I had about an hour free in school today so got this doen:

Francesca rolled her eyes and left her friends with some reluctance but she knew better than to question a prefect with e request form a mistress,
“Why didn’t you do it earlier Helen, it could have saved us both the bother and I didn’t think your desk had been damaged!”
“Well I was caught by Willy and sent on an errand and I could hardly say sorry but I have to go and sort out my desk could I!” Helen had planned how this would all work and she knew that if she wasn’t careful it would all fall apart, “It isn’t my idea of fun and it wasn’t like I choose who I had to help me. Once we finish we have to go along and report to Deny in the office and get someone who’s free to take us for a brisk walk and personally I’d rather get a long ramble with the pothers any day as who ever it is wont love us for it”
As they walked back to their form room Frankie noted the change in Helen from the girl she had known, true in many ways she was the same but being away from her mother and her petting she thought that the girl had grown and not had so many expectations put on her,

#5:  Author: ChloëLocation: London: when away from home planet! PostPosted: Wed Jan 21, 2004 6:50 pm

“Maybe it was her mother, though she seemed just keen to please her daughter when ever I saw her! Bett did tell me how the boys were all high achievers and that Helen was the youngest and only girl, and that her mother had wanted a daughter to parade around” but although Frankie posses more insight into her peers and other people than many girls her age she had not the insight girls such as Len Maynard or Mary-Lou had been famed for in their own schooldays, “Dankeschon Gaudenz” Francesca smiled as he brought in the new desk for Helen, and cast a glance at Helen who merely sat swinging her leg perched on another desk,
“Bitte Fraulein, es ist keine Problem zu die Madchen hiflen” he was an old hand and knew the working of the chalet school for having been with them for many years and took special interest with Francesca have been told her story, and felt that despite everything she was such a kind good natured girl not to have let it all effet her.
“Oh yeah, Danke” Helen had momentarily forgotten the importance her own behaviour would need to play in order for her plan to work, “We’ll leave the old desk at the back when we’ve finished” with which Gaudenz nodded and left the girl to it.
“Have you heard anything for any of the old girls at St. Wini’s?” Frankie could think of nothing else to say and although working in silence would have made it take less time she would feel awkward doing so,
“Had a few letter every other week, Beth often still writes the latest goings on” Helen sounded less than enthusiastic at this,

#6:  Author: ChloëLocation: London: when away from home planet! PostPosted: Wed Jan 21, 2004 6:53 pm

“That’s nice of her, I bet she’s jealous at all we’ve got to do here she would love all the sport” Beth Castle had been one of the most sporty people in the school before Helen had come and was indeed a very promising young athlete, but had tended to work less hard at it after Helen had arrived on the scene as she was apt to be lazy in all her lessons and this was same as Beth except where sport was concerned,
“Maybe I can’t remember what I wrote back only a card or two”
“What you haven’t written back to her?” Francesca stared in disbelief despite her friendship with Cecil and all the others she wrote faithfully to her old friends,
“I’ve never been big on correspondence, I can never think of anything to write to them” Helen seemed genuine enough though this had lead her just to where she had wanted talking about the old home and old life, “How’s your sister, Mum said Miss Bett had mentioned something about her, but was a bit vague” she looked down again with a smile spread across her face as Francesca began to go red at such a direct question,
“It’s true, she’s been ill recently, but I didn’t think that your mother knew my sister?” Frankie thought it odd for Bett to have mentioned such a thing, but tell a lie she wouldn’t do, as it happened so far no one had been that interested in her family and she didn’t bother to mention them yet,
“It must be hard with you all the way of here and she’s back in England. Not to be able to go to her, you were very close from what I remember”

#7:  Author: ChloëLocation: London: when away from home planet! PostPosted: Wed Jan 21, 2004 6:54 pm

