Dear Mum and Dad, How are you? Sorry about my handwriting, but I've only an hour and so much to say. Guess what? I am at school with Jenny in the Chalet School! Yes Dad, that school you said you'd never be able to afford in a month of Sundays. St. Hilda's burnt down the night before we arrived and they took us here instead. Isn't it ace? Now you won't need to ask Jenny's Dad to arrange for me to be allowed visit her on my midterm. We will be together for the whole year. When Jenny's Dad visited to bring her to the San to see her Mother, he said if we still want it when St Hilda's is rebuilt he'll transfer Jenny. Her Dad didn't think it was possible for two English speaking schools to be in the same area and as only The Chalet School is connected with the San and he never thought to ask. I went with Jenny to see her Mum too. She was having what they called a good day. She hasn't had one in a while so that's why Jenny was allowed out of school just after we'd returned. Poor Jenny isn't allowed see her Mum on her bad days. Isn't that awful Mum? This school is strange. We have to speak French two days a week and German too and they fine us if we forget. And we have no hot water in the morning and we get fined if we are caught speaking slang. The food is nice apart from breakfast which they call something weird here. Jenny says it is the German for breakfast because the breakfast food is German too. That means no cereals or sausages. All of us St Hilda's had a special meeting. The Head said she'd be writing to all our parents to explain the situation, but she needed our addresses because they got burnt in the fire. Anna P.S. Dad Jenny says her Dad said to tell me to tell you that you shouldn't worry about fees, because we'll continue to pay St. Hilda's fees. Jenny thinks its not fair and she should be allowed pay St. Hilda's fees too because then her Dad could increase her pocket money because he is always saying he can't afford to. |

Ooh, it'll be interesting to see Feud from a different point of view. Thanks mouse! |

Love the idea of Jenny wanting to transfer to St Hilda's rather than the other way round! Thanks Mouse. |

A lovely short drabble which gives a student view of Feud. |

I love this perspective of the temporary merger - so rare and so surprisingly pleasing to see acknowledgement that the CS wasn't perfect for everyone! |
