Hello all, in the CBB world, I am Shander.
At last I have had some time to write, so here is a little something.
Many thanks to those who wrote My India Diary and Shocks for the
Chalet School for their inspiration. This is my take on how Joey
telling Jack worked out.

Joey and Jack: Their engagement based on the events in My India Dairy
and Shocks for the Chalet School

"Joey, will you marry me?"
Jo looked at Jack with a mixture of love and anguish in her eyes. She
was silent for a moment, and when she spoke, her voice was choked and
teary.
"Jack, of course I do but there's something you need to know first,
and if you don't want to be married to me after, I'll understand."
"Joey there's nothing you could do to…."
Jo interrupted him,
"Wait till you've heard before you decide that. I need your word
though, that you won't tell a soul; even Madge and Jem don't know
this."
By this time, Jack was becoming more and more concerned over what Jo
could possibly have to tell him. His voice was serious, yet
compassionate as he assured her he would tell no one.

"Come sit, then" she said wearily.
"Do you remember when Robin and I went to India?"
Jack nodded silently
"There was a couple that was supposed to be looking after us, but
after we set sail, they became very busy and we hardly saw them.
There was an army officer there, who became very friendly with us."
She paused here for a moment and then went on, her tone almost
pleading.
"I'd never been on my own, I had no experience with the world really.
I had never really had drunk before. I didn't understand. One night,
Robin went back to the cabin, but he kept pouring me wine. I didn't
know how much I was having Jack, I honestly didn't. I think he made
me drunk, and then he must have led me back to his cabin. I don't
know what happened, but I ended up back in my cabin at five in the
morning. I could barely stand up." Jo was in tears now,
"What had happened was that I became pregnant. I had to tell Dick and
Molly, of course, and they sent me to a nursing home for girls like
me. I gave birth to quads, and they were taken from me, and put up
for adoption. I never got to see them."
There was silence for a moment and Jo began to calm. She looked at
her hands and said,
"I'm a fallen woman Jack, and if you don't want me, I understand"

Jack gathered Joey in his arms, holding her tight.
"Not want you Jo? How could I not? You were young, and he took
advantage of you. You didn't do anything wrong. "
Jo looked up at him
"Do you really believe that?"
"I do Joey, and I truly do want to marry you."

Oh yes, Jack meeting the quad's father would be interesting. Mind you, I'm sure Joey could give as good as she got too!