“Oh yes we are its nice, but sometimes she’s worse than a parent” Frankie’s eyes softened as she spoke reminding herself that she was orphaned, “but as a sister I couldn’t ask for anyone better”
“That’s good I always wanted a sister but instead I got Rick and James, though they do tend to spoil me on occasion. Where’s she working now, your sister I mean, as mother mentioned she’d meet your brother and he was living alone at your old home, mentioned something about a new job that took her away from home” she could have scripted it better she was going to find out something that could give her the sway she had always wanted over Francesca as she knew what her family would be her way in as it was the only thing she had never mentioned and it was thanks to over hearing Zizi and Blossom in their form that she had discovered this fact.
“Well…” Francesca knew she was cornered and that Helen wont let the matter drop so she decided to do what she could, tell the truth, “If you have to say you wont ell any of the others till I say!” Helen mumbled something that she took to mean yes, “Clare’s here, in Switzerland I mean” Helen’s mouth dropped open she had thought over what the revelation could be but nothing like this had come to her,
“For goodness sake Helen close your mouth, for one thing it’s rude and for another you look like a goldfish” Frankie spoke with a slight laugh in her voice,
“But, where… why?” these were the questions she had hoped wouldn’t come,
“In the San at the moment recovering from and op.”

“Have we… have I seen her? We’d often see patients when we went for walks at the start of term” Helen wasn’t thinking about her plan anymore this was far more interesting than she would have thought possible, this girl never having had an interest in someone else’s story before
“Yes, everyone has…” as she spoke Frankie took a breath they were all fine with the fact Len taught Cecil and the other Maynard girls so why should it make a difference with them, “you know Clare, though as Miss Buckley” having said it to someone else felt good, it felt liberating and so the questions poured forth as they worked and it wasn’t until Miss Dene checking her watched wondered what had happened to the girls wandered off to Upper IV’s form room and found them both sitting there talking.

Well i wasn't and i didn't even feel close to it! Razz

Here's a bit more...

“Girls you were supposed to come and find me the moment you had finished” Rosalie had started the morning with a slight headache, but had said nothing and done her best to avoid Matey as she had a mountain of paperwork to do and this was an unnecessary journey,
“I’m sorry Miss Dene we had just finished, but we were talking and…”
“And sat down to chat, well come along I haven’t time to waste running around after any girls for any reason” Frankie and Helen looked at each other but knew better than to say anything so followed her silently out of the room,
“Ahh Rosalie, I was just coming to find you…” Nancy stopped it was obvious to even her untrained eyes that her friend was suffering, “But that can wait until later, girls I’ll take you for a quick walk I have something to get from Mrs Graves and you can accompany me as I’m sure Miss Dene has better thing to do with her time” the girls just stood looking at each other, “Well off you go and get into your outdoor things, I’ll meet you outside in three minutes” with which the girls fled, “and either you take yourself to Matey or I will!”

The walk passed uneventfully though they heard the yells of a group as they walked back towards to school again, Nancy was keen to hear the latest of Clare but knew better than to speak of it before Helen, had she known she would have been able to prevent what was to come as she pointed out afterwards, it was not the first nor likely to be the last time a mistress in the chalet school felt this way.
“The rest will be back shortly, I suggest you go and freshen up and then go and sit quietly in your common room”
“Couldn’t we do anything to help” as Francesca spoke she had a glint in her eye which made Nancy clear as to what she was getting at,
“No thank you Francesca we’ll have the gong for Mittagessen going the minute the others get back from their ramble and then the rest will be arriving so you may be needed to do things then” the girls turned to walk back to the common room,
“I’m glad they don’t want our help, I’m feed up of having to consider other people all the time, just because your sister…”
“Clare’s got nothing to do with it; I’ve got nothing better to do with my time”
“Is that how you feel Francesca Myers I won’t let it bother me and I think you should remember to be a bit nicer to me and less chummy with Cecil unless you want all the others to know” a grin spread across her face as she spoke,
“But you promised, not….” Francesca was cut short as the door burst open and the rest of the form raced in,
“I didn’t promise a thing” Helen whispered before walking off to join her own special friends
“What was all that about” Cecil spoke quietly as she came up to join Frankie,
“Nothing” she replied in the same low tone as it seemed no one else had noticed the way in which the girls had been staring at each other.

