Probably because my name isn't Lisa T,
or Vikki,
or KB
or Lesley
or
or
or

Actually 'cos I have a headache and am trying to write more of Fights, and read a pile of stuff on gender roles and books for college.

Yibblers, come back please, we need entertainment. ;D ;D

Tara is purely Lisa's domain! The rest of us just throw in the odd (very odd!) suggestion now and then...

"What are we going to do?" Nell whispered to her friend. "She seems determined to kill one or both of us!"
"That's not completely fair," KB put in judicially. "After all, Lesley hasn't actually killed either of you. Yet. The CBBers are trying to prevail upon her to save both of you- particularly you, Miss Annersley."
Nell looked offended. "Why not me?" she demanded.
Vikki gave her a nasty grin. "'Cos you're too sarcastic!" she informed the Head of St. Mildred's. Oh, I'm not saying you don't have a fan base," she added kindly, "but for most people, the Abbess is the ideal Headmistress."
Miss Annersley smirked complacently at this, and Nell gave her a highly unpleasant look. Then KB's remarks clicked.
"You said Lesley hasn't killed either of us yet," she said slowly. "So who has?"
KB looked grave. "Well, Esmeralda killed Bill off," she began, with a nod to that lady, "and Rachel has just bumped the Abbess off!"
"I'm surprised she dared!" Nell commented cattily.
KB struggled to keep her face straight. "Well, er, it was Mary-Lou who did it. She killed everyone!"
"H'mmm. In that case, I'm tempted to forigve Lesley!"
Vikki looked scandalised. "You can't do that!" she protested. "We still don't know if you're going to escape or not!"
"But we already have!" Miss Wilson returned, unanswerably as far as Vikki was concerned. Vikki gave up trying to keep track of paralell universes and subsided.

Does that mean I do understand the parallel universes? And I'm glad to see that I'm being so sensible in all this. But I'd have thought Mary-Lou-the-llama would have been rather upset to hear whichever mistress it was say that about her!

Well thank you KB very nice of you! Especially as it's not yet known what will happen! ;)

*And thanks Lisa!*

*nod to Lesley for pointiing out the correction*

"That's neither here nor there!" Nell declared, waving her arms. "We're sidetracking. The real issue is, will Lesley stick with the evil Miss Fluffy, or will she help us -and you!- to get back to the studios and the Real World? And I suppose it'd be nice if Mary-Lou could be changed back," she added thoughtfully. "I don't think her expedition crew would take too kindly to being ordered around by a llama!"
Vikki looked up, an idea glimmering. "Lesley might help us," she said suddenly. "KB, I've an idea. Who is Lesley's favourite person?"
"The Head," KB returned promptly.
"Exactly. Maybe we should bribe her," Vikk suggested dreamily. "Tell her she has to do what we say. *If* she does, she gets to meet Hilda. Um." Vikki stopped and went scarlet.
"Who gave you permission to use my Christian name?" Miss Annersley demanded, at her stateliest.
Vikki looked around for inspiration. None was forthcoming. "Er. We all do it!" she added in a squeak.
"Then that is extremely impertinent of you!" Hilda told her severely. "If- IF, I say- we all escape, I may allow you both to address me as Auntie Hilda. For the moment, we will stay on formal terms!"

But if the people can't understand Llama speak, does mary-Lou-the-llama understand people speak?

Title: Re: CS and Tara again   FCS
Post by Lesley on Oct 31st, 2003, 11:40pm
Technically that's not blackmail, that's bribery! And yes, to get the chance to meet Hilda herself I'd walk on water! ;D
Let alone betray Liss the Fluffy Bunny!

