Post subject:  The two Vanessas - Finished 12/9/10
Nessa was very close to her brother, Mike. He was like a mother to her, while her real mother and father argued and argued like hell.
They'd argue about anything, even the weather was once argued about.
Often they'd argue about who should do this piece of housework. Mike had taught her to help him do it, while they argued. When they argued about something in front of them he took her hand and walked her away.
When the siblings were younger, their parents argued on who should take them home. They often had to wait 3 hours for someone to pick them up, until Mike was the right age to walk by himself, and then he'd take Nessa with him.
When he had to go to High School, she was lonely, because in the playground she had no-one to talk to or play with. She would just play or read by herself. She'd read about families who were tight-knit, loving and happy, and would just dream of living like them.
But at school, when they had to do partner-work, she never found anyone, and often was put into a three, and the pair often left her out, put all the work to her, and discuss the things Nessa was never interested in. And then they'd take most of the credit, trying to block Nessa out.
Nessa was hard-working, and way above the average of the year, but that was only because she worked - or so she thought. She liked doing a bit of cookery, but she knew she'd never meet professional standard.
She liked to write scripts of people with horrible family situations, then they find a magical ring, or necklace, bangle, and once, even a nose-ring. With this they make magic, and make people act different.
But then the reality kicked in, and she then had to go somewhere, and they never finished.
She was never sorry to leave her old school. But on her first day of High School, her knees were knocking, but went in with Mike, while the parents argued about something else.
But at least at this High School not many people from her old school were there, the ones that did were in other classes and they stuck together, almost like glue. They never were mixers.
But on that day she met Vanna, who as soon as she was 14, Vanna was going to go to the Swiss branch of the Chalet School, and a whole load of other friendly girls.
But still she stuck to Mike for quite a bit into school.

Most of the people at this High already had started to go off in clans, they came from the feeder schools, and so already knew their friends. Two people in Nessas class didn't go around in clans, Herself and who she called "The other Vanessa".
They started to bond. In a science experiment that had to be done in pairs, Vanna had shyly asked Nessa to be her partner. Nessa introduced Vanna to Mike. They were quickly known as The Two Vanessas.
Vanna had come from somewhere else in the country. Her grandmother was the famous poet Amy Stevens.
At break and lunch the two and Mike chatted merrily and Mike gave the pair short lessons in year 7 work.
Vanna was a brilliant musician, and missed part of Science each week to have her Violin lesson, with the very patient Mr. Griffin, and was already Grade 6, with practice.
They made part of the way home together with Mike, but had to split at a bus stop, where Vanna waited for her bus, and Nessa and Mike went on up the hill.
The walking home was fun for Nessa, but home was still more of a headache than a home.
Nessa had started to tell Vanna of her home life, and Vanna took it seriously. Vanna was in a broken up family herself, and was living with her father, while her mother visited occasionally.
But the class started to turn against the pair, but the pair didn't know why.

"Kirsty Raynor, what are you doing? Get back to your seat. Now, if you please,"
Kirsty scowled, and went back to her seat. She was about to slosh her water-bottle behind the two Vanessas, and drench them, hoping it would look like an accident, but Miss Moore was firmer than all the metals of the world put together, or so Kirsty thought.
Miss Moore was good with 4 things: English (Well, she was an English teacher), Teaching, Names (by the end of the second lesson she knew every pupil by name and sight) and noticing relationships. She could tell who was in each friendship clan, who was always alone, and who went about in pairs or threes.
Nessa and Vanna had spent some of their free time hunting down the cause. It had passed from person to person, the last being Kirsty, who had revealed that the person who had told her was Hetty Lilley.
That finally led them to the cause, even having to tickle Barry Deardrow for simply ages, even though he was very ticklish.
The search had led them to a boy from Nessas old school, who loved gossip, even if it was considered very female by the other boys.
But now they at least knew the cause, even if they didn't know what everyone was talking about, or saying about them.