I did wrap you warm and had fun and gave my brain time to think and Anya enjoyed her little run around too so we cam up with this...

The next few days passed silently enough all most too quietly if the prefects were to be heard they were sure something was about to happen so any middle or junior came in for a heavy punishment for the smallest crime.
“You’d think we’ve come back to a different school what on earth has gone on its so, good”
“Why on earth are you complaining it means we don’t have to pounce on the middles for mischief or the juniors for silliness” Meta Gordon yawned as she spoke “Do sit down you’ll wear a hole in the rug” Bianca slumped into the chair closest to the stove,
“I know I just don’t want to relax as the moment you do you never know what the young monkeys will do”
“Well from what I’ve heard you’re not giving them the chance” a fresh voice from the door made the pair jump, “You should have heard Sinead O’Conner on how you toppled on them like a house of bricks for the smallest of things” Marjorie Graves stood laughing,
“Oh don’t look like that, I couldn’t say anything as I overheard them changing after I’d taken them for Games, but I have to say it did sound like you were a bit harsh”
“I know but I was speaking to Bel and even she’s concerned about that crowd especially as that new girls Francesca something or other has joined them and from al, I can gather she’s a very imaginative person which is just what that group could do without, they were lively enough before Helen Williams came”
“Frankie Myers she’s a nice kid, good at art and knows her books from what Ilonka says always in the library I can’t see her with that lot she seems to have her head screwed on pretty tight”
“I know but you know what Bel is she only behaves in term as she knows I’ll come down harder on her for anything as she’s family, and the stories that Francesca has told, well I was enthralled at Bel’s retelling” Bianca sat still for a moment looking at the stove, “I guess you are right I shall relax but the moment it all goes wrong let it be on your heads” with which she sat back and retold the tale her younger sister had shared with her a few days before, and the old Head Girl returned.

Well i did this little bit just now...

“Please Miss Ferrars; Miss Annersley would like to see Francesca Myers now please” looking up from her desk Kathie Ferrars smiled she knew exactly why Francesca was wanted but couldn’t help notice the look of guilt on the young lady in questions face,
“Off you go Francesca, clear your desk as you don’t know how long you will be”
“Surely you’re not in trouble, but you sure look like you’ve done something with a face like that” Jean Morrison spoke with a smile she had seen a change in the girl since half term, but Felicity had warned them that it was a bit of a family bother and not to say anything as she was sure she’d be back to herself before long, “If the Abbess is done with you and there’s not long left before the end of prep you can come to the library I’ll be there sorting through some new books we ordered” with which she turned round and headed towards the library
Knocking on the door Francesca didn’t hear the call from inside telling her to enter and stood there,
“Francesca did you not hear me I called you twice” Hilda Annersley stood in the doorway starring at the young girl,
“I’m sorry I was…. errmm thinking, well more dreaming” honestly compelled her to add walking into the room she was greeted by two small girls running up to her shouting,
“Auntie Ca, we not seen you for a long time, why you go leave us” both girls cried at once,
“Hush the pair of you I’ll take you back home at once and come back to see Francesca alone if you cannot behave like well mannered little girls” Con rose form her seat and walked towards Frankie, “I don’t think I was even that bad as to not hear you speak to me, even when I was younger” she said chuckling,
“No you just gave a vague answer to the questions, something about biting the lion if memory servers me correctly” blushing to the tips of her ears Con was silenced,
“It’s lovely to see you, but why do you want me and not Cecil” taking a hand of each twin Frankie walked and sat with them on the floor by the fire,
“Well I went to see Len this afternoon as she was free and she had the latest news of Clare and I though you’d like to know straight away, so I thought Auntie Hilda could cope with the twins whilst we have a quick chat, and I mean quick as these two must be in bed on time as they have had a long day and I must get back to William”

Sorry everytime i've got to sit down at the computer for the past few days i've been called away straight away but here's a bit more for now...