Post by Lisa_T on Oct 31st, 2003, 11:42pm
Yes she does.
*******************
Vikki went red again, but KB was too interested in what she had to say to worry about the Head's rebuke.
"Carry on," she urged. "You might be on to something!"
Vikki recovered in a hurry. "Well, if we get away, Lesley gets to meet the Head. That doesn't mean you need to be nice," she added to that lady, who nodded.
"And if she doesn't help?" KB asked, a look of wicked delight dawning on her face.
"We turn her into a-a a green and purple striped mouse with an extremely long tale (sorry, tail!) and luminous pink whiskers........"
"She can have both," KB put in with a snicker. "Real CS is a long tale and she can have a long tail.."
The two Heads looked confused. "What are you talking about?" Nell demanded suspiciously.
Vikki looked as innocent as she could- an activity at which she had had plenty of practice. "Nothing, Miss Wilson," she responded demurely. But Bill had not dealt with Alixe von Elsen for nothing, and she gave Vikki an extremely cautious look. She was gradually coming to the opinion that this so-called Second Prefect would bear watching!
"I've had another idea," KB put in. They turned to look at her, and she giggled. "We'll do as Vikki said, but we'll give her a lion's head! Lesley said she liked cats, didn't she?"

Great.
Rachel couldn't have killed Hilda, as Mary-Lou disappeared into the sunset with her? But then again, she definatly killed her near the beginning? Did I read a name wrong somewhere??

Glad I havn't killed either of them. Yet.

*sigh* Well I think Rachel has ended up not reeeeally killing Hilda, but I'm as confused as everyone else. As for you Carolyn, try any Lesleyitis and you may find yourself popping up...

Have you seen the hints I posted. I think you could all have worked out the entire plot if you has put your brains into steep. I couldn't have been more blatent about the letters could I? And as for the next events, I thougvht you would all know what was coming up.

By the way I'm allergic to cats, so don't you dare try it or I'll sneeze all over you. (Dogs just give me a headache.)

??? When did Rachael kill Hilda, or possibly not kill her. or...
or..or   I give up I'm getting confused.

And why do people keep telling Bill that I killed her?  The poor woman was caught up in an earthquake - I didn't suddenly go berserk and attack her with a carving knife!

Title: Re: CS and Tara again   FCS
Post by KB on Nov 1st, 2003, 1:58am
Rachel killed Hilda in the Halloween special (okay, she didn't but she did, if you get my drift). And whether you attacked her with a knife or not, she still died in a story that was your sole responsibility, which makes it your fault! ;D

Thanks - I read the Halloween storyu straight after this, and felt like a total eedjit for asking the question.

OK maybe I was slightly responsible for Bill's unfortunate demise. but that still doesn't mean that people have to keep telling her - I hope I don't come face to face with her if/when she escapes in the Real CS, but I bet she plays golf.

Loving this Lisa - more soon please

ok Vikki. I grant that you have reason for feeling picked on,especially when KB is being so superiorly sensible. (I know that's not a word). So she can be next in the firing line. Or maybe Lesley. Or Miss Fluffy..or even CArolyn..

Vikki, take comfort in the fact that you've given us so much fun, especially as a llama. And the worst has happened to you, the rest of us are still in suspenders (to quote KB).

Reading this thread with nrevous anticipation, but looking forward to seeing Lesley come face to face with Miss Annersley.

(I still find it hard to say Hilda, although I do make myself use it, but I'd never call her auntie.)

"It's time we stopped hanging around here," Vikki announced resolutely. "We need to behave like strong women, and not spineless jellyfish!"
"Says she who was a gibbering wreck a minute ago," KB muttered sotto voce, gaining herself an extremely unpleasant look from the Second Prefect.
"That's enough yibbling for one time," she told KB severely. "As if it isn't bad enoujgh that you keep me up all night yattering nonsense, now you're trying to sabotage my perfectly good escape plan!" Kb spluttered incoherently, and Vikki turned to the two Heads and the llama. "Are you all agreed?"
Miss Annersley and Miss Wilson nodded as one, and Mary-Lou looked intently at Vikki with her strange eyes, and Vikki shivered.
"OK then! Let's get cracking!" She turned to the door and pulled. It remained locked, and Vikki looked anxiously at KB.
"You don't think-"
Nell looked alarmed at this. "It's not EBD is it? Or-or what's her name. The one from the Hunchback of Notre Dame," she added helpfully.
KB and Vikki stared at her blankly.
"She means Esmeralda," the Head explained. "Really, you two! Do you mean to tell me that after dear knows how many years of formal education, your knowledge of literature is so sadly lacking?"
"It's not our fault!" Vikki protested, having decided it was silly to be scared of a fictional character. "If we didn't spend so much time reading Chalet School and on the CBB, I'd have more time to read improving literature and KB'd be able to finish her thesis!"

