Dedicated to Lesley Ann Green

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinkin’ I could never live a murderer’s life inside
But when the footage got me off and they thought a Rach(a)el was to blame
I was shocked to think a fan could have put me in the frame.

Is EBD back, from outer space?
I just walked in to find her here with that sadistic look upon her face
I should have changed that stupid lock, I should have made her leave her key
If I’d known for just one second she’d be back to bother me

Go on now, go, walk out the door
Your disguises were pathetic and you’re not welcome anymore
Weren’t you the one who tried to hurt me till I’d cry
Did you think I’d crumble, did you think I’d lay down and die

Oh no not I – I will survive
Lesley tried her best but you can see I’m still alive
I was left alone to suffer, was imprisoned but got tougher
And I’ll survive, I will survive, hey hey.

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
But Nell supported me, I love that gal with all my heart
So many nights she stayed up late when I couldn’t get to sleep
But next time she plays a prank on me she’ll be in trouble deep!

And you see me, somebody new
I’m not that chained up little puppet still controlled by you
So Lesley should beware, I ain’t happy with this plot
So make her reveal a Rach(a)el or RCS will go to pot.

Go on now, go, walk out the door
Don’t try to blackmail, its been tried with no effect before
Nell is nasty with her fist although her elbow’s even better
(And I know that she adores me cuz I read it in her dying letter)

Oh and I - I will survive
Lesley you can give up cause I’m gonna stay alive
Its been going on enough but my school is getting tough
And we’ll survive, we will survive HEY HEY.

I'm afraid I've been so busy with my latest book, I didn't have time to think up a different tune to Hilda. This is to all you CBBers...

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
So much had happened to my family we nearly all had died
And I’ve spent so many nights thinkin’ how you did me wrong
My voice grew strong, so listen to my song

And so you’re back from cyber space
I just sat down in Ellie’s drabble there’s little more that I can face
I never should have been so nice, you all like Grizel more than me
If I’d known for just one second just how beastly you could be

Go on now go, walk out the door
I hope you’re happy that Freudeshiem is a happy home no more
Weren’t you the one’s who tried to kill me several times
Did you think I’d wibble, just lay down and die

Oh no not I – I will survive
As long as Robin sings to me I know I’ll stay alive
I’ve got a school-girl life to live, I’ve got English Tea to give
And I’ll survive hey hey

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
When Len had died and Margot left it all just broke my heart
I’ll get you back young Carolyn, I won’t feel sorry for myself
And that’s my wish, I’ll be no spineless jellyfish

And you see me, somebody new
I’m what you created, I am a part of you
So if you feel like droppin’ in and just expect me to be free
I’ll ring for Anna’s lemon biscuits and a pot of English Tea

Then I’ll say no! Walk out the door
You find it funny, but you’re drabble minds aren’t very pure,
My son is straight, my daughter’s safe don’t try to hurt me with your lies
And I’ll have you know my lime green twinset is a favourite with the guys

And you, you might survive
But the offspring are upset and out to wreak revenge upon your lives
I’d control them if I could but I don’t see why I should
You won’t survive, you won’t survive, HEY HEY.

Wow we are really getting into all these drabbles with music aren't we Razz ,

these are both great we'll done however you are

Am getting seriously tempted to start my very first solo drabble "Chalet School, the Musical"

Would people prefer a actual book, a drabble or an entirely new story ?

I knew right from the first I wasn't loved or wanted. Nothing you can do or say to me will change that now.

Keep those I love from me
Children of Joey
Are always alone
But I know I shall find
My own peace of mind
For I have been promised
A life of my own.

#10:  Author: Margot PostPosted: Mon Apr 05, 2004 9:49 pm

Yes, well, this is what happens when you're so upset you can't post properly. Here is the rest for all you who tortured and hated me.

Close Every Door to me
Hide all the world from me
Bar all the windows
And shut out the light
Do what you want with me
Hide me and laugh at me
Darken my daytime
And torture my night
If my life were important I
Would ask will I live or die
But I know the answers
Lie far from this world
Close Every Door to me
Keep those I love from me
Children of Joey
Are always alone
But I know I shall find
My own peace of mind
For I have been promised
A life of my own.

