespierre and Co, and tensions are increasing.

Then the news comes of a rescuer, known only as the Scarlet Sarafan. Her only distinguishing characteristic is her voice, which is so marvellously flexible she can change it according to whom she is speaking at the occassion...

There you go! ;)

Hmmmm

This rings a bell.  Wouldn't have anything to do with something Rachel was muttering about in another drabble would it?

*wonders at Lisa for encouraging Rachel in this way*

Hey, I'm quite happy to encourage Rachel! And the French Revolution is one of my favourite periods, which may have something to do with it....

Rachel, you can do whatever you like, but remember you may face repercussions elsewhere..

*still trying to work out how to deal with Rachel the Witch*
*especially in light of latest developments*

*grrrr*
Rachel, in case you hadn't noticed, you are not the Abbess!

*I wonder if that was squashing enough?*
But yes, you may do what you like!

Does that include taking all my clothes off and running round the CBB shrieking "Look at me! I'm Revolting!" ?

I'm sure several people would agree with you, Rachel! ;)

Reminds me of 'the peasants are revolting'

*covers her eyes in horror at the mere thought of Rachel doing that!!!*

I'm not sure which I would be more scared of, a naked Rachel, or the sequel spiders.

You can make up your minds in March . . .

I think you could possibly hide from a naked Rachel or shut your eyes to block the image out but I'm not sure you would have any luck with sequel spiders.

Okay, I actually just burst out laughing, in a semi-hysterical fashion, attracting the attention of all the other people in here, and as my friend had just accidentally knocked a chair over, I am thinking I may be about to be flung out by irate people-who-are-trying-to-study... *still giggling though*

No wonder you're 'looking flushed' then Xanthe! ;)

I think that's cos I'm in for the measles  :-/

*having had measles twice in RL is not best pleased by that prospect*

You'll just have to post a lot to get through that stage quickly Xanthe!!

I need to get to bed before too long though - nine o'clock lecture tomorrow, and I don't need to be sleep-deprived to have difficulty staying awake in it...  ;)

I suppose you'd better not snooze through your lectures!
I guess that might be frowned on! ;)

Well, that, and the people I'm friends with would probably leap to the conclusion that I was having a collapsy moment rather than a nap!

Not if you warned them before hand that you might doze off! ;)

Mmm, probably not the bestest plan though... my ten o'clock lecture on the Tudor Polity's lots better though, so the wish to go sleepy-byes would be more easily overcome  ;D

My experience of university suggests that they will simply ignore the sleepers and focus on other people.

There's probably some mad Cambridgean tradition that means anyone caught sleeping in lectures gets suspended from the mathmatical bridge by their ears until said body parts are so stretched they're up to their neck in the Cam... or something like...