Nessa was snappy. The weather was awful and walking to school in the rain she hated, she had a nagging headache from last nights row, because of the same row she had not slept, and Mike was quite ill.
To cap it all, the morning lessons were Maths, PE and Geography.
Maths was a complete fiasco. Their teacher often gave homework on Wednesday due for Thursday. It could have been more bearable, but on Wednesday they had Maths last thing, and on Thursday it was first, so it had to be done at home, unless you were early to school. Because of the said row, Nessa couldn't concentrate on any homework so she had not done it, which was a shame, since Nessa liked Maths. Often when the Wednesday/Thursday arrangement took place she hadn't been able to concentrate at home, and Miss Wilkins had let her tongue loose until Nessa was blazing. Someone had giggled at that point and Miss Wilkins had loosened her tongue to her as well. Nessa was given detention, which Nessa actually never minded. It was a very good excuse to not have to go home where last nights row would be continued.
Worse came just in maths, for Nessa couldn't concentrate, and had to spend her time concentrating on not falling to sleep. She was yawning and dreamy, so much so that she was shoved out of the classroom. Fortunately no-one spotted her, and she had a little doze until the bell rang. Collecting her bag, she scurried off to PE, which she disliked, always being forced into a group with people she hated.
She also hated Geography, and that didn't go well either, because the teacher had taken a real grudge against Nessa, just because her brother hated Geography as much as she did, and it was a nightmare of a lesson for her before Lunch, where she hid herself away in a bush.
But unfortunately Kirsty had found her there. Kirsty blamed her Maths Detention on Nessa entirely, even though it was mainly Kirstys fault, who had not even tried to do the work bidden to them. She actually just slapped Nessa around the face, kick her leg and run away quickly, before Nessa had a chance to react.
So when Nessa finally got out of School, she head towards home with a high speed.

"When was the last time you saw Vanessa?"
"Which one?" Kirsty replied, in a cheeky tone.
"Vanessa Avery,"
"Oh, Vanna? Yesterday just outside school. She was walking down the road, going home, so far as I know,"
The investigator sighed. "Anyone else go that way?"
"Nessa, that's Vanessa Clickworth and her brother, but Nessa was in Maths Deten. and her brother's ill. Then there's Arag Cone who goes that way, but I don't know the names of other people that go that way,"
"Right. Do you know what lesson Arag Cone is in now?"
"Science, but I'm not sure about his set, though I think it's set 1, but I don't know which room," Kirsty garbled.
The Inspector asked a receptionist, who looked through some files and then said he was in S1. So the inspector gave Kirsty a note to give to Arag, then when she did that and handed Arag to the Inspector before heading for science, to learn in boredom about atoms.
Arag wasn't very informative, just that Vanna had got to the bus stop and he'd spotted a man in a balaclava driving a beaten-up grey car, but it wasn't enough evidence for the Inspector.
Nessa wasn't in school that day, opting to not go this occasion. She was more headachey than ever, and was up a tree in the park. No-one was bothered by this, Vanna being missing, and the fact that the school assumed anyone off was at home, unless they were excessively off.
She had her watch and her phone. She fiddled with her phone, and found the news headline, which shocked her deeply.

Nessa nearly fell out of the tree. But she clung on and clambered to her perch again, and shoved her phone into her bag. Then she put her bag on her back. She saw the time. 12:30, and she knew some other people from her school would be here in a bit - it was lunchtime and you would have free access to get out then.
She clambered down and went as far away as she could with knowledge of the way back, and unknowingly went the way Vanna was forced.
A battered grey car was coming up the street, and it halted just ahead of where Nessa was walking.
"Oi. Girl," came the deep voice of a man in a balaclava.
Nessa stopped, rather stunned.
"Get in the car!" He said.
Nessa went the other way, until she heard the car-door open, and a sound that she didn't recognise, that was the cocking of a gun.
Then she felt the man move her bag out of the way, a gun on her back, and she froze, like an ice-lolly.
"Get in the back of the car or I'll shoot you into pieces," The man said.
Nessa obeyed mechanically, with a frown on her face. Her heart was beating and she could feel it, almost hear it, and she trembled dreadfully. She was white, and it made her look like a piece of paper.

