Post subject:  Twas night at the Gather....
'Twas night at the Gather and in Milton Keynes,
Not a snore could be heard (not even the Squeen's!)
The hordes had arrived, some by car, some by train,
Nothing could stop them, not snow, hail or rain.
There were cookies and cake, and drinks of all kinds,
Enough sugar to drive them all out of their minds!
The beds were all spread, and the pillows all plumped,
And all 'round the room people's stuff had been dumped,
But not one CBBer would head off to bed,
Until every last one of the drabbles was read,
The room was bestrewn with books, cakes and knitting,
And there in the middle, the rabble were sitting.
On the floor or in chairs, as each one was able,
(There were even a few who sat under the table...)
There was to-ing and fro-ing, and what a to-do,
When one of their number got locked in the loo!
But finally everyone was ready (let's hope)
And drabbles were drawn from a large envelope.
Some were comic, some tragic, and some just perverse,
(There were even a couple entirely in verse)
The readings began, 'midst the laughter and splutters,
For all of this party were quite simply nutters!!!
And when all were read, and the drabblefest done,
They all headed bedwards (well, it WAS half past one...)
Twas night at the Gather, and in Milton Keynes,
Many snores sounded, (including the Squeen's!)