Title: Re: CS and Tara again   FCS
Post by Lisa_T on Nov 1st, 2003, 9:41pm
"We're sidetracking again," Nell reminded them, and KB and Vikki looked at each other and grinned- unaccountably, as far as the Heads were concerned. Neither explained. It was more important to get out of the house! After several moments of pointless banging and thumping by both prefects, they eventually subsided onto the floor.
"It's no go," KB said ruefully. "We're imprisoned!"
At that moment a billow of blood red smoke appeared in the fireplace, and they all stared wordlessly, wondering what would happen next.

A figure in black draperies and a pointy hat emerged from the smoke, followed by two strange creatures that the occupants of the farmhouse barely even noticed.
“It’s the Wicked Witch of the West!” exclaimed Nell in shock.
“*Rachel*!” burst from KB and Vikki, in union.
Rachel the Witch gave an evil cackle. “Mmmwhahahahaha! You were all wrong, weren’t you?”
Vikki looked past her to the figures behind her, and she gasped. “KB, look!”
KB did so, and to the astonishment of everyone else, promptly doubled up in hysterics.
The witch’s minions looked affronted. Both were dressed in flying monkey suits- neither of which actually flew. However, the real oddity was their heads. One had the head of a Fluffy Bunny with very large fleurescent pink ears, and the other had the head of a cat with ridiculously long whiskers. Both looked very pleased with themselves and it was obvious that neither realised how absurd they looked, thus explaining KB’s giggles.
“Are you going to let us out?” Nell demanded of Rachel the Witch. Rachel gave her an evil smile, and straightened her pointy hat. “I haven’t decided yet. Wouldn’t you much rather stay here? I may have a cunning plan..” and a malicious smile spread across her face.
KB looked at Vikki. “Halloween?” she whispered.
Vikki, one eye on Rachel, nodded slightly. “She must want to clone us,” she returned in an undertone. “Do you think those two are clones, by the way?” and she nodded at the Monkey-Cat and the Monkey-Fluffy-Bunny.
KB looked at them closely. “I don’t think so,” she said at last. “They don’t look at all vacant. In fact,” she added, “they both look extremely pleased with themselves. I wonder if Lesley has realised just who is in this room?”

But Lesley had been too busy admiring her costume to pay attention to external matters. "Well, Vikki, I'm only too happy to find out. Let's get to know each other, shall we?" She gave them a silly grin that made KB, at least, doubt her sanity, and broke into an extremely off pitch rendition of 'Getting To Know You' that made everyone including her own companions wince. However, when she got to the line "haven't you noticed, suddenly I'm bright and breezy" she broke off with a strangled gurgle. Vikki grinned as she watched Lesley's eyes pop out of her head.
"Well?" she asked sweetly.
Lesley went a violent shade of violet. "The Abbess!" she gasped. She turned frantically, only to find that her erstwhile accomplices had blocked the only available escape route- the chimney.