Nessa looked around the tiny room she was imprisoned in. It smelt like cats urine. The tiny window was barred. There was a metal bed in the corner, and a thick layer of dust on the floor. There was no light except from the tiny window. It was very eerie in that room.
Then the sound of footsteps and a key in a lock ensued.
"You. Girl. Tomorrow We're taking you to HQ for our experiments," a gruff voice said.
Nessa nodded silently, and looked at the man in the balaclava still.
He vanished, locking the door behind him. Nessa stared blankly, fiddling with her pencilcase which she'd taken out of her bag. She had no idea what she was doing. She was lost in thought.
Nessa didn't even sleep that night, just stare at the wall blankly. She was too deep and confused to react to anything, even a massive sudden roar of sound, of people singing.
Next day Nessa had barely moved. The man shoved a balaclava on her and dragged her to a shiny black car. The gray one he'd sold.
She still stared into space, and never noticed anything happen to her until she heard a familiar voice.
"Nessa!"

"Vanna," Nessa said dreamily, then woke up with a start.
"Yes. It's dreadful here, isn't it?"
"I'll say! And now we're stuck here we're just going to sit here, are we?"
"Course not. Those people, whoever they are, are going to drag us for their experiments,"
"You two, up here and don't make the tiniest noise," said another balaclavad man. They obeyed. They were taken to a room with a loooooooong table. There were many people around it, all wearing balaclavas.
"Can we take these off now?" asked one of the people.
"Yes, what harm can it do?" said the one right at the head, and they all took the balaclavas off.
The two girls thought they'd walked into a story-book by accident. There were many characters from books that were actually seen as good people.
Sir James Russell headed the table, with Jack Maynard on his right. On his left was another doctor, and from there there were lots of doctors, the many people in Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Septimus Heap, and all the characters in the St. Clares and Malory Towers books. And a whole hog of others.
"Let the experiments... BEGIN!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!" Sir James Russell said.
But Vanna thought that some of the San. doctors who she'd known weren't there. She'd been to the Switzerland branch a couple of times, her aunt was there recovering from a bad illness.
"Oh, Violet, what do you want?"
"It's a matter that should not be revealed in front of the real-life girls,"

"Not enough money, I suppose. The one moving out would be homeless,"
"I'm bored," Vanna said pointedly, ages later. "What is there to do?"
"Errrrmmmm.... You could sleep, hang yourself with your tie, find a cloth and clean this room, ask random pointless questions, find a doctor to have sex with, write a diary about our experiences, anything else?"
Vanna looked at her darkly for a while.
"I'm serious, Nessa! They could start the experiments at any time now!"

The very dull time was even more dull, with Vanna linking to anything comedic she could think of. She'd made a lot more than Nessa could remember. Nessa was noting every little tiny detail she could find, including a long list of crossovers from the table, which they'd not heard from since the first day, but who chucked food down from day to day to the girls.
But something happened to relieve the boredom for a bit.
(Quickly goes to random name site)
Two more girls were led to the room Vanna and Nessa were in. They were called Emma and Marina, and so the girls talked together. Nessa learnt that the pair didn't know eachother, and both had been teased for working hard at their schools.
Emma wanted to be an accountant, and Marina wanted to be a teacher. The girls got on well, and didn't bicker with eachother, even though it was really hot in the dungeon room they were locked into, and they couldn't reach the tiny windows scattered right at the top of the room.
But the merriment did have to end, and it ended the next day.

Doctor Maynard went down to the dungeon room early next morning.
"You 4! Out - Now!" he said.
Vanna, Nessa, Emma and Marina were quick as a flash in that. They held hands as they went up the spiral steps, and Emma was trembling.
Doctor Maynard knocked on a door, into the room with the long table in.
"The test subjects are here," he said simply, and all five were bid to sit down.
"We are going to Switzerland today, so it is necessary to be able to conceal you," Sir Jem said.
"Conceal us?" said Nessa, jokingly looking around for a massive box. "How are we supposed to hide, in a magic box of some sort?"
"Silencio," said one of the people up table.
Nessa tried to say something, but found it impossible.
"Hermy-one will shrink you using the shrinking charm, then we'll depart,"
"It's Her-my-oh-knee," Hermione said, protestingly.
"But won't the officials be suspicious when the whole hog of us try to get on a boat or plane?" asked Vanna.
"Each person who can apparate will take two others with them, and anyone who isn't a doctor that is left out have arranged the transport for themselves. Now Hermy-one will shrink you,"
"I won't until you can say my name right!"
"I wish Luna and Hagrid had agreed to this," said a red-headed girl. "Reducio,"
The four girls shrank until they were the height of well-burned candles. Then they were stuffed in doctors pockets.

