OOAO rolled her eyes and stared at the imps of her fellow prefects.
"What is the matter now? Still want to cane Margot Maynard, Hilary?"
Hilary Bennett whacked her cane on the grand table.
"Yes! I am going to make her wish she had never been born!"
"Still bullying your sister Josette?"
"Exactly! That girl is a disgrace to the family!"
With all their woes, the prefects had come to Mary Lou.
"What are we to do with Joan Baker?"
"What are we to do about that Joan of Arc essay?"
"What are we to do about Joan Bertram?"
Mary Lou took a deep breath, decided that everybody was really very silly and left the building. She packed her trunk and said goodbye to the circus (known as the Chalet School). She told Miss Annersley she resigned as Head Girl and was fed up with being the champion "butter in" of the school, when it was so clearly not appreciated. Especially by the CBB. Or should that be the BBC?
She booked a ticket to Timbuktu and was never heard of again.

Still Len was a lot less annoying about it than OOAO.