Lesley gave a gulp and turned slowly to face the startled women.
"Who is this?" Hilda demanded, taking in the sooty costume and the wild headress that had been knocked askew by Lesley's desperate attempt at running.
Vikki pulled her face as straight as she could. "Miss Annersley, Lesley Green. Lesley, the Abbess!" At that point Vikki could no longer remain sober and a giggle escaped her.
The Head looked Lesley up and down with a cold grey eye. Then she remained silent for a full minute, until Lesley started to stutter.
"Please, it isn't finished yet," she squeaked.
"So you haven't killed us-yet," Nell commented drily. "And we're supposed to be grateful for that, are we?"
"Er-yes. I mean, no."
"Apart from that," Miss Annersley added in her iciest tones, "you have caused a great deal of suffering to both Miss Wilson and myself. Not to mention your unfortunate companions," and the Head gestured towards KB and Vikki, who did their best to look innocent.
Lesley made one attempt at self defence. "Please, I haven't killed you. Rachel did! She wanted your blood to feed the.." Lesley's voice trailed off as Rachel gave a maniacal (sp?) cackle.
"Wasn't that a good idea?" she trilled. "Mary-Lou is *much* scarier than old EBD!"
Lesley, Hilda and Nell glared at her. "Speak for yourself!" Lesley returned hotly. "How would you like being swallowed in a mist and having your actions controlled against your will?"
"What do you call plot bunnies?" Rachel shot back, and she giggled at the look on Lesley's face. She gave a contemptuous wave of her hand. "Oh you're no use!" she snapped. "You're not blood thirsty enough. Let's see. Esmeralda, perhaps? Or Vikki. That was a lovely scene with the watermelon," she mused.
Vikki looked horrified. "No. No! Absolutely not! Forget it! Miss Annersley!" and she turned in panic to the Head.

*Apologies to Vikki- again! But it'll work out, honest!*

Rachel and Hilda faced each other across the crowded room. Their eyes locked, and to everyone's amazement, Rachel dropped her gaze after a moment.
"Oh very well," she said sulkily. "I'll let you go."
"All of us?" queried the Head, with a strange sense of deja vu.
Rachel gave her a nasty smile. "All of you. Including Lesley. Fluffy is staying with me." She paused to give dramatic weight to her next words. "And so is Victoria. I need her lurid imagination to help me kill more of you! MWahahahaha!"
Rachel threw her head back in order to cackle more effectively, but the impact was spoilt by her hat falling off, and, despite their worry, the others could not help but snigger.
Unfortunately, Rachel's awareness that she had made a fool of herself did nothing to improve her temper. She slammed the hat back on her head at an awkward angle. Not surprisingly, it fell off again. She picked it up and glared at it. Then she turned her gaze to Nell. "Pins!"
Nell gaped. "I'm sorry?"
"Hairpins, you dimwit!" shrieked the witch.
"Oh. I see." With as much dignity as she could muster, Nell extracted several strong hairpins from her snowy hair, and handed them silently over to the witch, who used them to secure her hat.
The effect was a little odd, but it evidently made her feel more able to play her part. With a further leer at the unfortunate Vikki, she turned to her remaining minion, who was looking rather sorrowfully after Lesley. The Head had pulled Lesley over to stand beside her after Lesley's defence of them, and KB and Vikki had helped her out of her strange costume with much enthusiasm. Fortunately, the costume had only been evolved by Rachel that morning, so Lesley was fully dressed.
"Fluffy!" barked Rachel.
Fluffy jerked to attention. Rachel nodded at Vikki. "See her? Tie 'er up. And take her with you!"

Title: Re: CS and Tara again   FCS
Post by Lisa_T on Nov 2nd, 2003, 2:30am
Fluffy went bright pink- an unwise choice of colour, given her outfit. Vikki stared at her as she advanced. It was impossible to feel scared of someone dressed as a flying monkey and a fluffy bunny, she thought. Just as Fluffy had produced her ropes and mumbled something about having to tie her up, they all heard something clatter on the window.
With one accord, they turned.
Outside, hovering over the ground, was a huge oldfashioned brass bedstead, with large knobs at each post. Seated there was woman whom Lesley, Vikki and KB all recognised. To their amazement, the Head recognised her too.
"Carolyn!" she exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"
Carolyn gave her a grin as she landed the bed smoothly. She nodded with satisfaction when she realised that beyond a few squashed plants,. no harm had been done. Bed flying was a risky business! Carefully removing the knob from one of the posts, she slid off the bed and approached the window.
"Miss Price sent me," she explained. "Auntie Hilda, are you OK?"
Nell turned to her friend in amazement. "Is this another brevet neice?" she asked curiously.
Miss Annersley shook her head. "No. Carolyn really *is* my neice. She's my younger brother's youngest daughter. His seventh," she added meaningly.
Realisation dawned, and the company stared at Carolyn with rounded 'o's for mouths, like so many goldfish.
Carolyn looked at them, unfazed. "Yes. I'm a witch too. I've come to the rescue!"