"Her, as in how did her hair get messy, my, as in where did my cat go, oh, as in Oh s*** you can't say my name right, knee as in I bashed my knee. It's simple enough,"
"Hermy-own?" Jem said.
"Oh God!"
"Her-my-oh-knee?" Jem said slower than it takes to train a troll.
"Finally!" Hermione said in sarcastic tones.
She did as she was bidden. When it was only doctors in there, Jem smiled.
"What a fuss Hermy-own has when you don't say her name exactly right," he said simply.
"Would you like it if someone kept on getting your name wrong?"
And Jem fell silent for a bit.

Vanna sat in Jacks pocket, feeling rather sick. Being shrunk was no laughing matter and it smelt awful, sweat and dried blood mixing.
She felt in her pocket. There was a thin piece of wood in it. She didn't recognise it. It was a wand stolen off of Luna Lovegood, but she didn't know this, either. She gazed at it, wondering what it was, fiddling with it rather occupied in thought.
"Well, I bet it is someone elses property,"
Travelling wasn't brilliant either, when Jack was walking she felt each bump and she felt every vibration in the coach. She fiddled with the wand some more, wishing she could do something with it.
Vanna was thinking of the Harry Potter books. How come they were in real life?
"So where are we going?" asked someone.
"Are you deaf, blind and idiotic?" said Jack, rather menacingly. "The San. branch in Switzerland,"
"Right, but aren't those two idiots, Phil Graves and Reg Entwistle there? The ones that won't agree to the plan?"
"Well, Phil and Reg can carry on working there, we don't have to tell them anything,"
"I've forgotten the plan," said another.
Vanna peered out of the pocket. There was another pocket, with Nessa peering out of it. Vanna went straight out of Jacks pocket into Jems.
"Let's listen to this, it could be interesting," Nessa murmured, but no-one except Vanna could of heard her if she had shouted loud as she could.
"Well, the story characters want to come to this world. Some of them decided to come, some of them came by accident through teleports or mistaken Apparation, and the others were dragged in. But they all can't be visible to normal society, just us, and people who are considered madder than cheese. We are going to change that," Jem said.
"So why did we kidnap 4 girls? What have they to do with the plan?"
"All will be revealed, but now we are too near the ferry to discuss secrets,"
"Alright but you really should have gone for 1st class,"

"Sir Jem, I've heard some valuable information for you," said Violet, who was known for eavesdropping effectively.
"What is it?" Jem said moodily, rather annoyed at Hermiones fussiness over her name. This was because she hated being called "Hermy," by any human, and ever since they met she had been fussy about her name. They had just had an argument, and he was hoping Violets information was valuable indeed.
"Sir," she said as if Jem was her teacher. "I have information that the police are going to search all the flats in this area. They will find the girls in the cellars, and if we're going to get back into proper form, we need some girls who haven't an idea what we're actually going to do to them, or not a proper one,"
"Hmmm.... interesting. I have a clear plan in mind... we must kidnap two more girls anyway, we have already tried a test with a boy and a girl but while the girl did work, the boy didn't. So if we kidnap two random ones in a different area nearby, that'll give us enough time to go to the San. branch in Switzerland, with the twats Reg Entwistle and Phil Graves," Jem said. "Jack, you do it," as Jack entered the room.
"So we'll do the experiments in Switzerland? My brother Klaus was doing research on it once. I can ask him about it," Violet said.
"The machine will need taking down and putting up again, of course. And then we'll need to do some more work on it, it isn't perfect," Jack said. Violet thought about it, tying her hair back. "I'll deal with the machinery, you deal with the girls," she said.
"Deal," Jem said, rather well-spirited now.

