Somewhere, someone suggested Holocaust II (of course I can't find the thread now!!!!). Anyway, to make this possible, a miracle must take place. So here it is.

Resurrection

The being who had been EBD looked down from Heaven on the devastation that was the planet Earth – at the ruins from the nuclear strikes, the bodies lying in gruesome piles across the world, the gap that had been Wales, and the bare and crumpled area that had been Canada, and sighed. This had happened as a result of the books she had written? It didn’t seem possible, but the evidence was there in front of her. She felt that she had some responsibility in the matter, and pondered on what she should do. Finally she nodded to herself, and went to seek help. When she had the group of authors gathered about her, she smiled around at them.
“You have seen what has happened on the Earth,” she said. “Will you help me to put things right?”
“Of course we will,” said Angela Brazil, and a chorus arose from the group echoing the promise. Far at the back of the group, two people were lurking who had not been invited, and they looked at each other and grimaced.
“All our hard work undone!” muttered Rachel.
“They’ll be clamouring for Holocaust part 2 before we know where we are!” complained Carolyn.
They watched in fascination as the group of famous authors went to work. Before their eyes the wrecked planet was healed of its wounds. The cloned Mateys merged into one person, and gradually all the folk who had been slaughtered came back to life. Even the two who had caused the havoc were restored, and found themselves at home as if nothing had happened. The famous authors smiled in satisfaction, and went about their normal business in Heaven once more.
On Earth, the CBB sprang back into life, and chanting for more drabble continued as if it had never stopped. All was well, especially in Kate’s eyes as she had been rather lonely, and very scared of the Mateys.

I can only speak for myself, (but I am sure Carolyn will agree when she eventually reads this thread):

If you want Holocaust II - The Resurrection, go and write it yourself!

Weel, Im kinda relieved to find that the world is back to normal, Pat, but I can't believe that you've only done it so that it can be subject to wholesale wanton destruction once more!
Good idea though.

I AGREE. FULL STOP END OF STORY (as far as Rachel and I are concerned)

If you want any more write it yourself, just be sure to be original.

WITHOUT wanting to sound overly precious, Carolyn and I have discussed this idea and would just like to say a few things on the subject.

Holocaust was our idea, and it ran until it was exhausted. Please do not try to flog a dead horse. It wont make it work. We don't wish to stifle people's creative urges, but we would appreciate it if you would find an original idea. Use your own ideas - there are plenty of good ones around - but don't rehash ours.

This is really just a general reminder that Holocaust was our idea, and therefore to a certain extent is our baby, it went as far as it could. Please leave it there. Smile

This "Resurrection" story is a great way of making sure we are all alive and kicking, now that we are (many thanks Aunty!) let's just stay this way.

edit to say I helped to draft this and agree in every way, Carolyn

Tahnk you, Rachel and Carolyn for Holocaust, thank you Pat for 'Resurrection'

I do agree with the above three, trying to go back really doesn't work.