A wide beam spread across Francesca’s face at this,
“Really I thought it would be too early to have any change” she then thought about the serious talk she had had with Jack Maynard and her face became more serious
“Off you go pets be good for Auntie Hilda and you’ll have a new story at bedtime” with which she kissed her daughters on the head before giving them a gentle push towards her as even now and then going with ‘Auntie Hilda’ was considered slightly daunting by the pair, a fact which had been chuckled over by the adults in private.
“Please Con how is Len, I saw her yesterday and she looked well, not like herself. Cecil saw it to though it was during lessons so we could hardly say anything” Con noted how much Frankie and Cecil confided in one another and was glad it had always been harder for Cecil the fifth daughter and born with twins either side,
“She’s was very happy when I saw her, but I’ve not got time to discuss Len with you now, unless you’d rather not hear about Clare that is…” Con was quick to hush Francesca as she began to exclaim, “If you do that I’ll have to go and you can go back to prep!”
“Well you can’t say something like that without some remark in return” Frankie grinned back but settled down on the chair next to Con and was quiet.
“Well I know they said it will be a long process and it will be. Clare still sleeps for much of the day, which is the best thing possible for her” Coin saw the concern spread across the younger girls face, “But she did ask how much trouble you were causing and how much of a mess you got into without her to run around after you!” Con saw no trace of a smile and wonder but knew better to press for the reason, it deed she had not been as good as she could have been and it had never dawned on Francesca that any mischief could effect Clare,
“Well I doubt anything will be said, but I must just go ad speak to Yollie tomorrow and not let it get back to Clare” Francesca shook her head to turn her attention to what Con was saying.

You're getting some more now Lesley sorry tis been so long folks i've not been on the board really but i wrote this yesterday and typed it up just now....

“But isn’t that good news then, you could look a littl happier at having Clare with you from Christmas”
“I won’t though will I! Now she’s on the up, so to speak even if it does last as we all hope I’ll still have to go back to England with Alex and Clare will be alone” Francesca’s face clouded once more, “Don’t you see she’s strong enough to say what she wants but still too ill for me to argue with so I’ll have to be all meek and mild over her decision” Con suppressed a laugh at this she had seen Francesca meek and mild but never together and the mood never lasted long.
“Well have you thought where you could go the hotel has few rooms left and the San is no place for a little girl and there is no guarantee that she’ll be allowed out for longer than a day or two leaving to one to look after you” Con was sure she knew the next response that Frankie would argue with,
“We could go to our chalet I can keep house for a few days!” whatever Con had expected it was not this and looked startled how did Francesca know about the chalet, and she found herself listening to the explanation, “I over heard Clare and Len talking I didn’t mean to eavesdrop but I had been sent to get our books from the staff room and the door was open” Frankie explained as she knew the school’s view on such things, “I’d just thought that Len was re-decorating and asking Clare’s opinion, but then a few days later I went into Clare’s room” Francesca’s voice grew smaller as she knew she had deliberately broken strict school rules by doing so, “I wanted to leave her the letter I’d written but on the desk there were lots of drawing, like room place and fabric and paint samples. I began to put two and two together and you just made it four for me!” she raised her head at this as she remember a tale of Con and the woes her math’s had caused math’s mistresses at the chalet school

I've left sisters alone for a bit posting wise sa i wrote more but forgot to post so here's the next bit sorry it's so late!

