A Drop?
The CBB -> Cookies & Drabbles

#1: A Drop? Author: KatLocation: Swansea PostPosted: Wed Sep 01, 2004 12:45 pm

I'd like to say that this is all Catherine's fault and I've only done it because she couldn't and it was too good an idea to pass on!

*************************************************

“Lisa! Lisa! Lisa! Lisa!” The chanting was getting louder and louder, the voices stronger and more energy fuelled – these CBBers wanted drabble and they wanted it now!
Lisa quibbled. Then wibbled. Then yibbled – anything to stop that chanting! With a shock she realised that she was somehow being pushed towards a steep drop, (in fact it was a cliff, but Lisa hadn’t realised this yet).
“But waaaait! I can’t write more – Catherine will tell you! I’m STUCK!”
“HA! You’re not stuck – you know what’s happening! You’re just being evil to us!”
A quiet voice struck in “Lisa, listen to me – you heard what I said in the last lecture didn’t you? That you should never give in where a cliff is concerned, no matter how hard you are nagged?”
“Yes Lesley, I remember, but oh, it’s so hard!” Lisa broke down into what would have been pitiful sobs had the crowd been interested.
“LISA! Stop that snivelling this instant! You are playing into their hands, showing weakness – they will feed from this! Be strong! Remember, a cliff is only as good as its writer – you must stand firm!”
“Yes, Lesley.” The voice was subdued, yet had a hint of sorrow in it.
“Lisa! Lisa! Lisa! Lisa!” That damn chanting… “SHUT UP!!!!!” Lisa screamed the words out, instantly regretting it as she noticed the satisfied grins upon her fellow CBBers faces.
She felt herself being nudged towards the edge of the drop. Drop? “Noooooooo!” Flicking a quick glance of glee towards each other, Nell and Catherine realised that Lisa had just noticed the cliff coming ever closer towards her.
“You wouldn’t! You couldn’t!”
“Oh couldn’t we?” The voice was low and dangerous – it was Vikki’s.

“What do we want?”
“MORE DRABBLE!”
“When do we want it?”
“NOW!”
“What do we want?”
“MORE DRABBLE!”
“When do we want it?”
“NOW!”
“What do we want?”
“MORE DRABBLE!”
“When do we want it?”
“NOW!”

Lisa’s head was pounding with the intensity of the screaming, reaching every nook and cranny of her brain, overwhelming all other thoughts and feelings. The cliff was getting closer and closer…
Somewhere behind her she was vaguely aware of a disturbance. But the screaming got in the way of her making any sense of it.
Meanwhile Lesley was being gagged by a happy crew of CBBers intent on shutting her up and stopping her from giving hope to Lisa.

“This is your last chance Lisa, either you write more drabble or else…” The voice trailed off threateningly but a nod of the head towards the cliff edge needed no explanation as to what the ‘or else’ would be.
“I WONT DO IT! I WONT BE PRESSURISED BY YOU RATBAGS!” There was a shocked gasp from the onlookers. This meant war…
“You won’t write more drabble?” The voice, faintly familiar, and politely interrogating, stung Lisa to the quick.
“Miss Annersley?”
“That’s right Lisa. You’re insubordination is despicable from any Chalet School girl. I am appalled by your lack of co-operation. You have been asked time and again to write more drabble, and until now I have had only praise for your efforts. This however, is disgraceful.” The voice ended severely.
Miss Annersley turned and nodded to four people - Carolyn, Kathye, RTW and Chelsea, who promptly turned on Lisa and nudged her to the edge of the cliff.

Silence fell.

Waiting….

Waiting….

Waiting….

“RATBAG!!!!!” The scream erupted all round her, making Lisa jump and stagger to the very very edge of the cliff. Miss Annersley sneezed, causing Lisa to slip over the edge and tumble all the way to the bottom, where alas, there was no trampoline to save her…

Shortly afterwards, a scream made Lisa look up. She saw a figure hurtling towards her down the cliff face.
With a bump and loud “Ouch!” Lesley arrived by her side. With a rueful smile on her face she said “I don’t think they appreciated my ‘L. Green School of Cliffs’ being opened....

Thanks Kat that was hilarious. Not sure what Lisa and Lesley are going to say though. You're certainly doing you're best to feature in RCS5 aren't you Rolling Eyes

I have alerted Lesley to the fact that there's a funny drabble on the board she may like to see ... but have left her on her very own personal cliff as to what it's about!!

I like the idea of people leaving mini-cliffs around just for Lesley!

#14:  Author: Rachael PostPosted: Wed Sep 01, 2004 4:11 pm

Well, it was difficult - but after much psychological torture (boy, is she good Shocked ?!!) I can now safely say that Lesley is still on that cliff and has closed down her work computer so I should get some respite and she should get to this drabble later tonight!!

Well done Lisa - after a while you get used to falling off of these cliffs, they don't hurt.

*Rachael told me that I was past being nasty by Olympic proportions because of what I wrote in response to her gloating!*

I have a feeling she may make good on her threat to have the HR Manager attempt to murder Bill in the next RCS...

#23:  Author: catherineLocation: York PostPosted: Wed Sep 01, 2004 6:25 pm

Um, Embarassed

I feel I should point out that it was NOT my idea!! Real Niece came up in our convo and we were bewailing the lack of posts. Kat suggested that Lisa be dropped off a cliff and I merely encouraged her to write it and then post it! She wrote it all with no help from me! I just read it!!

#24:  Author: KatLocation: Swansea PostPosted: Wed Sep 01, 2004 6:41 pm

You lying little toe-rag! It was your idea! But you were bewailing the fact you had too many stories to be thinking about so I said I'd write it Razz Razz Razz

Oh I don't mind so much if Bill goes Gem! But I wont say my favourite character because I know Lesley would then find a way of conveniently getting rid of him/her/it!