"We can talk privately when we're there," Jem said.

Vanna and Nessa glanced. "What is this?" asked Vanna, twiddling Luna’s wand.
"A wand. Must have been stolen and stuffed in your pocket," Nessa said. "6 2 4 4 2," she muttered.
"Huh?" Vanna said.
"Have you not read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix? It's the number for the visitor’s entrance for the Ministry of Magic,"
"Right. Let's see if I can use it. Umm... Wingardium Leviosa!"
"Swish and flick, remember!" Nessa said.
"Swish and Flick. Wingardium Leviosa!"
A sweet moved very slightly.
"I can't do magic with it! It has to be stolen and I didn't win it so any spell won't work,"
"Or maybe you aren't magical enough. Can I try?"
"Why not? If you've got your own wand, of-"
Nessa had successfully grabbed the wand off of Vanna.
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
The sweet twitched.
"We can't do magic with this wand," said Vanna gloomily, taking the wand off Nessa and chucking it deep in the pocket.
"Hey, don't do that!" Nessa said, and went to retrieve it. "It could come in use later,"
"It won't,"
"But it's someone elses property anyway, so we should return it to them if possible,"

"Engorgio!" thus Ginny Weasley, who had put a bat-bogey hex on a doctor yesterday because he was acting as though he was drunk, badly.
The 4 girls reached their normal sizes, and glared at Jem, who still couldn't get Hermiones name right. If looks could kill, Jem was facing 4 nuclear bombs.
"Shunt them in a room for now, I really can't be bothered to start any experiment tonight. After all, we've had a long long journey and some of you must be tired out,"
Jem was now facing more than 100 nuclear bombs.
"We do have to set up the machine anyway," Violet said, glaring at Jem with such a look all the doctors shivered and wanted to hide. She'd be 11 nuclear bombs by herself.

Mike was sitting in a very boring science lesson, thinking of anything apart from electrons and neutrons. Miss Canyon never knew when people weren't paying attention, so long as they're quiet, so it was good breathing space for daydreaming and doodling.
He tried not to notice all of the looks cast in his direction, but they were always there, and rapidly growing, but his glares would have made him a super mass-murderer if looks could kill. However, at least he was away from that darned Kirsty Raynor, who had taken to following him around, looking at him wide-eyed and not even giving Mike time to go to the toilet, even if he did lie about it almost all of the time. This time he was planning to get to any extra-curricular club on the way before Kirsty could get at him.
"But even the teachers seem to glance at me strangely," he wrote later. "It's all because Nessa's disappeared, isn't it, and I'm her brother so they're thinking about her when they look at me. Me and Ness were planning on running away together anyway. Mum and Dad are no use. They only discovered Nessa was missing today, but the kidnapper was seen on CCTV so the police knew about it. They're so dammed busy arguing about Ness now. "It was your fault Vanessa's disappeared because..." yadda yadda yadda, but it was neither of their faults this time, a very very rare occurrence indeed,"

"Well if Nessa and Vanna are missing I still want to find them, the arguments are overflowing and no-one likes them. Well, I still feel like tracking them down, but somehow I know it isn't doing anyone a favour, the criminals could be anywhere by now and I was never any good at reading maps, so I think I'll just see if anyone else I know will have me for the night. I won't be able to sleep in that noise."
Most people said "No," but Mike wasn't surprised at this. Eventually he ended out at Vanna's dad's place. He could actually talk to him and get understanding and a bit of sympathy back.

Vanna and Nessa were trembling as they were led up to the experiments room. There they were strapped into a machine and it was started.
The sensation was weird and hard to describe. But it didn't end there. They were taken to more machinery, and were injected with a range of substances.
Then they were led away back to the room they were living in. The next day when Emma and Marina were taken for experiments, Nessa found a way to escape. But only one person could take it.

Nessa watched the tunnell close up behind her, and hoped Vanna knew what she was doing.
Vanna, meanwhile, was now walking as fast and steadily as possible away from the San.
"So where am I now?" the girl thought.