Kill Bill is by all accounts a very bloodthirsty film and rated 18.

To be quite honest i haven't decided if I will kill neither, one or both, and if one which one. I think it might depend on Hilda's answer to her last letter and Kathies reactions to events.

*Still in mourning but slightly recovered after a night's sleep. Although, I had the strangest dreams, but never mind that!*

Carolyn came to peer in through the window and Rachel gave another wild cackle.
"That must be hurting you," Nell told her sarcastically, having resented being called a dimwit. "If you decide you need lozenges, don't come running to me!"
Rachel put her head back to emit another cackle when KB, Carolyn and Vikki all quite literally froze. After a moment they recovered, and they exchanged horrified glances.
"Did you get what I got?" KB hissed at them.
Carolyn nodded through the window, her eyes filling.
"Where's that blasted tissue box?" Vikki muttered with a sniff.
"What's wrong?" Nell asked in alarm. The CBBers turned together to glare at Lesley.
"We have telepathic links with the CBB," KB began. "We have just received communication that Hilda has been unable to escape!"
"And the CBB is in turmoil!" Vikki added, wiping her eyes on her sleeve.
Hilda darted an extremely frosty glance at Lesley. "I see." It was all she said, but Lesley flushed.
"It wasn't my fault!" she began defensively. "That was what the plot bunny dictated!"
"Then you should have kept your plot bunny under better control!" Hilda snapped back.
Nell turned to look at Rachel and Fluffy thoughtfully. The latter was still trying to convince Vikki that she wanted to be tied up, but Vikki simply shrugged her off. A meditative look came into Nell's eyes. Then she turned back to Rachel.
"It seems, Rachel," she observed, "that you may have been mistaken about Lesley's bloodthirstyness. Suppose you release Vikki, and take Lesley back? I don't think we want her with us, right now!"
Lesley began to protest, but the CBBers fell on this idea with howls of delight.
Rachel gave everyone an unpleasant grin. "That's all very well," she told them with a smirk. "But can I point out that, no matter what's happening on the CBB, you lot have no way of escaping at the present time?"

Title: Re: CS and Tara again   FCS
Post by Lisa_T on Nov 3rd, 2003, 10:10pm
"That's not the issue," KB said very quietly, although she was white. The latest news to come from the CBB had traumatised them all. "Right now, we want vengeance!" She turned to Lesley.
"Rachel, take her. Do what you like to her!"
"Does that mean I can eat her with new potatoes and mint sauce with raspberry crumble for dessert?" Rachel asked hopefully.
"You can do what you like!" KB returned ruthlessly.
Rachel's eyes lit up with delight and she yanked Lesley over towards her before handing her over to the now gleeful Miss Fluffy. "Tie 'er up," she ordered. "Then get started on the preparations. You know what to do!" She gave soft laugh that sounded more sinister than her wild cackling of earlier.
At that point, Carolyn managed to smash the window, and they all turned to gasp at her.
"How did you do that?" her aunt demanded.
Carolyn scrambled in through the resulting hole and crossed the room to put her hand on her aunt's shoulder. Silently, she held up her other hand, and Vikki gave a sudden grin as she saw what was held there.
"A corkscrew?" queried the Head.
Carolyn gave them a smile. "Yes. I thought it would be useful. It helped me to break the window. And now-" she stopped and looked from it to Rachel, and back again.
The witch looked at her hopefully.

