Con moved stealthily through the darkened house, cautious as a cat, eyes gleaming with intent. She paused, putting her head on one side to listen better, then nodded, satisfied that she hadn’t disturbed any of the sleeping people in the upper floors of the house.

The hutch was located just outside the kitchen door. Con opened the door softly, glad that she had thought to oil the hinges earlier in the day. The door swung freely without even the hint of a squeak, and Con’s teeth flashed in the moonlight as she broke out into a broad grin.

The little bunny looked up at Con with big trusting eyes. He knew Con of old, and his little bunny heart loved the girl more dearly than lettuce. He didn’t make a sound as she lifted him from the hutch, holding him close against her chest to make sure she didn’t drop him.

Con walked slowly through the garden, making her way to where the fence guarded against people accidentally falling off the mountainside. With a sound that could almost be described as a cackle, she flung the bunny out far from her, and listened for the squelch noise. She heard it.

Con crept back indoors and up the stairs, making her way to her own special place. It was nice and warm still, the heat from the previous day still being retained. Con snuggled down and went to sleep, content that she had succeeded once again.

The next morning, a wailing sound could be heard in the garden. Shortly afterwards, the sound of feet stomping their way to where Con was still snuggled could be heard.

Rachel switched on the computer and opened the “Change for Con” word doc. Since the latest FCS small sparkling purple leaf had also magically disappeared, she supposed she would just have to get on with writing Con’s story.

Hurrah, another RTW drabble... is there to be more posts in this or is it a one-off to tell us that another edit of Change for Con has begun?

*Laughs quietly so as not to waken sleeping housemates*

Rachel your mind goes to the places mine won't let me go cos its too busy bei0ng a grown up. Well at least part of me has to be.

*Thinks* If housemates are asleep, shouldn't she be? Neither of them have to catch a coach at 6.30 tomorrow morning. But then neither of them have a drabble to write and plot bunnies that just won't go to sleep!