Close Every Door to me
Hide all the world from me
Bar all the windows
And shut out the light

Just call me a triplet
And never my name
Forget all about me
And let me decay
I do not matter
I’m only one person
Destroy me completely
Then throw me away

If my life were important I
Would ask will I live or die
But I know the answers
Lie far from this world,

Close Every Door to me
Hide all the world from me
Bar all the windows
And shut out the light

Keep those I love from me
Children of Joey
Are always alone
But I know I shall find
My own peace of mind
For I have been promised
A life of my own.

Its about time I had my own scene again...

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright shiny teapots and warm woollen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with string
New teapots are some of my favourite things

When a door slams
When a child screams
When my husband’s mean
I simply throw teapots at windows and things
And then I don’t feel so bad.

Doctors for husbands and crisp apple strudel
Doorbells and sleigh bells and CBBers with noodles
Lime-pits that pass for the smell of bad drains
These are the few of my favourite things

Girls in brown dresses with flame satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into spring
Strawberry jam is one of my favourite things

When a door slams
When a child screams
When my husband’s mean
I ask Rosli to gather jam jars and such things
And then I don’t feel so bad.

I closed my eyes, drew back the curtain
To see for certain what I thought I knew
Far far away, characters were lurking
But the world was working
Any dream will do

I wrote my story, in golden writing
Bright characters shining, wonderful and new

And in the east, the lesson was finishing
But my attention was missing
Any dream will do.

A crash of drums, a flash of light
My golden story flew out of sight
The characters faded into darkness
I was left alone

May I return to the beginning
The light is dimming and the dream is too
The story and I, we are still waiting
Still hesitating
Any dream will do.

A crash of drums, a flash of light
My golden story flew out of sight
The characters faded into darkness
I was left alone

May I return to the beginning
The light is dimming and the dream is too
The story and I, we are still waiting
Still hesitating
Any dream will do.

#23:  Author: A Naughty Middle PostPosted: Tue Apr 06, 2004 12:58 am

Here's hoping I can read about more naughty middles soon...

I sit and wait,
Does a prefect contemplate my fate
How did they know,
The places where we go,
When we’re playing up?
‘Cause I have been told that salvation,
Lives behind closed doors
So when I’m lying in my bed,
Thoughts running through my head
And in justice I’ll be dead
I’ll beg for mercy instead.

An old girl of the school,
She offers me protection
A lot of wise words and affection,
She tells me if I’m wrong.
And down the annexe block,
Wherever it may take me
I know that this is scary,
When I come to knock, will she forsake me?
She is the Abbess, the Head.

When I’m feeling weak
And my pain’s so bad I need a week
I look around
And I know I’ll always see Matey’s frown
And as the feeling grows
She applies lotion to my bones
And with drugs at my bed
I’m loving Matey instead.

And through it all
Jo offers me protection
A mothering and affection
She tells me to own up
And down the hidey hole
Wherever it may take thee
No alibi will save ye
When the Abbess comes to call, will she forsake me?
I’ll be a good girl instead.

Ahem, testing testing. One two one two. This is for for all those beautiful ladie...I mean, my beautiful wife, Madge Embarassed

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Never thought I’d have to live without Madge by my side
I’ve spent so many nights thinking through what I did wrong
That I wept long, I wondered how I’d get along

At least Rachael P, you had the grace
To explain to her my reason why I didn’t look her in the face
But she’s changed the bloody locks and won’t give me a spare key
If I’d known this for one second I’d have gagged that Jo-ey

‘Go on now go, walk out the door’
That’s what she said when I said Prim ain’t welcome here no more
Jo was the one only who tried to hurt them with her lies
My marriage crumbled, I wish Margot didn’t die
And I, will I survive?
With just socks to mend and kids to tend
I surely will survive
I’ve got maids to tend to me, I’m a big doctor in TB
I will survive I will survive, hey hey.

But it took all the strength I had not to fall apart
Being attacked by flying teapots was the hardest part
And I spent oh some many nights just feeling sorry for myself
I used to yell, and ring for whiskey with the bell

Now I see you, somebody else
Your not the feeble little woman that they write about
So if you feel like dropping in you can expect me to be free
But you’ve broken all the teapots so I can’t serve an English Tea

Go on now go, walk to the door
Try not to throw things, new windows ain’t that cheap no more
We can go for marriage counselling I’ll admit its me to blame
I need you back to darn my socks cause I’m starting to go lame.

