Dr Stephen Maynard was thrilling with excitement. This birth would be the culmination of his medical career, putting him on the map forever. It was the icing on the cake that he was trying such an important breakthrough on a member of his own family.

“It'll soon be over,” the midwife assured her anxious patient, as Stephen readied the equipment for the Caesarian operation.

Finally the baby was lifted from the womb, and Stephen passed it to his patient.

“Congratulations, Mike!” he said, as the proud father had his abdomen stiched.