She decided to go in, she still hadn't read the sign. But she could not get in, so she decided to visit the house next door.
"Who are you?" asked Joey cautiously - she didn't recognise the girl, but then she never had seen her.
"Vanessa Avery," Vanna said nervously. "Vanna for short,"
"Really? You'd best come in, then. I know pretty much everything, and not much of it is nice. By the way, I'm Joey Maynard. Oh, have you read any of my books?"
"Huh?" said Vanna, as she stepped across the doorway and looked around.
"My writing name's Josephine M. Bettany," Joey said.
"I love your books. My Grandmother was at school with you! She told me about some of your exploits, like when you jumped into the lake, and when you floured some other girls hair in the middle of the night,"
"Oh, yes, I was a wicked girl, even as a sub-prefect! Who is your grandmother?"
"You knew her as Amy Stevens,"
"Okay. Want some tea? Hilda and Nell are coming," Joey said. "With Gwynneth as well, but everyone else knows her as Matey,"
"Right,"
"Jack shouldn't come, but if you hear a key in the lock, run and hide in the garden somewhere, that okay with you?" Joey said. Vanna nodded in agreement.
Then 3 women came in.
"Hi Hilda, Nell, and Matey! How you doing?" Joey said.
"The correct grammar is "How are you doing?"" the one wearing glasses said laughingly. "I still wish I still didn't have to wear glasses, like it was until Len had Harry. And who is this young lady?"

"But Jack'll find out about it if you shelter anyone, won't the doctors soon find out she's missing? So what is going to happen?"
"I can't get on to the police or anyone in case Jack finds out, he's put eavesdropping devices on all the phones on the platz and no-one can go in or out now, unfortunately they're quarantining the whole place and we can't send any mail unless it's school buisness. We'll have to disguise her as a Chalet School girl. We'll have to cut off her hair, for sure,"
"But they'll still notice her. How do we disguise her properly?"
"How did you think I've kept my hair black all these years?" laughed Joey.
Hilda stared. Matey spoke over Nells "Never!"
"But- Nell, quiet!- what do we do about all the rest? Holidays, and fees and all the rest of it?"
There was a key in the lock. Vanna sped off through the house into the gardens. Looking for a place to hide she went into a thorn bush so she could hear the conversation inside.
"Jack, what's up?"
"The ceiling," he said gloomily. "All the girls escaped today, I don't know what's going to happen if they ever manage to get to the police. It's been ages since I had a really good sleep. I'll get the door on the way,"
"No, that could be Jeanne or Sarah. I invited them both but they said they had to do something important, you know, so you get all the sleep in the world,"
Joey went to open the door. On the doorstep were 3 girls who looked like they'd been dragged backwards through all the bushes in the world.

First day of term today! Glad not to have to do any more Geography.

Nessa, Emma and Marina stumbled through the door, and were bade into the garden without further ado.
"Boo,"
"Vanna, it has to be you,"
"Why are you lot out in the garden anyway? I heard Jack Maynard was going to bed,"
"Yes, but doctors come here all the time, Mrs. Maynard said."
"She's Josephine M. Bettany,"
Nessa and Marina looked impressed, but Emma didn't.
"Her? The one that writes idiotic stuff that's 5 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 years old and that is cheap and lousy? All that codswallop about "community" and I have one question for her: Why doesn't she write proper books like Harry Potter?"
"Well that's how you feel,"
"Can't you tell when I'm kidding? That's what Bethany said, the horrendous b****"
The others looked even more shocked at this.
"It's a gate in the fence,"
"Yeah, dare you to go through it!" Marina said.
Emma went through it and back and said to Vanna, "Dare you to run through the gate as fast and far as you can, and back,"
Vanna went happily, and noted that one of the girls had looked straight at her at one point, but wasn't too bothered by this.
"Dare you to run all the way around the outline of the place,"
Nessa hung back a bit, but then galloped right around the area. Then she dared Emma to loop the building closely. Emma did, but was seen by a Mistress where the others couldn't see.