So I, I will survive
As long as Madge a raise I give, I know I’ll stay alive
I’ve got all my life to live, surely Madgie will forgive?
I will survive, I will survive. HEY HEY.

But if someone can explain this to me, I'd be grateful as it's gone way over my head!

It has to be someone who knows whole songs off by heart - I never know much more than the chorus!!
Hmmm, Gloria Gaynor, Joseph, Robbie Williams, Sound of Music ...??
Who does that point to?

In ev'ry job that must be done
There is an element of fun
You find the fun and snap!
The job's a game
And ev'ry task you undertake
Becomes a piece of cake
A lark! A spree! It's very clear
to see that:

A spoonful of sugar helps the
medicine go down
medicine go down
In a most delightful way

A girl tidying her cubey
has very little time to waste
While dusting her bits of
shelves and books
Though quite intent in her pursuit
She has a merry tune to toot
She knows a song will move
the job along - for

A spoonful of sugar helps the
medicine go down
medicine go down
In a most delightful way

The girls that fetch the trunks
from the attics to the dormies
Never tire of ever running to and fro
Because they take a little nip
and give a little kick
to ev'ry Junior that they see
And hence (and hence) they find
(they find)
Their task is not a grind - for

A spoonful of sugar helps the
medicine go down
medicine go down
In a most delightful way

To be honest, I'm a sick and tired of you lot saying I'm just bossy and full of myself, I'll have you know I've helped many a troubled chalet girl over the years. So I'm singing this to celebrate being OOAOML...

I am ‘our one and only’
Nobody I’d rather be
I am ‘our one and only’
You can’t take that away from me.

I’ve been a prefect who was over-keen
A cheeky brat of thirteen
My soul embraces advising those school-girl faces
High hopes and aspirations, ideas above my station
Maybe, but all this time I’ve tried to walk with dignity and pride.

I am ‘our one and only’
Nobody I’d rather be
I am ‘our one and only’
And I’m as cheeky as can be.

I can’t star in this drabble without compromising
You make me out to be no fun
Call me ‘bossy boots’ and ‘tiring’
No one can be myself like I can
For this job I’m the best woman
And if all this is true, I am ‘our one and only Mary-Lou’

I am ‘our one and only’
Nobody can cheek like me
I am ‘our one and only’
You lot can’t take that away from me.

[Anna:]
Ma chere Mademoiselle, it is with deepest pride
and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight.
And now we invite you to relax, us pull up a
chair as the Speisesaal proudly presents - your
dinner!

Be our guest
Be our guest
Put our service to the test
Tie your napkin 'round your neck, Joey
And I’ll provide the rest
Lemon biscuits
Hot hor d’oeuvres
Why we only live to serve
Try it yourself, it's a laugh
Not convinced? Ask my staff
They will sing
They will dance
After all, Miss, this is the Alps
And a dinner here is never second best
Go on, unfold your menu
Take a glance and then you'll
Be our guest
Oui, a pest
Be our guest

Apfeltorte
Cheese souffle
Pie and pudding "en flambe"
We'll prepare and serve with flair
A culinary cabaret
You never work
You’ve never cared
But the banquet's all prepared
No one's gloomy nor will complain
When the wages stay quite lame
You never smile
You never laugh
With my fellow kitchen-staff.
[All:] Come on and lift your glass
Before we end this farce
So be our guest
[Karen:] When you’re stressed
‘We’ll work harder’ we suggest
[All:] Be our guest
Don't be a pest
Be our guest

Embarassed I'm extremely sorry my good lady, but I confused you with that other lady called 'the witch'. Thus the song should go:

At least RTW, you had the grace

followed perhaps with a slight alteration to the next line

To explain to her my reason why I couldn't look her in the face

Are there any of those 'mod' people about old girl? Perhaps I'll ask my secretary to have a word with someone, ask them to change it. Embarassed

Now what's all this about me and a carving knife. Honestly, I've never heard such rot in all my life. I'm a sweet innocent angel...

Well, it's one for the money,
Two for the show,
Three to get ready,
Now go, Rob, go.

But don't you mention my carving knife.
You can do anything but lay off of my carving knife.

Well, you can knock me down,
Call me a fraud,
Slander my name
All over the board.

Do anything to brighten your life, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my knife
Don't you mention my carving knife.
You can do anything but lay off of my carving knife.

