Muh, what a pile of old drivel.

Was so excited when I saw it for sale and bought it - and then was frantically disappointed with it before I'd even read half of it. Quite a let down actually, especially as I loved the transcript of Top Secret.

I've only read it once, and don't really feel inclined to read it again. I will do soon, just to see if it can grow on me at all!

Over all, what sounded an exciting book was actually quite boring and rather predictable.

This is the only one of the Chudleigh series that I have read, and that was because I found it in the back of a cupboard (without DW unfortunately Laughing ). It is written in a totally different way to Chalet School, although you can see certain character traits showing through- making the best of a bad situation (in this case being kidnapped and having to live in the side of a mountain Rolling Eyes ) and not being a spineless jellyfish *lol*.
Once I started it I felt like I had to finish it, just to see what happens, although it was a bit of a chore at times. Am beginning to loath it now as I am typing out a transcript of it (and cursing myself for agreeing to do it).

Some of the ideas are just plain ridiculous- after Chudleigh escapes he arrives home complete with the man who was helping to keep him captive and who is now totally reliant on Chudleigh as he has never lived outside his little tribe and has no idea how to survive on his own Rolling Eyes

However, when I first read it I did quite enjoy it and as I have only read this one, I don't know how it compares to the rest of the series and it was nice to be able to read something written by EBD other than CS.
