Sybil looked at Hugh. His face so was so full of pride and gratitude that she felt that everything was worth it. The long months of waiting, the increasing pain, then this.

She was lying propped up on her pillows feeling exhausted, but she was finding it hard to sleep. Then came the words that she had been waiting for.

'Sybil, I want to call him after his uncles. How does David Timothy sound to you?'

'Oh. Hugh, that would be perfect, absolutely perfect. I want Josette to be his godmother.'

'Agreed. Tomorrow I'll bring some champagne. Nothing else will do to welcome Master David Timothy Lyall into this world.'

Sybil felt that life had nothing more to offer her.

This was really lovely and it's great to see Sybil and Josette's relationship develop to the point Sybil wants her as her baby's godmother
