Guenever Howell, born March 14

She's small, pretty and slightly built, with long curly black hair, a small pointed face and dark eyes. She's strong willed and rather private in nature, untidy and careless with her positions, and is musical and likes writing.

Her parents drowned when when she was four, she was then raised by her older half-brother Ernest, a curate, one of four older stepsiblings, the others being David, a naval officer (married to Owen), Evan, a surgeon and Nesta, a nurse. She was also cared for by her nurse, Megan.

She was magazine prefect in her last year of school, and planned to be a writer, but there is a later reference to her keeping house for her brother.

I think Ernest takes over part of Plas Gwyn in the Maynards' absence in Joey Goes to the Oberland, and Gwensi is to keep house for him. I remember her making some kind of comment about how much more fun it would be if the Maynards were still around, too.
