Title: Mary-Lou and the light hearted story.
Post by Marianne on Sep 3rd, 2003, 6:15pm
(i thought the cookies and drabbles section needed a light hearted story for all to contribute to, so i hope people will! ;D)

Mary-Louise trelawney had reached her 15th birthday but thanks to her upbringing she seemed much older than her years. The authorities beleived her to be a kind, responsible, future head girl and hence she often was called upon to help out with problem school grils and sometimes as it was expected of her and butting i was in her nature she took them on herself. Just recently she had done her nest to help out a new girl called Joan Baker but had had her offerings of friendship thrown back in her face for Joan had run  away from the Carey home during the holidays causing much greif to the generous family. Hence, Mary-Lou decided she'd had enough of  butting in, of helping others, she wanted to be an irresponsible school gril.

She set about laying plans, that evening at tea she....

Mary-Lou snuggled into the stranger in the dark. She heard Verity scrabbling around and whimpering on the floor, so administered a swift kick to her dear sister-by-marriage which had the lucky side effect of knocking Verity out cold.

Mary-Lou gently guided the stranger out the door and into the shadowy garden where she could see who she was embraced by. Imagine her surprise when she realised it was none other than

Hmm, has just occured to me that the person who I thought had the sexy voice (not Herr Laubach <g>) played a doctor in the soap opera he starred in.  Coincidence?  I don't think so. . .  ;)

That is, unless there's anyone else anyone knows of who says "how are you doing?" in quite the same way.  In which case, I shall make my excuses and leave. . . :)

A young man grinned at Mary-Lou's look of shock as she realised she was still snuggling into Herr Laubach. With a shudder, she flung herself out of the man's arms and into the arms of Herr Laubach's grandson.

"And how are you doing" he asked, in exactly the same voice as his grandfather. "Allow me to introduce myself, Joseph Tri--"

His words were cut short by a shriek from Verity who had just regained conciousness and crawled to the door.

"Mary-Lou! Mary-Lou! That's a BOY!" with this, Verity swooned to the floor, overcome by the shock of seeing a handsome male figure on the premises of the Chalet School.

Mary-Lou very unkindly flipped Verity the bird (it's dark!) and giggled softly. "Time to grow up Verity! Joseph and I are off for a wander! Tell Miss A I'll be back before light!"

"You mean lights-out Mary-Lou" called Verity's trembling voice.

"Wanna bet?" returned Mary-Lou as she sauntered off in the moonlight, wrapped around the hunky Joseph.

The crater, soon to become known as "The Passion Pit" provided an ideal place for Mary-Lou and Joseph to become "better aquainted" since they ended up having to spend the entire night there, since Verity had fallen into Herr Laubach's arms and that man had had to spend several hours searching for a member of staff to take charge of the wailing girl, so hadn't realised there was any problem out in the garden.

(It wasn't a problem as far as OOAOML was concerned!)

I don't know how you do it, but you've mucked the brackets up. This [ i ][ /i ] is the correct order. If you stop putting the backslash into the first bracket and put it in the second instead, it should work properly.

As Matey was musing upon her failed relationships, Mary-Lou bounced onto her bunions (Mateys not OOAOML's!) causing Matey to collapse to the floor moaning gently, in pain for the first time as opposed to laughter, and went skipping off down the corridor to find some of her fellow playmates to share the news that boys were actually rather good fun and not the evil personified they had all been brainwashed into believing them to be.

This news astonished Mary-Lou's class mates, for a while they were captivated as she told them about boys. Then one puritanical highly strung child piped up,
'She's evil, corrupted, a witch! Lets burn her!'

"Leave it out Verity" said Mary-Lou in a scornful voice. "Just because I snaffled him first! At least I didn't move in on Herr Laubach and you," she continued with a wicked leer.

Verity gave a whimper and promptly fainted, and lay on the ground etc etc etc .

Mary-Lou sighed. Some people really were given to melodramatics these days.