The next few days Francesca forgot about her conversation with Con she was thrown into various school activities, most notably the Christmas play. Once again written by Con Richardson it told a variety of short Christmas stories for each of the countries represented within the school. Ending with a special composition of a song with words written by Con and set to music by old girl and mistress of the school Grizel Shepherd, in which each verse was dedicated to each country mentioned in the production. This had been the hardest part of the play that had caused Con many a restless night and had made Con’s husband Roger close to stopping her from continuing as he was concerned for her health and that of their child she had been carrying. But he knew that when Con got a certain look that she would be of no use to anyone til it was out of her. However this had been a most adventurous idea to write a verse in each of the different countries traditional language, which had meant calling on help from various old girls and her sister Len.
“Gosh I’ll never do it in time, remembering dance moves lines and… and….”
“Come they would not have given you such a part if they did not think you capable” Ada spoke with admiration, “You and Cecil just glide along and you look so right together no one else in the school could do it so well the part could have been written for the pair of you” with which she walked over to where her bosom buddies Amy and Zizi we busy hoping around trying to see who could stand on one leg for the longest without falling over,
“Do you know what time it is? The rest of the school is ready to sit down to Mittagessen!” Marjorie Graves looked round the room as the middles as they hurried into a lone to lead off,
“Please Marjorie I didn’t hear the bell!” as form prefect Belen spoke to the prefect blaming herself,
“You wouldn’t have as they seem to have stopped working in two or three of the rooms. But however you do have a clock in here and I trust that you are not they only member of the form to know how to tell the time” at which Helen and her group of friend had a tint of pink rise in their cheeks having noticed five minutes ago that it was indeed lunchtime however they knew that Belen would feel bad as she tried hard to do her best as form prefect and that it was also partly done so meticulously as her sister was Head Girl, but had got a sharp rebuke from Belen for messing around and causing general mischief at break.

#85:  Author: ChloëLocation: London: when away from home planet! PostPosted: Sat Mar 13, 2004 1:09 pm

“Girls letters will be delivered to your form rooms at the end of lunch, I think that is all!” with which Miss Annersley turned and left the girls to finish clearing away.
“Belen, Adsila three for you so hold on a sec, Helen, Amy, Sinead and two for you Francesca” Meta Gordon placed the letters in front of Frankie as she had not got up to collect them having expected none, with which the prefect turned with a grin and left the room,
“Mind if I join you Frankie or do you want to be alone to read the letters” Cecil perched on the table next to Frankie,
“Stay if you want not much that I’m not likely to tell you after all!” with which the girls moved over to a window seat.
The first letter brought much joy for Francesca. Clare had got one of the nurse’s to write as she dictated the letter as she still couldn’t sit up comfortably for more than five minutes still, whilst she opened the second she gave it to Cecil to read through but and exclamation from the girl caused many in the room to jump as she tore out of the room.

“What on earth caused that little idiot to go dashing about like that, she’ll have a mistress or pree down on us if she carries on like that!” Helen spoke with a disgruntled tone; many thought it was due to having had a sharp rebuke or two that day form various prefects, but certain people had noticed Helen’s attitude towards Frankie having changed as she didn’t seem to be able to drag Frankie away from Cecil,
“As she was reading a letter I’d guess it was news in that, oui?” Ada spoke without looking up form her own letter,
“Well I just don’t want the silly little ass to bring anyone down on us and say we can’t be trusted to be alone” Helen glared at Ada’s bent head busy scribbling away at her letter,
“Why should we leave that up to you?” as Blossom spoke she smiled knowing that someone would rise to this,
“Tis not her fault t’was Ilonka over reacting” Sioned flared up “Christina Bailey should show her elders some more respect otherwise the argument would never have happened as it is we’re not allowed in the library alone for the next week”
“Or how about the fact that thanks to you and Helen we’re not allowed in the form room alone no one to blame there but yourselves” Blossom did not like the tone in Sioned’s voice so spoke up a little louder than she meant,
“There’s not need to raise your voice at me Adsila, you’re no better than us you got in trouble last week for just the same thing, it’s as much your fault as it is ours” Sioned’s Irish temper was in full swing
“I was standing on the table for good reason not to have some sort of babyish races across the room” standing only feet apart as it happened Len Entwhisle upon hearing raised voices opened the door looking very grim,

