Many months and dangers had passed since they were last together. Now, waiting in the quiet room, doubts entered his loyal heart. What if she’d forgotten him? What if she’d not missed him as he had missed her? What if another now held his place in her heart?

Then, at last, he heard her voice, the voice he had been yearning to hear for so long. Too impatient to wait another moment before he saw her again, he jumped up and rushed from the room in search of her.

She heard him coming and turned, and whether it was he who saw her first, or the other way around, it is hard to say.

“Rufus! Oh my precious Rufus!” she exclaimed, giving him such a welcome that all his doubts were dispelled forever.

He was in a strange place, far from the land where he was born, but he was home.

Never expected it to be Rufus. Wonder what horrors he must have gone through. It was so nice of Mr. Flower to rescue him.
And nice that at last he was home.

Awwwww! I didn't think it would be Rufus but I loved it and in a way it's nicer that it was Rufus than any of the other characters Smile