Miss Annersley was indeed coming, with Matey, Nell, Vanna, Nessa, and Marina, still sporting a bit of bush behind her ear.
"We've got to temporarily accommodate these 4 until we can ship them away to somewhere where they can contact the police cause no teachers can go anywhere but pupils can go home. End of term is in two weeks, so they'll go then,"
And it had to be like that.

Warm baths and hot milk were the order of the day. Emma objected to having any hot milk, and Matey nearly had to force it down the girls throat. Vanna and Marina half objected, but then realized it was going in one way or another. Nessa just drank through the whole lot as soon as it was given to her.
"Wait, how come there's no-one else in this dorm?" asked Emma.
"Idiot! They 'ad ta shove us in an unused dorm. Honestly!" said Marina.
A big pillow-fight ensued.

The arguments went on and on and Mike was running away to find his sister that night. They were in France at that time, and Mike had the strangest feeling his sister was nearer to here than at home. Even a holiday never stopped them arguing, and so he left, and even then he wasn't noticed missing at that time. His note was discovered by the pair a week later, and it was basically "Grow up, split apart/resolve your differences and stop arguing or you'll never see me or Nessa again. Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Not one of the girls slept that night. No-one understood it, but they had a go anyway.
"Matron said we'd be asleep by now! She must have got the dosage wrong or something,"
"Or the cups weren't properly washed and contained summut like Viagra,"
"Or maybe it's the substances those doctors injected us with,"
"But we slept when that happened, so it could just be the cocktail of that and something we ate or drank. Where are you going?"
"Toilet," Vanna said, and went.
Vanna came back with a stack of cards.
"Old Maid, anyone?"
They had a joyful game of Old Maid, Pig, Blackjack, Cheat, and anything else that came to their minds. (and mine)
The effects would have lasted a week if they hadn't had any more cocktail business, but there was, so it was ages to wait for a full week where the cocktail didn't mix inside them.

The 4 had not properly mixed in with the others when the end of term came and they were waiting for that train. Some of the others had been cold against the four.
"They're just jealous," said another.
"So they want to be shrunk by magic, all the fear and uncertainty, do they? And all those experiments done on them?" said Vanna.
"No, they haven't even considered that. But you've had lots of attention in the press and they want that attention for themselves,"
"But lots of people just stare at us, and it's annoying. I can't even say 'Hello' to someone without them, or someone else staring. Bloody hell, if they want that, fine by me!" Emma said. "Oi everyone! Mavis is..." and Emma made up a story. People started to stare at Mavis and her crew instead, and she loved it for a while, but then started to hate it, and showed too many signs of it, that meant Emma gave the truth of the matter and so the girls stopped staring just as the end of term ended.

The train journey was rather boring, and the train went from Switzerland to Paris. None of the four girls could go any further than that, for passport reasons.
There weren't any staff around, just prefects, and they couldn't help the 4 girls, who decided to roam Paris for a while.
They met Mike by the Eiffel Tower.
"Nessa, Vanna, what the flip are you doing here?"

And to complete the scene, a bickering couple entered the scene.
"Oh, crap," Mike said.
"Why are you and mother and father in France, anyway?" asked Nessa.
"Shh, they'll spot us!"
"Who cares? I need a passport anyway or I'll never get out of France. No damage need be done, they'll never leave France without us. Wand,"
"What the hell are you on about with the word wand? You 3, behind this hedge,"
Vanna, Emma, and Marina, who still retained bush behind the ear, went behind the hedge.
"So what do you mean by wand?"
"This wand," and Nessa produced Lunas wand.
"But we can't do anything with it," said Vanna.
"Well, I still say that it could be because the wand was shrunk so magic couldn't be done as well,"
"We should have a go at magic now," said Mike.
Nessa said "Accio" and there was a tiny twitch from a flower, but nothing happened.
Emma had not read Harry Potter, so copied Nessa.
Marina did a bat-bogey jinx, but nothing happened. Vanna had no success with "Wingardium Leviosa" either.
Mike had the most success with the wand, it was obvious when Vanna was dangling from her ankle in thin air after Mike had pointed the wand at her. Nessa and Marina were giggling, but Emma was looking scared.
"Don't worry, it's just a spell in a HP book. I went to secret magic classes as well. The leader was Miss Lovegood and she let us borrow her wand. This wand is remarkably like it, isn't it?"
Emma gaped soundlessly.
"Oh, 'eck, I've forgotten the counter-spell," Mike said.
"To Levicorpus? Liberacorpus!" said Marina.
Mike got Vanna down.
"So what do we do now?" asked Nessa, Emma was still gaping like a codfish.
"Isn't it obvious? He shrinks us and hides us on his person, then he finds his parents, they go home to England, then he can de-shrink us later and we can announce we're alright," Marina said.
Mike looked very reluctant.

