Characters:

Emerence Hope – Antipodean hell-raiser.

Viola Lucy – Mary-Lou’s faithful sidekick. Has cleaned up vomit once too often.

Margot Maynard – Youngest of the infamous Maynard triplets, otherwise known as the “Three Disgraces”

Biddy O’Ryan – Ravishing adventuress. Masquerading as a schoolteacher until the next millionaire comes along.

Mary-Lou Trelawney – Future alcoholic. Nicknamed Horny Trelawney for her nocturnal escapades with local ski instructors.

“Quick, Emmy quick! Chug it!”

Mary-Lou had heard the clink of bottles and was staggering up the slope as hard as she could go. Emmy necked back the rest of the bottle of champagne and flung it into the trees. “Lightweight!” she crowed triumphantly at Margot who had yet to finish her bottle.

“Girls! What have I told you about alcohol?!” slurred Mary-Lou.

“Always let you have first swig,” they chorused sulkily.

“Exactly! Now hand it over.” A short and undignified tussle ensued between Emerence and Mary-Lou over a magnum of vodka which only ended when the bottle flew out of their combined grasp and began to roll down the hill. In a wild attempt to save the bottle from disaster they gave chase at full tilt, only stopping when the shadow of a tall, lean, broad shouldered and long legged figure crossed their path. Gliding to a halt, the man pulled out a silver flask and offered it to them with a wink. “Ladies,” he drawled in a patrician tone, “I don’t suppose you can point me in the direction of Klosters?”

“Err…errr…” was all that Emerence managed to stammer out before, overcome by a rush of teenage lust (and enough champagne to sink a battleship) she fainted clean away. Mary-Lou took the full weight of Emerence’s drunken body in her not inconsiderable chest and plummeted to the ground.

Biddy had her eyes keenly peeled for possible victims. Spotting the incident, she shook out the raven black hair that rippled in Pre-Raphaelite abundance over her shoulders, slicked on some crimson lipgloss, unzipped her jacket to reveal the lush curves of her ravishing bosom and mentally congratulated herself for choosing to wear her most flattering ski suit today. Ski-ing over with an extra swish of her hips (and lowering the zipper another inch or two as she went), she reached the group.

“Rupert, darling,” she purred. “Schoolgirls still dropping at your feet? Why, I haven’t seen you since that weekend in Sydney. Shall we go and...renew our acquaintance?”

As they ski-ed away together, Vi dealt Emerence a brisk slap which brought her back to consciousness. Margot, who had been drowning her sorrows with the rest of the champagne following yet another “cosy” chat with Joey earlier in the day, charged down upon them. ” ~#!* That was him, wasn’t it?! He’s scrummy! I can’t believe you $~!#+”% didn’t call me over!!”

Ignoring the ranting Margot, Vi knelt down next to Mary-Lou. With a practised heave of the prone body she plonked Mary-Lou onto her back.

She lay there, still, a faint shade of green and to all appearance, dead drunk!

Horny Trelawney - brilliant    !

I think Jilly Cooper may actually be a secret fan of GO books: there are a lot of puns in her book about a school (the name of which totally escapes me) about "Calorie Towers", which make me laugh  .

That was great! I'll never be able to read about M-L again without calling her "horny" in my mind! Thanks, Lexi.
