One sentence at a time please, ladies!

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to describe a most traumatic experience recently inflicted upon me by one of your inconsiderate coach-drivers...

on the morning of Saturday 6th March this year, I was travelling from Canbridge to Northampton to attend a reunion, I had already contacted your company and been informed that I could purchase a ticket for the journey from the driver.

However, on arriving at the depature point, the *$£%&(( *%$£"$%%^& jobsworth of a driver refused to sell me a ticket, saying that it was too close to the time of departure.

(OK, this was stolen from a complaint letter that crossed my desk yesterday, but I quite liked this bit)

This has led me to the conclusion that your driver is:
1) Incompetent;
2) A Liar;
3) Incapable of accepting the reality of the modern world

or a combination of all three.

As a result of this misinformation, I was delayed over 2 hours from reaching my destination. Furthermore, when I boarded the next bus ten minutes before departure, I witnessed the bus driver selling a customer a ticket. I had originally attempted to purchase my ticket more than twenty minutes before departure.....

(sorry carried away a bit. KB brought me up to speed on what happened in case you think I'm telepathic!!)

When we complained to National Express, we got £5 vouchers, so it's certainly worth trying!

I am writing to ask how you intend to recompense me for the distress and inconvenience caused by your driver's refusal to sell me a coach ticket.

#12:  Author: Catherine_BLocation: Oxford, UK PostPosted: Tue Mar 23, 2004 7:22 pm

Given that the two hours lost from my schedule caused distress not only to myself, but also to friends and family with whom I had long planned a reunion, I believe that compensation is owing to at least thirty six parties.

( Twisted Evil )

ROFL

Thirty six parties?!! I'd love to see their faces!

#14:  Author: PatLocation: Doncaster PostPosted: Tue Mar 23, 2004 7:54 pm

Look in the mirror Catherine - you're one of them!! All of us at TG were put out when Xan was so late, weren't we?

#15:  Author: ChloëLocation: London: when away from home planet! PostPosted: Tue Mar 23, 2004 8:41 pm

Yup uh most definatly Pat!

#16:  Author: Lisa_TLocation: Belfast PostPosted: Tue Mar 23, 2004 10:46 pm

That being the case, the only adequate recompense I can suggest is that National Express take complete responsibility for the next reunion. To clarify, that means..

#28:  Author: Catherine_BLocation: Oxford, UK PostPosted: Wed Mar 24, 2004 3:01 pm

Well, I believe there is a society at Newnham which has a streaking-through-the-corridor initiation ceremony - called "The Nuns" (idiots!!) Rolling Eyes

#29:  Author: XantheLocation: London/Cambridge PostPosted: Wed Mar 24, 2004 3:12 pm

They didn't streak this year... they had to drink shots at every door on THE corridor...

#30:  Author: Lisa_TLocation: Belfast PostPosted: Wed Mar 24, 2004 11:42 pm

KB has a clone, KB_2, for when "KB" has posted to her quota.

*Adds to the letter*

Quote:
to clarify, that means...
