Title: The Chewed Plastic Fairy
Post by Rachel on Dec 27th, 2003, 9:07pm
Bruno was in a mischievous mood. The whole family had gone out, he knew not where, and cared even less, but he felt in the mood for activity, with nobody to share the moment with.

Of course, Anna was in the kitchen, but she was no good. She preferred slapping him with a slipper to rolling around the floor barking, so he gave the kitchens a wide berth, and padded softly through the other rooms instead.

He paused as he reached the door to the Salon, his eyes gleaming in the reflected light of the christmas tree. He really liked the look of this tree, but for some reason, Master and Mistress always made him stay away. He glanced over his shoulder to be certain there was nobody waiting to pounce on him, and ambled into the room to take a closer look at this enticing tree.

As he snuffled round the base of the tree, the urge came over him to make sure that everyone knew this was his tree, so he did what only male dogs can do so well, and marked it as his own personal territory. A dopey doggy grin appeared on his face with the satisfaction of making this prize possession his own, and he leaned his weight ever so slightly against the branch he was currently flavouring. The tree trembled slightly, and then some more as he leaned even further towards it.

With a humungous crash, the entire tree tipped over, unable to bear the weight of the St. Bernard. He scrabbled out from the wreckage, and then "wuffed" joyfully as he spotted the tacky pink fairy lying on the floor where it had skittered after the top of the tree thudded to the floor. Bruno grasped it firmly in his mouth, and ran from the room, knowing that the scene was the kind that usually resulted in a firm spanking for him.

In his secret hidey hole, in the cupboard where the shoes were kept, Bruno spent a happy hour chewing his new friend. He chewed the snot green wings, he chewed the fluorescent pink frock, he chewed the orange hair. At length, all that was left was a naked pink plastic doll, adorned with plenty of tooth marks. Later still, and all that remained of the famous fairy was one foot, which slipped beneath a pile of shoes, and was found several months later.

Out of curiosity, what happened to all the dire things you and Carolyn threatened us with prior to Christmas, Rachel? ;)

Joey skidded on the foot as she searched through the cupboard for her parasol. She sat down with a bump and rubbed her behind, grimacing as she did so. She reached underneath her ample form and pulled out the still soggy foot. Holding it between finger and thumb, at arms length she carried it through to the kitchen where she asked Anna to wash it. Anna sighed as she left the baking till later and pushed the huge pile of washing up out of the way in order to complete this much more important task.

Jack on his return home from the San that night was presented with the foot almost as soon as he walked into the house.
“It’s a foot,” he said, rather puzzled.
“Yes, but whose, and more to the point what are we going to do with it?”
“Well, it has obviously been there for rather a long time. Have you looked to see if there is anymore?”
“Yes, I found these as well.” Joey handed Jack a remnant of snot coloured cloth, a single strand of orange fibre and what looked like a small piece of plastic with a eye crudely printed on it. “Do you think,” she broke off, unable to finish the dreadful thought.
“Yes, it looks as if Bruno has been up to his old tricks again. I’m very much afraid that he has gone too far this time. As well as eating threads, he has now started consuming CBBers themselves.”
“I won’t give him up.”
“Don’t worry, I know what to do.”
Jack waited for the cover of darkness before carrying out his plan. First he took the tray containing the remnants of the fairy and burnt its contents. Then he racked out the fire and took the ashes to the garden where he spread them on the compost heap. A short while later he could be seen in his study, sat in his study before the computer frowning. After some thought he started tapping at the keyboard, determined that no-one would ever suspect the truth about the Thread Eating Monster.

But Lisa, on this thread, nothing has been done to me! Anyway I was only expressing that I was enjoying the story. I have no liking for pain whatsoever - either causing it in others or experiencing it myself.

Joey waited in the Salon for Bruno to make a reappearance. She knew from experience that there was nopoint in hunting for him, as the more she chased him, the more he enjoyed it.

Eventually her patience paid off, and Bruno sauntered into the room, faltering for a moment at the sight of Joey's face.

"Yes, you bad boy! You may well hang your head in shame! I am sick to death of us having to cover up for your naughty habits, and I give you fair warning, this time is to be the very last! Do you hear me?"

Bruno hung his head even further. He knew what the next threat would be, and he was not wrong.

"Now listen to me Bruno, I am going to have to spank you for your own good," said Joey brandishing a slipper as she spoke. Bruno submitted with good will to the spanking, and waited for Joey to finish.

"Now Bruno, please make sure this doesn't happen again, or I really will have to tell Frieda."
"Sorry Joey," said Bruno, and scurried away.

Frieda meanwhile had her own problems. The plot bunnies had forgotten her and that meant she was ceasing to exist. She had tried cooking with carrots, building huge warrens and even dressing like a female bunny and waggling her pretty little white cottontail. All to no avail. She was gradually fading away, and whilst he had shown some interest in the bunny outfit Bruno was spending more and more time at Freudesheim.

It was in desperation that Frieda tried writing her own story. She had logged into the CBB as a guest and determined to give herself some reality, or at least some revenge on those who had ignored her. Things were not going to plan however, no matter what she started Joey ended up as the central figure. She threw yet another scrunched up piece of paper in the bin and dropped her head to the keyboard, almost crying in frustration. That was when she noticed she had faded so much she had partially sunk into the computer. It was a weird sensation, voices where whispering in her ear. Frieda quickly whipped her head away; she would not listen to these stories, although the ones that portrayed Joey as the evil manipulator she was had a strong attraction for her.

Frieda floated away from the computer, fading even as she rose from her seat. When Bruno padded into the house later that evening it was to find the house empty, and the computer flashing in the corner. He walked over and began to chew on the mouse.

I felt great this morning!

Had a lovely sleep and my daddy brought me a cup of tea in bed - kids even went away downstairs to watch "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" leaving me to have a bath with no little voices talking at me through the door, or worse still, wandering INTO the bathrooom, looking at me  lying in the bath and asking "Are you having a baby?"

I can assure you that *I* wasn't laughing!

That was actually what prompted me to go on a diet and lose some weight!

Thanks Vikki, sometimes little things like that bring back memories.  I also know now why people used to say I hate New Year, I feel a bit like that too nowadays.

Yes, the holes always seem more visible over the holidays.  Still working on it.  So far the best tactic has been a bit of tradition restructuring.  (compared to the avoidance and keep-things-as-normal-as-possible techniques.)

We have done that too. Though it does help it doesn't cure.