You can kill me off,
Laugh at my song,
But Red Sarafan
Sure did no harm.

Do anything to humour your life, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my knife
Don't you mention my carving knife.
You can do anything but lay off of my carving knife.

This sure is a popular song isn't girls... lets all celebrate girl power!

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never cope wih Reg stuck by my side
You spent so many threads explaining why it was so wrong
That I grew strong, I learnt to move my life along

And now I star, in cyber-space
I was sick of him he never went past second base
He was a drunk, he was an addict, thanks to Ellie you all see,
Thanks to the rest of you, he’ll not be back to bother me.

Go on now go, walk out the door
Just turn around now, you’re not welcome anymore
You only loved me cuz my dad worked in TB
And he’s the best, something you could never be

And I, I will survive
As long as I stay rid of him I know I’ll stay alive
I’ve got all my life to live I’ve got all my love to give
I will survive, I will survive, hey hey.

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
When I learned that Elinor betrothed me to his heart
And I spent so many nights feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry ‘our love is one big fat ugly lie’

Now you see me, somebody new
I’m not that red-haired little triplet once engaged to you
So if you feel like droppin’ in, I’ll let you meet the CBB
There’s a bounty on your head, but they’ll kill you Reg for free.

Go on now go, walk out the door
Don’t turn back round now, can’t stand your ugly mug no more
Thank god I didn’t have to suffer as your wife
I’d have crumbled, I’d have taken my own life.

But I, I will survive
As long as I’m single again I know I’ll stay alive
There’s a new doctor at the san, so I’m flirting all I can
I will survive, I will survive, HEY HEY.

(from the Tigger Movie)

The wonderful thing about Chalet girls
Is Chalet girls are wonderful things!
Their stockings are fixed by darning
Their dresses are brown or blue
They’re bouncy, trouncy,
flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing
About CS girls is
We’re the only ones!

Chalet girls are good and bad
Chalet girls are awfully sweet
Ev’ryone el-us is jealous
That’s why I repeat…and repeat

The wonderful thing about Chalet girls
Is Chalet girls are marvellous gals
We’re loaded with vim and vigour
They love to dance up and down!
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
They’re jumpy, bumpy,
clumpy, thumpy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Chalet Girls is:
We’re the only ones!

(from the Tigger Movie again!)

To Kathie:

It’s tough being small
Just stand out from the rest
It’s not easy to find someone
To see your best

You’re kind if not tall
I can’t find a truer friend
You’ll be there behind me
Like too few friends can

Who knows the right thing to say
When I’m feeling so blue
Oh Kathie, you know being with you
Is my favourite thing to do

I can’t jump too high
But Kathie, you can touch
The sky above
With you here, I know that
Life is much more fun

You should like being small
Small is just a word
With you to call a friend
A friend who is always there
For my deepest feelings to be shared

Now, Kathie, even though
You are a very small person
You’ve got a very big heart
Which means you’re ten feet tall to me

#72:  Author: Kathie PostPosted: Fri Apr 09, 2004 1:38 pm

To Nancy:

Fair weather days
Can melt the ice in many a cold heart
Till the clouds roll in
And then you find they’re frightened of the dark
Some may come
And some may go
They’ll meet you high
Then move you low
But I will always be the one who cares
I’ll be there
I’ll be there
Whenever you need a friend
Yeah, I’ll be there
Whenever you need a friend
I will be there, Nancy

I may have to go in body
But my soul is with you still
When you think of me
I’m by your side
To guide you from all ill
We all need somebody who
We can always run to
And I will always be the one, for you
I’ll be there
Whenever you need a friend
Yeah, I’ll be there
Whenever you need a friend
I’ll be there for you, Nancy.
.
We all need somebody who
We can always run to
And I will always be the one, for you
I’ll be there
I’ll be there
Whenever you need a friend
Yeah, I’ll be there
Whenever you need a friend
I will be there, Nancy, I’ll be there
Whenever you need a friend
I’ll be there for you, Nancy, I’ll be there.
Whenever you need a friend
I’ll be there for you, Nancy.

Explaining to Peggy about Herr Laubach:

I love to laugh
Loud and long and clear
I love to laugh
It’s getting worse ev’ry year

The more I laugh
The more I fill with glee
And the more the glee
The more the merrier me
It’s embarrassing!
The more I’m a merrier me!