“Is this any way to behave? Move apart girls, I want an explanation” the room went silent as Len determined look swept round the room, “Cecil what was going on I want an explanation now!” Len had had to face similar situations as Head Girl and knew that her younger sister wouldn’t dare to refuse such a direct question,
“Um… well Helen said something about the way in which Frankie rushed out and then Ada said something and Sioned replied and then Blos… Adsila said something and that’s sort of where you entered, I think” Cecil could feel herself going red under her sister’s stare,
“Very well if girls of your age are unable to not be as childish as to wind each other up and make unnecessary comments someone in authority will have to remain with you at all times to keep your behavior in check and it will be so if I hear of a similar complaint from anyone” Len emphasis on the last few words made several people wince as they knew her to be a mistress of her word, “Cecil a word with you if I may”
“Oh Len please it wasn’t my fault I couldn’t do anything about it tempers are always on edge between some of that lot, they just rub each other up the wrong way too easily” Cecil was talking at top speed the moment the door had closed,
“I know that, that’s not the reason I wanted to talk to you” she paused and her face relaxed into it’s normally smiley appearance, “Where is Frankie she’s wanted in the office? Oh and Mamma sends her love and expects you, Frankie and a friend each on Sunday”
“Haven’t the foggiest where she’s gone one minute she was reading a letter the next she was tearing out of the room like a lit rocket! Did you know Clare had coaxed Matron to write a letter she dictated for Frankie it made her day, well it had til she disappeared it’s brilliantly funny you know!”
“Who gave you permission to use her Christian name like that you young monkey and remember not everyone knows and that’s the way it’s got to stay until you are told otherwise” with which she turned towards the staff room.

just alittle bit sorry its been so long but the computers been off line and i'm too lazy to type up what i've done....

Time was drawing closers and many of the girls were found in fits of giggles and excitement. They had finished there last dress run through for the Christmas play and it couldn’t have gone much worse. Jean Morrison had been close to tears with all the mistakes the orchestra had been making over the simplest pieces of music, Felicity and Lucy were bust re-casting certain dancers in the ballet scene after young Julie Morgan had gone head first down the main stairs that morning and given her ankle a nasty wrench so that they had to teach other people her parts of the dance. The final straw had been Meta Gordon finding the scenery she had dedicated all of her free time to finishing had been knocked over during the rehearsal from where they had been put to dry.
“Biddy Courvoisier you don’t have any lessons to teach today what are you doing here, Eugen will be complaining that he never sees you and has become a chalet school widow” Biddy sat up sharply as Nell Wilson better known as Bill amongst the girls of the Chalet school spoke so suddenly
“Tis a shock you gave me, as for what I be doing is resting. Eugen got called out again last night and he’s fast asleep so I thought I come hunt someone out but there’s no one about”
“That my dear is because they are all busy helping get things ready for the play tomorrow” looking round the room she picked up a box and exited.

Aren't you all lucky then that i have indeed written more....

“Well how you two feeling?”
“Con I thought you’d be at home with Will” Cecil ran and hugged her sister,
“I have never yet missed a play I have written for the school and don’t propose to start now where ever I maybe living” Con stroked her little sisters head, “Why so keen to see him and not the girls?”
“Oh I saw them they were with Rog and he looked to have his hands full so I thought you were at Freudesheim”
“Are you implying I can’t look after my own children young lady?” as he spoke for himself,
“Well some have a knack and others don’t” she grinned back at her brother in law,
“Come along Con it’s nearly time and we have to get these two settled” turning to walk out of the door Con whispered in Cecil’s ears before departing after her sister.
“I do wish Julie had more sense I’m sure I’ll never remember all the new steps”
“Cecil you’ve been dancing since you were tiny and look the part, you’ll be fine I was surprised you weren’t picked straight off for the part” Frankie linked arms with Cecil as they moved into the dressing room,
“Fliss knows better than that, I hate main parts I get too nervous. I could shake Ju for doing this to me, but I couldn’t say no. Did you see Ferry’s face when she heard and I guess I’m the next best person” with which the girls parted company as they were to enter the stage from opposite sides.