Carolyn looked at the Head again and back at Lesley. Then she turned to Rachel. "Hand Vikki over," she said briefly. To their amazement, Rachel did so. Once Vikki was safely over beside KB, Carolyn silently handed the corkscrew over to Rachel.
"It's all yours!"
Rachel smirked. "Thank you kindly! Now we're off! Enjoy your present!" and with a wild whirl of her hand, they all -Fluffy, Lesley and Rachel- disappeared in a puff of lime green smoke. It didn't have gold bits in it though.
Those remaining breathed a sigh of relief.
"Now let's get out of here!" Vikki declared joyfully, going over to the window. To her amazement, she was unable to put her hand out of even the hole. She turned to the others, looking puzzled. "Wha-?"
Hilda and Carolyn looked worried. "It's a one way spell!" the latter exclaimed. "People can get in- but we can't get out!"
The others groaned and Nell subsided in a heap on the floor.
"Don't be such a spineless jellyfish!" Vikki told her sharply.
Nell ignored her and put her head in her hands.
Hilda looked thoughtful. "I wonder-"
They turned to her with faces full of hope.
"What?" KB demanded peremptorily.
Hilda turned to her neice. "Did Miss Price give you the words of that spell?"

Carolyn looked like the cat who had got at the cream. "I did."
"Well, use it then!" retorted Hilda impatiently.
Carolyn smiled. "Patience, patience," she retorted provokingly. Vikki began to dance with annoyance, but KB gave her a yank. "Settle down, you," she muttered. "The more you nag, the longer she'll take. And I'm getting peckish."
Vikki looked at her. "Ooooh-er, KB! I hope you aren't suggesting that you might like to utilise one of Rachel's charming recipes?"
KB looked meditative. "I always did like filo parcels," she remarked.
"I wish you'd all stop nattering and get on with this blimmin' spell!" Nell complained from the floor.
"Really, Nell!" began Hilda, and everyone chorused "Your English!" causing the Head to look a little affronted.
"Anyway, the spell!" announced Carolyn with a flourish. "First we need..." and she extracted a miniature - very miniature- suitcase from her pocket.
Everyone looked at it curiously. "What's that?" KB wanted to know.
Carolyn settled herself comfortably. "Well, we can't get out. We can be invaded, though, and if we can merge with the invaders we can find a way of escape."
"How do you mean?" Nell asked, speaking for them all.
"You see," explained Carolyn, bending over by the fire, "there is something very important in this little bag. It has a spell attached to it which will be activated by a series of important words."
"Which are?" demanded Vikki, forgetting KB's warning.
Carolyn opened her mouth to reply, but then her expression went blank.

Hilda raised one finely groomed eyebrow. "Yes?"
Carolyn looked worried. "I've forgotten it," she whispered.
The faces around her fell. "But didn't you write it down somewhere?" the Head protested, her voice sharp with disappointment.
Carolyn's face lit up again. "Of course I did! It's in my notebook!"
"Get it out then!" snapped Vikki, at the end of her tether.
Carolyn scowled as she dug through the rubbish in her pockets. Her watchers gaped as she produced a pen, a very long and complicated looking family tree that no-one could read. and a miniature tool box filled with all sorts of weird and wonderful things.
"Where is it?" KB asked, anxiously scanning the pile of debri for a notepad. But then Carolyn gave a screech of delight and pounced on a minature palmtop notebook.
"That's not a notebook," Miss Annersley told her doubtfully.
Her neice glared at her. "Oh get with the times, Auntie Hilda, do! A notebook is another term for a small computer."
The Head subsided, thoroughly crushed for once.

Carolyn flipped open her notebook. She did some quick typing, apparently oblivious to the intent looks that were coming her way. After a moment she looked up.
"I've found the file," she told them. There was a long sigh of relief.
"And?" queried the Head tensely. She had already had one unpleasant experience lately and did not want to endure another!
Carolyn wrinkled her brow. "There's a password set on it," she said slowly. She stared at the small screen for some moments.
"Don't tell me, let me guess," snapped KB crossly. "You can't remember the password!"
Carolyn looked haughty. "Nonsense! Of course I can remember it!"
"Well put it in then!" screeched Vikki.
"Patience is a virtue," muttered Carolyn. "Possess it if you can. It's often found in witches, but never in a hu-MAN!"