Mary-Lou decided to ignore Verity and left her lying on the floor in a heap. Mary-Lou then decided she needed to sleep as she was tired from last nights 'activities.' With a huge disregard for Chalet School rules she ran up the stairs and jumped into bed. Just as she was beginning to doze off Mary-Lou heard something disturbing the leaves on the tree which happened to be situated right next to her window ;).
"What on Earth..." she began. She next second she saw Joseph climbing up the tree. "Please be careful Joseph darling" she began "I couldn't cope if you were to fall off that branch, oh how clever of you to find my dormy and the correct wondow so quickly!!"
"It was no problem Mary-Lou" Joseph replied "You see, I've been watching you undress at night and the rest for some time now so I knew exactly where to find you."
"Oh" replied Mary-Lou somewhat put out at this "I've never noticed anyone hanging around outside."
"That's because I am as cunning as a fox. I could tell you some interesting tales about the mistresses as well if you wanted me to. You should see what they get up to at night!!"

“I will tell you some more about the staff’s fun and games another time Mary-Lou.” Joseph began. ”That can wait, first I want us to have some more fun like we did last night. Are you up for it?”

Joseph then quietly stepped across from the branch of the tree he had been balancing on into the dormitory. The next moment he pushed Mary-Lou onto her bed. Mary-Lou did, however, still have a small element of sense and she knew that she was risking major penalties if she were to be caught in her dorm with a member of the opposite sex.

“No, not here Joseph” she whispered “Someone might come in and disturb us. I couldn’t be doing with all the fuss if we were caught.”
“Fair enough” Joseph replied with a grin “But how you can be concerned about breaking the school rules after what we got up to last night beats me!!”
“True Joseph” Mary-Lou replied “But at least we were not inside the school last night. I know we were on the school grounds but at least we were outside.”

With this strange reasoning Mary-Lou pulled Joseph up off her bed and led him out of the dorm. She was well aware that the rest were in lessons at the moment so she felt relatively safe in the upper regions of the school, downstairs near the Abbess’s office and the classrooms was another matter. While she was dragging Joseph down the back staircase Mary-Lou suddenly had a flash of inspiration.

“Why don’t we christen Hall” she thought to herself “At this time of day it’s always empty. Even better we can go inside the room under the stage (As in the St. Trinians Great Train Robbery) and have some fun there.” Out loud all she said to Joseph was “Follow me this way. I’ve thought of the perfect place…”

Mary-Lou and Joseph luckily managed to reach Hall unseen. The journey had not, however, been without incident. Mary-Lou had had to shove Joseph into a cupboard at one point when she had seen Miss Ferrars in the distant, they had also nearly bumped into one of the cooks. Once inside Hall Mary-Lou pushed Joseph through the trap-door in the stage, then they got down to business i.e. having some serious fun.

Unfortunately the young couple must have got carried away and lost track of time. One minute Mary-Lou was learning about the staff’s frequent ‘fancy dress’ games, the thought of the stately Miss Annersley dressed as a donkey had mildly disturbed Mary-Lou to say the least. The next minute they heard the sound of footsteps directly over head followed by the terrible noise of the junior choir warming up singing scales and arpeggios.

“Oh no” Mary-Lou exclaimed “That’s the junior choir having their singing practice. That means we won’t be able to get out of her for at least an hour.”
“Blimey” Joseph replied “Well I suppose we must make the most of a bad situation if you get my drift…”
“Oh yes, I get the idea!” Mary-Lou responded “But how you can relax with this awful racket beats me. I never realised we sounded so terrible.”

What Mary-Lou had forgotten, however, was the fact that the junior choir were having an extra long singing lesson. They would be trapped under the stage for at least three hours!!!

Mary-Lou was feeling somewhat distracted by the noises overhead, and Joseph, realising this was finding it hard to keep his mind on the task (I was going to say in hand but knowing some people, it would better not to) ,  was becoming distracted by Mary-Lou's lack of attentiveness. In order to get her attntion back firmly on him, where he felt it belonged, he made a startling suggestion to her.

"Let's follow their lead babe," he suggested.

"Youwot?" asked Mary-Lou, allowing her facade of middle class breeding to slip in the excitement.

"When they go up in the scales, we'll go up, when they go down, we'll go down," Joseph said with a leer.

"Wahey!" shrieked Mary-Lou in her usual clarion tones, forgetting the need to be quiet.

