Rachel came up with the idea of the autobiography, including the reason someone missed the last MK Gather, and Sugar suggested the drabble!!! :halo: :halo: :halo: :halo:

The prisoner stood to attention in front of the Governor’s desk, warily eyeing the pile of mobile phones in front of her. She knew exactly where they had come from, but there was no way that she was going to admit it.

“Would you care to tell me about these?” asked the Governor gently, knowing what the answer would be before she asked, but having to ask it anyway.

“No idea, Governor,” came the answer. “Did someone bring them into the prison illegally or something?”

“Or something,” replied the Governor drily. “We have sufficient evidence to put this down to you, Butchreen, and therefore I’m afraid that you will lose all privileges for the coming week.”

“But Governor, that means ..”

“That you lose your parole privileges for this weekend. Yes, I’m afraid so. Which means that instead of joining your friends in Milton Keynes you will be staying here.”

“I’m disappointed to see you here again so soon, Butchreen,” said the Governor grimly. “I hoped that you’d learnt your lesson two months ago.”

The problem this time was missing keys. One of the new Warders had found his keys missing for most of a shift, and though he’d said nothing at the time, he’d gone straight to the Governor as soon as he’d gone off duty. The Governor had sighed, and sent for Butchreen as a matter of course.

“You have another pass this weekend, don’t you?”

Butchreen nodded, guessing what was coming. This time though, she had an ace up her sleeve. All the keys had been copied, not just the ones she needed immediately.

“No trip to Derbyshire?” she asked, careful resignation in her voice.

Once back on the wing she made her plans. This outing she was determined not to miss. Early Saturday morning saw her using the keys to let herself off the wing while her women caused a distraction. Once outside, she unwound the rope tied around her middle, and swung it at the outer wall of the prison. On the second attempt it caught on the top, and she swarmed up it agilely. A car was waiting in the road outside, and before long she was on her way north. The traffic on the M25 was fairly light, and she was making good time towards the M1 when she heard the sound she’d been listening for. Looking behind her she saw the flashing lights of a couple of police cars coming up fast. She pulled into the middle lane, giving them room to pass her, but one of them pulled alongside and the other came up close behind her. She was waved over onto the hard shoulder, and she obeyed, shrugging philosophically. The party would have been fun, especially as it was going to be a surprise, but there’d be other times and other Gathers. And she’d hidden the keys in the grounds before she’d left.
