‘Tis New Year, New Year. The bells ring out
Greeted by laughter, a song and a shout.
And a new beginning for all.

All over the world the greetings fly
With hugs, handshakes and glasses held high
And a new beginning for all.

We remember our friends far and near
Make wishes that this will be a good year
And a new beginning for all.

Friends who are close and friends we have met
In virtual space on the world wide net.
Wish a new beginning for all.

Friends we have met and friends not yet known.
All one in this world through sorrows and woes
Seek a new beginning for all.

Drabbles and yibbles, smileys and tears
All part of the board throughout this past year
Now a new beginning for all

With laughter and tears, greet this new year,
Supporting each other through joys and fears
With a new beginning for all

But some have sorrow, sadness and fear
Alone, with no friends to wish them good cheer
Not a new beginning for all.

‘No man stands alone.’ The wise man said.
Let us remember as we seek our beds,
Pray a new beginning for all.