Some people twitch their noses
Looking something like this (imitation of rabbit)
Some people lose their temper for goodness sake
Huffing and Puffing like wolves

Some speak too fast
Some only blast – ha!
Others, they twitter like birds
Then there’s the kind
What can’t make up their mind

When things strike me as funny
I can’t hide it inside
And squeak – as the squeaklers do
I’ve got to let go with a ho-ho-ho
And a ha-ha-ha………..too!

I love to laugh
Loud and long and clear
I love to laugh
So ev’rybody can hear
The more I laugh
The more I fill with glee
And the more the glee
The more I’m a merrier me!

This is the female members of the CBB ode to Jack Maynard

To the Tune of Aqua's, Dr Jones

(the lines in brackets are sung by Dr Jack back to the CBB'er)

Sometimes, the character is right...
You fall in love for the first time...
Heartbeat, and lines so sweet...
Imaginary love in the moonlight...

Ah-yippie-yi-yu
Ah-yippie-yi-yeah
Ah-yippie-yi-yu-ah

Now that Joey is gone...
Your gonna be all alone...
Please come and visit my dreams...
I never felt more alone...

(Baby, I am missing you.)
I want you by my side...
(And I hope you'll miss me too.)
Come back and stay...
(I think about you every day.)
I really want you too...
(You swept my feet right off the ground, you're the love I found )

Doctor Jack, Jack, Calling Doctor Jack
Doctor Jack, Doctor Jack, Get up now.. (Wake up now.)

Doctor Jack, Jack, Calling Doctor Jack
Doctor Jack, Doctor Jack, Wake up now...(Wake up now.)

Ah-yippie-yi-yu
Ah-yippie-yi-yeah
Ah-yippie-yi-yu-ah

Ah-yippie-yi-yu
Ah-yippie-yi-yeah
Ah-yippie-yi-yu-ah

All I think of is you, and all of the things we could have...
Doctor, what can I do?
Why can’t I find a real man like that?

(Baby, I am missing you.)
I want you by my side...
(And I hope you'll miss me too.)
Come back and stay...
(I think about you every day.)
I really want you too...
(You swept my feet right off the ground, you're the love I found )

Doctor Jack, Jack, Calling Doctor Jack
Doctor Jack, Doctor Jack, Get up now.. (Wake up now.)

Doctor Jack, Jack, Calling Doctor Jack
Doctor Jack, Doctor Jack, Wake up now...(Wake up now.)

Ah-yippie-yi-yu
Ah-yippie-yi-yeah
Ah-yippie-yi-yu-ah

Ah-yippie-yi-yu
Ah-yippie-yi-yeah
Ah-yippie-yi-yu-ah

Please, please hold me...
Please, please hold me...
Please, please hold me...
Please, please hold me...

Doctor Jack, Jack - (Wake up now.)
Doctor Jack, Jack - (Wake up now.)
Doctor Jack, Jack - (Wake up now.)
Doctor Jack, Jack,
Wake up now...

Ah-yippie-yi-yu
Ah-yippie-yi-yeah
Ah-yippie-yi-yu-ah

Ah-yippie-yi-yu
Ah-yippie-yi-yeah
Ah-yippie-yi-yu-ah

Doctor Jack, Jack, Calling Doctor Jack...
Doctor Jack, Doctor Jack, Get up now...(Wake up now.)

Doctor Jack, Jack, Calling Doctor Jack
Doctor Jack, Doctor Jack, Wake up now...(Wake up now.)

Look, ladies, I realise that you all seem to have this bizarre picture of me as arrogant and faithless, but I love Lady Russell! So much so, that I'm going to apologise to her in song right now.

After all, Maynard bursts into tune and gets women falling at his feet and I'm ten times better looking than he is!

To the tune of Aqua's Turn Back Time:

If I had time to reason,
If I had time to think it through,
Never, my darling, would I cheat on you.

I will always have a cross to bear,
Your hurt reminds me she was here,
Please have the faith,
to take me back tonight.

If only I could turn back time,
I would stay faithful - well I might,
If only I could turn back time,
I wouldn't let her stay for the night... for the night.

She doesn't even teach science,
And she's too long in the tooth.
I'm having pangs of conscience,
Because I'm missing you.

But she stole in like a thief in the night,
Confused me talking about 'can', 'may' and 'might.'
I didn't have strength,
To turn her down that night.

