Title: A Drabble Dedicated to Rachael P!
Post by Ianswythe on Oct 2nd, 2003, 8:45pm
I have dedicated this to Rachael P as her use of cheap sensationalism in entitling a thread Sex at the Chalet School was sheer genius when it came to grabbing people's attention. So here is a short drabble to fit the title.

Sex at the Chalet School
Hilda opened her bedroom door quietly and peeped out into the dim corridor. Pulling her dressing gown more tightly round her she sidled out and scurried down the corridor. Stopping at another door she scratched softly at it, the door opened and a hand reached out and pulled her in. A face looked out and looked up and down and then seemingly satisfied that they weren’t observed retreated and the door closed.
“Well” demanded Nell Wilson, “have you made up your mind?”
“Alright I’ll give it a try!” Hilda sounded unsure. “But only on the condition that we keep it quiet until we decide if like it or not. There is no point in going public and getting everyone worked up and then deciding we don’t like it!” she added firmly.
Nell gave an excited smile, “so where do we do it then, we can’t do it here in case someone hears!”
“How about tomorrow night in the large English room, that way we can do it on the desk.” Hilda suggested,
The two women burst into nervous giggles at the thought of what they were planning but the sound of twanging bedsprings from the next room made them stifle them hurriedly.
“You’d better go, we don’t want to get caught before we have a chance to do it properly,” Nell said.
Hilda nodded and slipped out of the room and back to her rightful bed.

The next day the other mistresses noticed that Miss Annersley and Miss Wilson seemed to be sharing some kind of private joke. However, they didn’t volunteer the information about what was amusing them so much and no one asked. In the staff room that evening the two women kept giving prodigious yawns until finally the entire room were copying their example.
“Dear me, but everyone seems to be very tired tonight. I think we should all head off to bed and get a good nights sleep!” Hilda said briskly jumping to her feet.
The other women looked at one another in surprise, but seeing nothing else for it they agreed and headed for bed even though it was only just after nine.
“We’ll give them an hour to get to sleep and then I’ll meet you there.” Nell whispered to Hilda as they all headed upstairs.
In their respective rooms Hilda and Nell decided it would be best if they got into night-clothes whilst they were waiting. This done they then sat and read until the time came to go to the rendezvous. The time duly arrived and the two women left their room and made their way silently down the stairs. In the large classroom Nell selected a sturdy looking desk and pulled it into position.
“What are you doing?” Hilda asked as Nell pushed down hard on the desk.
“Just checking it will take the weight!” Nell said innocently.

In her office matron put her laundry list away, she had worked till well after ten and now felt in the need of a restorative cup of coffee. Making her way down towards the kitchen her sharp years caught a noise.
“Someone is where she shouldn’t be!” she thought grimly. Walking softly in the direction the noise had come from she finally tracked it down to the largest English classroom. Pausing outside the door she listened carefully to the sounds within.
“Be careful, you hurt me!” a voice said in an aggrieved tone.
“Well put some effort into it, it’ll never work if you don’t put some muscle into it!” the second voice sounded slightly irritated.
“Come on then. Lets hurry up, we don’t have all night!” the voice spoke again.
From within the room came the sounds of huffing and puffing and finally a deep groan.
“What on earth is going on in here!” Matron demanded erupting into the room.
Hilda and Nell flushed and panting, lifted hot faces to matron.
“Hilda! Nell! What are you doing?” Matron sounded shocked.
Hilda and Nell looked at one another and shrugged.
“We have a got a sex education film for the girls to watch and we trying to lift the projector onto the table so we could view it privately and see if it is suitable!” Hilda explained.
“But the projector was too heavy and now Hilda has hurt her back!” Nell added.
“Well really!” Matron tutted before bustling off to get the muscle ointment.

Brilliant although I obviously don't have a pure mind since I wasn't expecting that ending!!

Well, I don't know about Rachel P, but I loved it, a wonderful tease, and a well written short story.

Love it!!! ;D ;D ;D Like everyone else I was thinking of something completely different (and any of you who says different is lying!!! ;)) but the end had me almost crying with laughter! Wish I could be there tomorrow morning when Rachael discovers a drabble with her name on it!

*Emma holds her hand up looking slightly guilty*

I must be another one with a dirty mind because the ending wasn't what I expected ;).  This was an excellent thread, thanks Ianswythe :).

Either I'm a complete innocent, or just devious rather than deviant, because I'd worked out what was going on *smirks complacently*

Joins Xanthe in the innocent department as though I didn't quite work out the ending I guessed it would be something different.

Well done Ianswythe - look forward to Rachael's comments when she sees it.

Having read a LOT of variations on this sort of story in a whole variety of places (I have a friend who writes these for a hobby) I knew it wasn't going to be the obvious, but a definite good giggle all the same ;D

Ray *also a cynic*

Fantastic!  ;D ;D ;D
*smirk* I'm one of the very few innocent minded people on this. I also realised that it wasn't going to be as implied. The rest of you need to do the mental equivalent of washing your mouths out with soap! ;D

Very funny.

I have obviously become equally cynical, but probably only about your stories, Ianswythe, because I knew something was up. Brilliant ending, though!

...ROFL...LMAO...

;D ;D ;D*wishing she could have seen her own face on reading this drabble!* ;D ;D ;D

Cheap sensationalism - moi? I'm sure I should take offence (but as it's true ....  ;D)

Ianswythe - this is brilliant!!
I usually read Drabbles upwards from the last date I read but, of course, went straight to this one! My mind was naturally in the gutter but I was also expecting a twist so I'm pleased you didn't sully Nell and Hilda's reputations!

*Rachael P - highly delighted to have her very own dedicated drabble*

Edith,

When you're writing your reply, click on the "M" button with the arrow pointing to the left (YABBC tags) and write whatever you want to move within the two brackets
(It says Marquee when you hold your cursor over it)

(This works for the colours, font size, quotes etc)