I think you have me down to a T.
I'm impressed you remembered I use a notebook, and loved your use of my toolbox from the Lesley drabble, noticed the corkscrew earlier as well.

Something makes me think you are all waiting for something from me!

Love the idea of telling Hilda to get with the times. Nice to know I'm not easily quashable.

You know what I'm going to say now Lisa, and it begins with M and ends with E.

*giggles* I love the bit where Hilda was affronted. As for Vikki being impatient, it's great the way your characterisations are so accurate, Lisa!

Carolyn screwed her face into such a grimace that KB looked at her in awe. “Do you reckin if she gets a shock now she’ll stay that way?” she whispered wickedly to Vikki, causing her to giggle uncontrollably.
“Aha!” Carolyn smirked at them all and typed quickly.
“Did you spell it right?” Vikki jeered.
Carolyn sniffed and deemed it might be as well to ignore her. Then she beamed as the desired file flashed up on her computer. “I got it!”
“Not before time,” grumbled Nell, still prostrate on the floor.
Carolyn glared at her. “Listen, Auntie Nell, would you like to stick around for a time, or are you so keen to shuffle off this mortal coil? I’m sure that could be arranged!”
KB and Vikki gaped in admiration. In the past five minutes Carolyn had managed to effectively squash two of the most formidable women either had encountered. They looked at their fellow CBBer with a little more respect than heretofore.
Carolyn looked at her screen again and rose to her feet. Then she looked for something wavable. “A wand?” she asked her aunt hopefully.
Hilda shook her head sorrowfully. “It broke!”
“I suppose you were trying fancy spells again,” sniffed her neice. “When will you learn to let higher magic well alone? You’re much better at giving lectures behind closed doors!”
Carolyn looked about her thoughtfully, and had an idea. “Auntie Hilda! Give me one of those super long old fashioned hairpins of yours for a sec.”
In surprise, Hilda did as she was asked, and after a few seconds of playing with the wire to bend it into the desired shape, Carolyn nodded.
“Right! “ She faced the chimney, and spoke as authoritatively as she could. “Bagus, leviosa!”
The little bag shot up about 50 cm and hovered in the air. Carolyn grinned to herself. This was her moment of glory! KB and Vikki would never be horrible again. Carolyn gave a beatific smile at the prospect of a future minus periodic shrieks and chants of ‘more’ from the Head Girl and Second Prefect.

*shakes head at the maliciousness of certain people* *oh very well!*

Carolyn took a deep breath "Satisdeetreguna!" she said with a fluency that left the others bereft of their own breath. To everyone's surprise, the little bag hovered where it was for a moment. But then the zip opened and a shoe came flying out to hit Nell on the head.
"I see you've already decided to finish me off!" that lady told Carolyn huffily as she rubbed her forehead.
Carolyn blushed. "I'm awfully sorry, Auntie Nell," she said earnestly. "That wasn't supposed to happen."
Nell's grunt told the others that she begged to differ, and they grinned themselves.
"I wish we had some rations," the Head announced anxiously as she watched her neice struggle with her memory and her tongue. "If we're going to be here for a while, I'd like to know we shan't starve."
"Oh we shan't," Vikki told her with studied seriousness. "All we need is something to get a fire going, and then we can roast Mary-Lou and have her for dinner. It's a shame we haven't got the new potatoes or mint sauce," she added. "I've a feeling that llama and mint sauce might be quite a nice combination."
If Vikk had hoped for a reaction to her pleasing suggestion she was disappointed. Mary-Lou had collapsed some time before and was currently snoring loudly and contentedly. In fact, she was so deep in sleep that everyone had forgotten about her.
Hilda looked worried. "I'd forgotten about Mary-Lou," she admitted. "Carolyn, can you do something about her?"
"Don't interrupt!" her neice retorted, and Hilda twisted her hands together in a convulsive movement. Nell grinned up at her.
"Itchy hands, Hilda? I know the feeling!"
Hilda gave her a distracted smile and turned back to watching Carolyn, who had been muttering under her breath.
"I got it! Tregunasatisdee!" This attempt was no  more successful than the first had been, but this time the only victim was Carolyn herself. The little chimney gave a sudden belch and Carolyn found herself covered in a fine black poweder and irritated her own nose, but miraculously seemed not to affect anyone else.

