Claire stood patiently, awaiting her signal. Well, maybe patiently was a bit of a stretch, but it was cold…and windy…and rainy…and, well you get the idea!
As I was saying, Claire stood waiting for the signal. She knew that the goods had left the mother house, having received a coded message (the lemmings have jumped the cliff – these messages never do make any sense) about 45 minutes previously. After half a dozen or so years, this mission had become fairly routine, but still. She once again ensured that her camouflage was on properly. Though, given that her idea of camouflage was an "Annie" wig, MC Hammeresque parachute pants, and a bumble-bee striped shirt, it would have, perhaps, been better if she had forgotten it.
Suddenly, her sharp ears heard the sound of a hyena's laugh. This was undoubtedly the signal – hyenas being few and far between in this neck of the woods (if by few and far between one means non-existent!). Peering through the rain, Claire spotted the transport she was to intercept. As it slowed momentarily, Claire deftly traded one of the bags on board for one that she was carrying.
As the transport continued on its way, Claire breathed a sigh of relief…another successful mission.

No one ever realised that the reason new girls seemed to have no idea about the language rule was because Claire was exchanging the real prospectuses with ones stating that all classes were taught in Pig Latin.

Just another successful mission for the International EBDism Creation Society (IECS for short).

Was the drabble so bad that only Carolyn and Lesley want to comment on it? Crying or Very sad

Points out that I am keeping a 'naughty and nice' list Very Happy

Santa is now going to the garden to eat worms - you can explain why the children of the world are not getting presents on Christmas Sad

But, but, Santa -- probably most of them are being good little girls, tucked into their beds nice and early, hoping to show you how well behaved they are -- instead of reading the CBB half the night.

*wonders how the IECS managed some of those other EBDisms*

(I might even be able to handle pig-Latin day. Very Happy -- more than can be said for German or -- horrors! -- French day.)

LOL Secret Santa!!

I love the idea of an IECS ... and the pig Latin!!!

As Kathy says ... I was at home last night so not able to access the board ... not sure about the good girl bit though, now I'm reading it from work! Wink

This could explain a lot!

Sorry Santa was rather busy yesterday so didn't get very far into the C&D section.

Love it! Was this also the society that made sure prospectusi were only sent to families with potential problem new girls (who would naturally only recieve it in time for the summer term)?

Not sure, but I wonder if the society provided younger/older look-alikes to allow people to age too fast and/or too slow.

Have only just read this, but would like to reassure you that I found it highly amusing (and I'm not just saying that because it's only 10 days to Christmas!) Laughing
