My bunny kept me awake last night til I finally got up and wrote this. Not sure if it's been done before, but here goes anyway!


Simone looked miserably at her reflection in the cubicle mirror. She frowned at what she saw. She was plain and sallow looking and did not feel that she was at all pleasing to look at. No wonder Jo didn’t love her!

Simone picked up the pair of scissors she’d found and held out her long black plait. She worked the scissors and began to saw off the thick hair close to her head. Eventually, the plait was freed and she dropped it onto the bed. But her momentary feeling of pleasure turned to dismay as she stared at herself in the mirror. What had she done? What would Cousine Elise say? How Jo would laugh; she would never love Simone now!

Simone began to sob and she leapt to her feet, desperate to escape the dormitory before anyone saw her. She fled downstairs and out of the Chalet, running tow the sanctuary of the trees where she could find somewhere to hide herself away.
