Whatever happened to Sophie Hamel?

Sophie Hamel was enjoying a stroll through the streets of Innsbruck. She was looking great and was very happy, even though she had never married nor had children. Her father owned a huge drapery business, she kept house for him (well, told the servants what to do) and she was given a generous allowance to spend on clothes and chocolate and handbags and ooh, anything she wanted really. For a second, as she paused on the threshold of the most exclusive chocolate shop in Innsbruck, she felt sorry for her childhood friend, Jo Bettany, now Jo Maynard and the mother of eleven children. Eleven! Even though Jo had landed Dr Jack, who was decidedly fanciable, Sophie did not envy her. She had looked very tired at the Reunion weekend!

Sophie suddenly noticed some exquisite-looking chocolates in the very middle of the window. She was just leaning over for a closer look when the door opened and a man came out.

“Gruss Gott, Fraulein,” he said, politely. Sophie noted how gorgeous he was. He looked like that Hollywood actor she had always fancied. Phwoar! she thought.

“Gruss Gott,” she replied, beaming back. He paused, them made a dash to the nearby flower stall and purchased the largest and most gorgeous flowers there and thrust them into her arms. Sophie thanked him prettily without the slightest hint of embarrassment. This was an everyday occurrence after all. She wondered how she was going to give him the brush off. It was tiresome to be a magnet to so many men!

“Thank you, mein Herr, but I’m afraid I must go,” she said, regretfully. He was rather handsome.

“Please allow me to make you a present of some of my most delicious chocolates,” he said, smiling. He really was most attractive, for a second she nearly didn’t focus on the important thing.

“Wait a second – your chocolates?” she paused. “You mean –”

“Yes, my dear, I am a chocolatier,” he replied, “That is when I am not presiding over my other multi-millionaire business empires or playing with kittens or helping orphans or any of the other worthy things I do, whilst leaving a lot of spare time for shopping and generally spoiling my wife,” he took her hand, “My wife to be.”

They were married within the week. Several old Chaletians attended the wedding and expressed envy. Sophie and her husband lived in the lap of luxury for their rest of their long and happy lives.

Very Happy

Lucky lucky Sophie. Very Happy

Somehow I never thought of her as a man magnet. Guess there is more hidden under those Rubenesque curves than EBD thought possible!

That's lovely, Mia! I always felt sorry for poor Sophie because all EBD ever said about her after Reunion was about her weight problems - which I can definitely sympathise with!

Maybe I could find a chocolatier...

I start this week hopefully! Very Happy
For anyone who's wondering what I'm on about this is a new thing I'm starting - a volunteering job with the GSPCA - resocialising (ie playing with!) very young cats and kittens in the city cattery. Very Happy