You are indeed as thansk to Carolyn proof reading this next bit is being posted!

The lights wetn down in the hall as the curtains parted. Behind them stood a row of little girls all dressed alike positioned to leap into the dance on cue, as the music struck up it was a carol all there knew and was a favourite with many.
From stage left entered Ilonka von Werthein wearing a deep blue flowing gown, her hair flowing lose down her back with a wreath placed on top of her head singing the first verse of “Stille Nacht! Heil'ge Nacht!“
“Stille Nacht! Heil'ge Nacht!
Alles schläft; einsam wacht
Nur das traute heilige Paar.
Holder Knab' im lockigten Haar,
Schlafe in himmlischer Ruh!
Schlafe in himmlischer Ruh! ”
From stage right Darice Simmons entered as the first verse finished singing the seconded verse in English,
“Silent night! Holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight;
glories stream from Heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ, the Saviour, is born!
Christ, the Saviour, is born!”
Her gown was of deep hunter green the pair standing opposite each other looked very fine, both girls complimented each other Ilonka so fair and Darice so dark. The last verse they sang together each in their own native tongue, this had taken much practice as both girls at times had slipped into the other girls language when singing but their voices melted together the words as one for their visitors. During this the girls in white tutus had moved gracefully round the stage flowing with the golden notes which filled the hall. The lights dimmed so there was only a small spot light on the last ballet dancer left on the stage, gliding round swift and elegant in her movements.
“Why day left her, poor Cec” it was left to one of the twins to speak clear enough for Cecil to hear and start to turn bright red,
“Oh why couldn’t Con gag the little pests they’ll put her off if they do that again” Felicity spoke with a groan at the side of the stage where she had moved to watch her sister in her first solo part of the play.
“This is a tale to remind us” a voice spoke through the darkness as the dance ended, Cecil still in the centre of the stage,
“A tale not to be forgotten told form generation to generation” as the lights came back up and Cecil vanished the stage was split by scenery into three,
One was a collection of small German children sitting round the fireplace with their grandmother she was scolding a little boy for having made is little sister cry on Christmas day,
“But its just a day like any other” he stood his hand shoved deep into his pockets, gasps when round the little group quickly hushed by the grandmother played by Braith Harrod a member of Inter V, “It is Christmas a time to unit us all over the world, don’t tell me you have forgotten the tales we are all told” peering through the half glasses she was wearing glaring at the small boy caused muffled giggles from various people causing Kathie Ferrars to groan having had this trouble of various cast members falling over with hysterics during rehearsals at this scene.
The next scene was another family this time a typical French family sitting at the end of their meal talking about Christmas and what it meant to all of them and the grandchildren having disapproving glances as they replied
“Presents!” at the top of their voices

