It kept popping into my head at work and wouldn't go away. (You can tell it was a slow day!) Rhyming is not my strong point. The Chalet School girls they went swimming
And all was fine in the beginning
Until Mary Lou decided to stand out
She swam off with a loud shout
“I’m going to swim out to sea
As nobody is a better swimmer then me”
She gave the school quite a fright
As she quickly disappeared from sight
The girls they were dismayed
Most fell to their knees and prayed
The others they cried
For they thought she had died
But no such luck was to be had
The staff were quite mad
When they found Mary Lou safe and sound
Although scantily clad.
The Chalet School staff they went swimming
And all was fine in the beginning
Until Miss Wilson got stuck
And uttered an unladylike “Oh F**k!
I’m going to need help coming back in”
Now the staff with open mouths stared
Not that Miss Wilson cared
She was to busy untangling her limb
From the seaweed in which it was snared
Hilda went out to her aid
For all the difference she made
As she reached her friends side
They were caught by the tide
And nearly died.
The two mistresses got quite a scare
And Miss Annersley decreed then and there
We are subject to a swimming ban
Until I get the necessary advice from a man.
Now no more does the school go swimming
Whether for recreational use or for thinning
Miss Wilmot can be heard to moan
“I’ll forever be 10 stone! Why can’t I go swimming?
I’m sure it’s good for thinning.”
The girls on the other hand were quiet
They neither cared about swimming for fitness or diets
Their fun had been ended
So Mary Lou they apprehended
She was taken down a peg or three
When all the girls sent her to Coventry.