*giggles hysterically* So why can't Hilda take a hairpin and get them out of there? Or at least conjure up something other than purple llama to eat!

*Cos Hilda doesn't know the spell!*

Nell looked at the black object in front of her and gave vent to a sniff. "Well, really! Carolyn, if you can't do any better than that, I think we'll have to have you for dinner instead of poor Mary-Lou!" Nell grinned maliciously at the look that crossed the younger woman's face.
"I know it, I really do!" she protested.
"It doesn't look like it!" Vikki told her acerbically, from where she was curled on the floor.
"That's 'cos you lot will keep on nattering and yabbing!" Carolyn shouted frantically waving her arms to give emphasis to her words. "You need to all-oops, sorry Auntie Hilda."
Miss Annersley took a step back from CArolyn, who had narrowly avoided braining her. She gave her niece her famous icy look, and despite her own resolve, Carolyn felt her cocky certainty begin to drain. Once the Head was sure Carolyn was suitably deflated, she spoke. Her voice cracked.
"If you have quite finished wasting our time, I'm sure we would all appreciate it if you would get us out of here." She paused. "Otherwise, I will summon my owl and tell him to carry a message to Dumbledore, recommending that you be removed from the Practical Magic Register."
Carolyn went white at this threat, but she recovered herself. "Rats!" she said rudely. "How're you gonna get the owl here anyway?"
Miss Annersley gave her a calm smile. "My dear girl, I may not be as proficient in the magical arts as Minerva McGonagall, but I am not a fool." And she reached into her jacket to withdraw a small, sleepy and somewhat grumpy white owl. Like it's owner, it was possessed of piercing grey eyes, and CArolyn, subjected to that twin battery, began to feel as if what was left of her would fit in a thimble.

oh it wasn t me. I intended everything to work out well for you, Carolyn, seeing as how you came to the rescue. But then certain others wanted to see you fall flat on your face, so i put it in as a diversion. C'mon. Surely you're not that scared of facing Hilda and her owl (whom i nearly called Hildegarde. Just restrained myself in time!)

Well i was actually trying to think of a witchy sounding name that had some part of 'Hilda' in it, but your idea is even better!
Now where did I leave this..oh yes.
*******************
She directed what she hoped was an ingratiating smile at both the Head and the owl. "Heh. Well, I never said you were a fool, Aun- Miss Annersley," she finished meekly, having recieved another basilisk stare from the pair.
"Do you know the correct words?" he aunt asked sweetly.
"They're here," Carolyn mumbled. "I jus' need to work out how to say them!"
"In correct English, I hope!" the Head pointed out with great dignity.
"Spells aren't English!" Carolyn retorted, having recovered herself. "I meant the emphasis!"
"At this rate we're gonna be here til  Christmas!" Vikki wailed.
Carolyn heaved a deep sigh. "Oh, very well!" Then she intoned, "Give me the power that's far beyond the wildest notion!"
"That doesn't sound like a spell!" Vikki muttered.
"SHHHHH!" hissed KB, worried about interuppting.
Carolyn ignored them and continued. "Treguna,  Mekoides,  Tracorum, Satis, Dee!"
Vikki sat up and looked interested. "I know those words from somewhere!"
"'Course you do!" KB agreed. "It's in Bedkn-" she broke off and stared. The little bag had whizzed up the chimney, and they all raced to a window to see what happened next.
It grew. And grew. And then just as KB was becoming convinced that it was going to grow until it either popped or extinguished the hapless prisoners in the farmhouse, something emerged from the bag....