The 4 girls managed to convince Mike, eventually.
It wasn't that good in Mikes pocket either. Nessa wondered why it smelt so bad in there.
Mike had no problem finding his parents again (their arguments reached Russia, if not the top of the Eiffel tower)
"Micheal. You're safe," his mother said.
"I f***ing well know that," he replied coolly.
"There's no need to take that tone," his mother said.
"And?"
"Graeme, talk to him,"
"Fight your own battles. It's not my business," Mikes father said.
And the argument went on and on.
"You both are really pugnacious, aren't you?"
They glared at him. "What do you mean by that?" came the icy tones of his mothers.
"Pugnacious adj.: eager or quick to argue, quarrel, or fight.

The only reason people knew she'd disappeared was through witness accounts. But did you notice something? The house was clean and tidy most of the time, cooking was done, and yet neither of you did anything about it,"
The parents looked right at eachother.

"Mike, your magic classes have been discontinued," said his mother.
They were on a ferry going back to England and Mikes parents were desperately trying not to argue, so they stayed apart most of the time.
"I wonder why that was," he said sarcastically.

Mikes mum disapproved of Miss Lovegood, with her dirty blonde hair, dreamy voice and loving of unusual creatures.
"Shame. Can't get away from the rowing," he said, gloomily.
"Don't take that tone," she said.
"Yeah, wha'ever. I'm gonna find dad,"
"Your manners,"
"Wha' abou' 'em?"
"Obtain some more,"
"Ya never bothered til now, ya can' jus' suddenly turn now,"

The rest of the journey home was rather peaceful, and Mike secreted himself in a nearby woodland to return the girls to normal size. The girls ended up having a long chat, when someone passed by.
"So did I drop my wand about here, then?"
"Yes,"
"Who's that?" called Luna.
"Hi Miss Lovegood. You dropped your wand here. Here it is," and Mike threw the wand to her. She caught it.
"Thanks," She said, and went on her way.
The girls and Mike navigated out of the woodland.
"What do we do now?" asked Emma.
"What do you think when there's a police station under your nose?! They want to find us, so we should go to them,"

It was June, and everything was going swimmingly, except for the massive croud Vanna and Nessa had to deal with at school, asking a million questions. The pair never answered, they just said "If you want to know, get kidnapped yourselves,"
They and Emma and Marina had become mates and all now went to Miss Lovegoods magic lessons.
The doctors had been locked up in azkaban.
The story-book characters in alliance with the doctors had been locked up in their books.
The dementors had taken to pursue Luna instead of Harry for a change. The magic class learnt to conjure a patronus that week.
Voldemort had mouldy warts. He decided to marry Bellatrix, and introduce Quirrel to Narcissa, who dumped Lucius like a sack of dung.
Draco was now Draca, and married Goyle. Crabbe was very dissappointed until directed to Pansy Parkinson.
Vanna and Nessa were about to start at the Chalet School, which was being guarded by Death Eaters, Dragons, and Charlie Weasley.
Percy was still being a prat until Remus and Nymphadora had turned him into a house-elf.
Finally, Mario and Luigi had been defeated by Bowser, the world prefered Bowser.

Really enjoyed this, Midge, even though I only understood about half of it! :lol: :roll:

May have something to do with the fact that I've neither read any of the Harry Potter books or seen any of the films. But I don't think that's the only reason.
