I'm playing with an idea about Jacynth, that I started with Richenda ages ago. Does anything ever get said about what she does and where she goes after the school, other than being an amazing cellist and wowing the world? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My understanding is that she doesn't get married, because Jack Lambert discusses her a bit. She stays with Ruth and whomever her husband is--Gay's brother--when she isn't touring, and, obviously, Jack is named after her. Jacynth continues to be close friends with Gay Lambert and views the Lamberts as her family and is a brevet-aunt of Jack and Anne Lambert.

This is all I know.

My story will have to change direction somewhat. Does anyone know what happens to Richenda? Same question really as to further life/marrying/work whatever really.

Don't think she's really mentioned after she leaves. She'd only have been 19 or 20 by the end of the series, though, so she was probably still studying Chinese art or whatever, with a view to running a gallery. So her future's open to the imagination - look forward to reading the drabble Very Happy

Oh no- but thanks. I'll check it out. Given the drought on Richenda however, I'm going to swith to her instead. A few questions though:
Is Professor Fry called Richard?
Is he actually a Quaker, and therefore was she?
Do we ever learn of her stopping wearing glasses?

This is off the top of my head but:
1. Yes, I think she was named for him.
2. I think so.
3. Yes, we do. Somone comments on it, I think when she is a Prefect.

It says that Prof Fry was a Quaker and that Richenda had been to meetings with him, but also that Nanny was staunch C of E and she took Richenda to church with her - Richenda goes to the C of E prayers at school.

I was rereading Adrienne earlier this week, and Len comments on Richenda not wearing her glasses at the pillowcase and sheets party at half-term. Richenda says that she still needs them for close work, and that it is nearly 3 1/2 years since the accident.

Look forward to seeing the drabble cos she is one of my favourite characters.
