Those of you that have read the drabble the revenge of the headmistresses will have seen that the first interview has KB ordering that I start to write stories depicting Hilda Annersley and Nell Wilson with the protocol and etiquette embued in them by the original author. This is my response.

It was almost the end of term; Hilda Annersley and Nell Wilson sat in their lounge watching, but not comprehending, some Japanese game show in which the object appeared to be to cause all the contestants to vomit! Nell switched the TV off,

“I really do wonder why they invented the TV in the first place,” she said, shaking her head, she glanced over at her friend, “Are you OK Hilda, you seem a bit ‘out of sorts’ at the mo!”

Miss Annersley roused herself with difficulty, “Slang, Nell? Not a good examp… oh bugger it!”

Miss Wilson choked, not sure whether she was more shocked at Hilda reverting to original chalet school dialogue, or to her entering the 21st century with a flourish.

Hilda flushed, “Sorry Nell, not sure what came over me, for a moment there I was back in the fictional world and Elinor’s restrictions seemed to take a hold!”

Nell nodded, “I know what it is!” she said confidently, “It’s because you’re bored.”

“Bored?”

“Yes!” the Deputy Head was adamant, “Look at this last term, at what happened during the term,”

The Head thought for a while, then, “But nothing happened during this term, Nell,” she said softly, “Everything went as clockwork, we had no surprises, no concerns, no kidnappings, no fire, no false accusations nothing!”

“Exactly! So did you enjoy it?”

Miss Annersley considered, “You’re right Nell, it was boring. Is that what our life at the Real Chalet School is going to consist of then, from now on?”

“Apparently so,” her partner’s voice was just as despondent, “It seems that having exciting things happen to us all the time is unrealistic, not true-to-life. Some readers feel we should be happy to settle down to an ordinary, boring existence.”

“A quiet life?” The Head’s voice was faintly questioning, her partner nodded, “Well b*llocks to that, Nell! If these readers don’t like us having adventures they’ll just have to change to reading Mills and Boon – at least there it’s the same story!”

ROFL ROFL ROFL

Good going Lesley? Is everyone who gets called upon going to reply, or better yet are you going to write everyone's replies for them?
