How much would a young (about 1 or 2 years) St bernard dog weigh? They are big dogs, so I assume it would be quite a bit, but really I have no idea. I need to know for part of a drabble.

Thanks.

A full grown adult weighs between 12 and 15 stone, dogs heavier than bitches, I would say at about that age, adolesence, he'd probably be about 6 - 8 stone, they don't fully mature till they are around 3

He must cost a fortune to feed. Jo should take him into account when she's considering whether they can afford more children!

My thoughts were not quite as polite as that! Mind you, there was a farmer savaged by his pig which weighed 47 stone! No wonder the guy came off worse!

*grin*
When my grandparents got married one of their wedding presents was a St Bernard dog! Laughing Rolling Eyes (this would have been 1937/8ish I think) They had to give him back to the donor after about a week because they couldn't afford to feed him! (He'd previously lived at a fish and chip shop, and been fed on whatever was left when the shop closed at night!)