If only I could turn back time,
I would stay faithful - well I might,
If only I could turn back time,
I wouldn't let her stay...

Your hurt reminds me she was here
Your hurt reminds me she was here
(repeat chorus until fade out)

I'd like to take you all back to that time when Grizel Cochrane ran off to the Rhone and we had to seriously consider her future as Head Girl of the Chalet School. EBD made it very difficult for us, writing in a girl with so many faults. I'm so very glad that we gave her another chance, especially as you girls are so supportive of her. If the CBB had been around at the time, you would have made my decision much easier. This is how I imagine it would have gone... (from the Sound of Music)

EBD Well, Madame, I hope this new infraction ends
whatever doubts you may still have about Grizel’s future here.

MADAME I always try to keep faith in my doubts, EBD.

JOEY After all, the wool of a black sheep is just as warm.

EBD We are not talking about sheep, black or white, Josephine. Of all the candidates for the Head Girl I would say that Grizel is the least likely--

MADAME (chides them).

MADAME sees CBBers gathered, staring at them, puzzled.

MADAME (to the CBBers) ... er, we were speculating about the
qualifications of some of our prefects. EBD and Joey were trying to help me by expressing opposite points of view. Tell me, Catherine, what do you think of ... Grizel?

CATHERINE She's a wonderful girl ... some of the time.

MADAME Ravenseye?

RAVENSEYE It's very easy to like Grizel ... except when it's, uh,
difficult.

MADAME And you, Rachael P?

RACHAEL P Oh, I love her very dearly. But she always seems to be in
trouble, doesn't she?

NICCI Exactly what I say!
(sings)
She climbs a tree and scrapes her knee
Her dress has got a tear

VIKKI (sings)
She vaselines the blackboards
And whistles on the stair

LESLEY (sings)
She causes loads of trouble
And has an indolent stare

KATHY S (sings)
I've even heard her talking in the corridor

SUSAN (sings) She's always late for Prayers
RACHAEL P (sings) But her penitence is real
CATHERINE B (sings) She's always late for everything
KB (sings) Except for every meal
EBD(sings)
I hate to have to say it
But I very firmly feel

EBD (sings)
Grizelda’s not an asset to the Chalet

ELLIE (sings) I'd like to say a word in her behalf

MADAME (spoken) Then say it, Sister Margaretta.

ELLIE (sings) Grizel makes me laugh

EBD scowls. MADAME smiles.

MADAME (sings)
How do you solve a problem like Grizelda?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?

XANTHE (sings) How do you find a word that means Grizelda?
CATHERINE (sings) A flibbertijibbet!
LISS (sings) A will-o'-the wisp!
LISA T (sings) A clown!

MADAME (sings)
Many a thing you know you'd like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand

CHLOE (sings)
But how do you make her stay
And listen to all you say?

MADAME (sings) How do you stop the girl from being bad?

RACHAEL P (sings) Oh, how do you solve a problem like Grizelda?
MADAME (sings) How do you train a schoolgirl out of hand?

RAVENSEYE (sings)
When I'm with her I'm confused
Out of focus and bemused
And I never know exactly where I am
CAROLYN (sings) Unpredictable as weather
CATHERINE (sings) She's as flighty as a feather
RACHAEL P (sings) She's a darling!
EBD (sings) She's a demon!
RACHAEL P (sings) She's a lamb!

JENNIE (sings) She'd outpester any pest. Drive a hornet from its nest
KATHYE (sings) She can throw a whirling dervish out of words
LULIE (sings)She is gentle! She is wild!
CATHERINE (sings)She's a riddle! She's a child!
EBD (sings)She's a headache!
RACHAEL P (sings)She's an angel!
MADAME (sings) She's a girl!

The CBBers press their hands together and gaze heavenward.

How do you solve a problem like Grizelda?
How do you understand and break her down?
How do you find a word that means Grizelda?
A flibbertijibbet!
POLLY A will-o'-the wisp!
DONNA A clown!

CBBERS
Many a thing you know you'd like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand
MADAME (sings) But how do you make her stay
PATMAC (sings) And stop her from running away?
CHELSEA (sings) How do you stop the girl from being bad?

CBBERS Oh, how do you solve a problem like Grizelda?
How do you stop a school girl breaking bounds.