Post by Emma_N on Sep 5th, 2003, 11:26pm
Luckily for Mary-Lou at the exact point she let out her loud "Wahey" the choir hit a particularly high note. The near miss made Mary-Lou even more excited and she could hardly keep her hands off Joseph's thingy :o. As the choir innocently sang their scales Mary-Lou and Joseph followed their lead. The whole situation was made funnier by the fact that every now and then they could hear Plato shouting
"And up and dowwwwwwwnnnnn. And up and dowwwwwwwnnnnn...."

The scales however lasted longer than Mary-Lou and Joseph as Joseph had got himself abit over excited!! Feeling somewhat disappointed with the outcome of their 'session' Mary-Lou was suddenly overcome with an urgent need for the toilet.

'oooo Joe, i need to wee!' Mary-Lou gasped, she was having problems not wetting herself.
'well you'll just have to wait, honestly! Kids these days!' snapped Joseph in reply.
'Well i can't, i'm going on the floor over there...'

(can Mary-Lou be preganant, name her baby Jesus....not mocking the christmas story or anything but it would be funny!)

Mary-Lou then proceeded to go to the toilet in a corner so she was hidden away away from Joseph. It was strange she could play with his thingy but couldn't go to the toilet in front of him. Unfortunately Joseph was not that impressed with her actions.
"That's disgusting Mary-Lou" he began "Couldn't you have hung on until the singing had finised?"
"No way" she replied "I really needed to go. Anyway, I had been hanging on for at least an hour before you came along so don't tell me I've got no self-control Joe."
Once Mary-Lou had been she felt much better and could relax once more. Joseph, however, had suddenly become rather uptight something Mary-Lou didn't fail to observe.
"What ever is the matter with you now Joseph" she demanded "Why are you looking like such an old misery?"
"I've just remembered I've got a cricket match this evening and I really need to get back to school (was he at school? well he is now!!) I've got to get out of this place" with this speech Joesph began to look around the small room in which they had spent the last hour or so trapped. There was no means of escape for him and Joseph was well aware that he could hardly push up the trap-door and arrive on the stage!!

Mary-Lou and Joseph sat scowling at one another for an hour untill suddenly there was a cry from the stage,
'I can see a body, a body, someones killed!' shreiked Con Maynard who had been dreaming up a murder mystery.
'Don't be insane Constance Maynard!' shouted Miss Annersley who had been walking past and had heard Cons shreiks, 'Now tell me dear, why do you think there is a body?' she asked more quietly (the screaming youngsters quite quiet).'
'I saw through a little whole in the floor, there's sombody underneath the stage.' Con gasped.
'How may i ask do you know, should you not be looking out into the hall?' Miss Annersley replied briskly.
'yes Miss Annersley, sorry, i .....'
'Well, never mind that for a moment - file out girls, i shall see what this is all about.'

Title: Re: Mary-Lou and the light hearted story.
Post by Emma_N on Sep 6th, 2003, 11:06pm
Immediately following Miss Annersley's command the choir began to file out of Hall. Miss Annersley remained behind as she was determined to find out what had caused Cons outburst. Secretly she was rather concerned as sudden excitement like this usually made Con sleep-walk, and Miss Annersley wanted to avoid this happening.
"Right" she thought to herself "I'll soon see what's behind this stupid theory of Con's..." the sentence was never finished because the opening of the trap-door revealed the young couple to Miss Annersley.
For a second Miss Annersley was too shocked to say anything, this didn't last...
"What on earth" she began "Who is in that in there?, come on out this instance, Come on out"
Mary-Lou and Joseph climbed up through the trap-door looking very sheepish, they had well and truly been caught.
"Mary-Lou!!" Hilda exclaimed once she realised who one of the captives were "and Joseph Laubach. What is the meaning of all this?"
Miss Annersley could guess what had been going on under the stage as she was well aware of the events of the other night. Hilda also knew that she did not want the other pupils to see the young couple leaving Hall together. She literally dragged Joseph into the Annexe using the back route which the girls were not allowed to use. As she left, Hilda told Mary-Lou to follow them into the study after she (Mary-Lou!!) had tidied herself up.