The next stood a group of people dressed as English carolers, as one sat down on a log and rubbed their foot they complained,
“Why must we do this every year and my feet just ache at the end of it all?”
“Really Elisabeth, there is no need to behave in such an unladylike manner, stand up” her mother pulled her to her feet as she spoke nearly knocking the people behind her over,
“Ma she ain’t no lady or not like I’ve ever seen!” the boy leaning against the lamp post spoke,
“No scrapping the pair of you or you’ll father will have something to say” as the girl made a dive towards the young boy “we only have one more place to call and that’s old Mrs. Blackwell and you know she’s alone at the holidays and is always so pleased when we sing carols outside her house”
The actors all froze as Darice and Ilonka entered again,
“Here today we are of many nations and as the grandmother said we are united at this time” Ilonka’s voice filled the hall
“Family’s are brought together and celebrate though some people like old Mrs. Blackwell are alone” as Darice spoke the scenery was moved and more girls entered onto the stage, “but what ever may happen they is one thing that we all share as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord’s son into this world so we ask you to join us as we sing O Come All Ye Faithful” with which the first notes began to play.
As the curtains fell for the interval Con was surrounded by people she knew demanding to know what her inspiration had been,
“Well to tell the truth it was these two!” indicating to her two Chloe and Esmeralda daughters clinging to their mothers hands “I was watching them as they were trying to talk and came out with a mix of English and German as they spoke” Con shifted uncomfortably as she had at least prevented the speech at the beginning of the play and knew there would be on time at he end to mention her when they said the reason for the play and always shied away from praise of her writing “As for the different scenes themselves I had Cecil with me during he hol’s and she was trying to learn some more Italian and Spanish as she said that she thought it would be nice on Sunday if she could talk to some of her friends in their native tongue which made me wonder about Christmas in other country and called on Rosalie to tell me all of the different nationalities represented in the school and spent a log time contacting many of the old girls as I could for information of their past Christmas’s”
“You mean to tell me this is all fact and events that have taken place! I wont believe it especially not the Christmas present one, such a thing to do take a present out early however excited”
“It happened alright Joey, a tale from my youth Lady Honoria’s brother I believe it was took his new sledge and used it when the snow came before Christmas day but it got damaged and rather than tell his father what he had done he hide it and replaced his for his sisters and he rest you saw” with which they sat back down ready for the second half.
The rest of the performance pasted with little incident though when the girls became slightly too enthusiastic whilst dancing to “Joy to the World” causing many of the audience to wonder if the stage would hold!
As the final acting scene closed the group of girls who had started the play entered this time Cecil and Francesca stood in front of the others their tutus trimmed with silver as the first chords of “Hark! The herald angels sing!” were played on either side in their starting positions stood Darice and Ilonka their voices swelling out to filling up the hall.
This was one of the tensest parts of the performance for all concerned s thanks to Julie’s injury and Francesca being the next best person for the part had had to get her to stand in and to say she was slightly ticklish would be a great understatement! So when Felicity Maynard and Lucy Peters joined then on stage to do a running lift many people held their breath,
“I didn’t know she could dance like that you never said” Alex whispered to his neighbour,
“Hush or she’ll hear and if she turns now there’ll be an accident as she fidget and I doubt Lucy will be able to cope with that!” Clare spoke in low tones just as she did Lucy seemed to unbalance slightly and Clare grasped the hand next to hers tightly!
Whatever may have been expected the other girls saw and Felicity signalling to them all to carry on as normal lowered Cecil down which Lucy copied which now meant that they must improvise for the end of the carol. The rest of the girls carried on as though nothing had changed and most of the audience was unaware of what had narrowly been avoided,
“Our tales have been told, we come to the end”
“We hope that you have enjoyed and learned from what we have told”
“Across ever nation we are different but join together at this time of year”
“Which we ask of you now as we sing our final carol of the evening One in Royal David’s City”

As the carol ended Jack Maynard stood up on the stage and raise his hands to end the applause that had burst forth,
“Ladies and Gentlemen you are all well aware of why we are all here as you were all told at the beginning of the performance, but however we did not get a chance to give thanks to who we owe this production to!” he pause as a few people shifted uncomfortably in their seats, “Miss Ferrars has for many years now help direct the girls in their performance. Mr Denny is responsible for the music and I wish you to show them your appreciation” at this they all clapped and Miss Ferrars was handed a bunch of flowers by little Elise Barrett. “This year I am once again proud to announce that my daughter Con Richardson or as many of you still refer to her much to her annoyance Con Maynard as writer of this play. But that is not all this year it has been a real family effort as another daughter of mine took on the challenge of chorography for the entire play Felicity Maynard” at which Felicity was pushed through the curtains and Con made to go up onto the stage to be given full recognition of their accomplishment. They were never sure who though Con blamed her youngest sister, but someone started a round of three cheers for the pair.
