This idea came to me yesterday. I'll leave you to guess who is talking!

I have a plan to take over the world. I think I’ll start small though and start with the Chalet School. I can’t remember who said the quote but wasn’t the saying something about starting something small and then ending up with something big?

I started at the Chalet School as a mere Middle. I already had a vague idea of taking over the place but I decided just to blend into the background at first.

The first thing I decided to get rid of was the Guides. The Guides was all about thinking about others and I didn’t like this idea. I preferred to think about me, me, me!

Hmmm. I immediately thought of OOAOML. Was she a middle when she started?

#11:  Author: ChairLocation: Rochester, Kent, England PostPosted: Wed Nov 16, 2005 1:32 pm

Embarassed Sorry. It was Mary-Lou and she did start as a Junior. I was just checking everyone was paying attention, seriously!

*Chair looks around very innocently*.

There is more of this to come. I am planning on writing some more later today.

I would like to offer my thanks to Ally, who has helped me with the next section.

While I was at the Chalet School on St Briavels’ Island, I started working out my plan on how to get rid of the Guides.

I never liked the Guides. I just saw it as extra time for everyone to spend time paying attention to the teachers instead of everyone paying attention to me.

I started airing my views that I didn’t think Guides was such a good idea. My friends all took my word for it and word spread.

When we moved to the Oberland, the Guides had stopped. A reason was never given, but they just stopped having Guides. I was really, really happy! My plan was starting to take shape! People were starting to do as I said!

Thanks for your comments, everyone. I really appreciate them.

I loved playing lacrosse at the Chalet School. For a short while, you had the ball to yourself and no-one else had the ball.

In the first term of being a Senior, Emerence tobogganed into me. They thought at first that I would never be able to walk again.

I liked the fact that everyone was concerned about me but I didn’t want to lie around doing nothing for too long. Someone else might try and take over The Gang!

I amazed the doctors with my speedy recovery. I wanted to get back to being in charge as soon as possible.

I was told that I wouldn’t be able to play lacrosse or any other games due to my injury.

As I wasn’t allowed to play lacrosse, and it wasn’t my favourite sport, I got the Chalet School to drop the sport. How dare everyone else play my favourite sport when I wasn’t allowed to play it?

Here's the next section. The plot bunny has been biting and I have an idea of how this drabble might end. You will all have to wait though!

When I was a prefect, there was a new teacher, Miss Ferrars. I tried being my usual friendly self to her, but she didn’t like me. I was mad at the thought of this! How could anyone not like me! There is nothing to dislike about me!

I kept on trying to get Miss Ferrars to see my point of view, but this wouldn’t work. I decided that it was time for revenge. She needed to be taught a lesson for not liking me!

At halfterm, I decided to pull her arm so I could pretend that I was saving her from going too near to the edge. To my delight, the edge came off so it looked even more like an accident! Miss Ferrars was forced to like me after that!

Borrowing a quote from Vikki, I will post some more of the story when I have written it! I have also been taking lessons in being nasty from reading the archives!

#48:  Author: ChairLocation: Rochester, Kent, England PostPosted: Wed Dec 07, 2005 7:53 pm

I'm sorry to spree. This drabble is nearing its end. I hope this isn't getting boring!

There were rumours going around that Sybil was to be the next Head Girl. Another person who was a likely candidate was Vi Lucy.

I couldn’t understand how anyone could be picked over me! I’m the best at everything! Vi might be my best friend, but when it comes to being the best, I should be picked all the time!

I started making comments here and there and making people see Sybil and Vi in a bad light.

Finally, I was told I was going to be Head Girl! I tried to act shocked but I had always known that I was the only real candidate. Who else could they pick than the perfect Mary-Lou!

#49:  Author: LesleyLocation: Allhallows, Kent PostPosted: Wed Dec 07, 2005 8:27 pm

Nasty person! Twisted Evil Vi Lucy would have made just as good a Head Girl - as for poor Sybil - she had no chance EBD hated her!

Thanks Claire.

#51:  Author: Alison HLocation: Manchester PostPosted: Wed Dec 07, 2005 10:03 pm

Poor Vi! Julie and Betsy both got to be Head Girl but she never stood a chance, did she?!

#52:  Author: MichelleLocation: Near London PostPosted: Wed Dec 07, 2005 11:30 pm

I always liked OOAO, but I might like this story even more! She's a good character in some ways, but she is verging on perfection, which I don't like in a fictional character.

Sybil should have been Head Girl. Betsy did a pretty god job in the end, but wasn't there a book where all the prefects considered Sybs to be one of them, even though she wasn't, and went to the Head to ask that she be made one?

Mary-Lou wasn't a bad Head Girl, but I think she might have confused the term with either "Head Mistress" or "Head of the Universe".

I wonder what Vi really thought about OOAO. Verity-Anne lived with her, so she must have realised the truth, but Mary-Lou probably kept her well-drugged up, so Verity looked like a mooner, and Mary-Lou looked like a saint for helping her out all the time.

I'm really sorry I haven't updated recently, and this isn't an update now. RL is really tough at the moment and I don't feel up to writing the 2 endings.

My cat, Simba has been getting more and more poorly over time and yesterday my Dad took her to the vet to have her put her down. I do know that it was the best thing for her, but it's extra hard having happened just before Christmas. It's hard not to see her around the house and it is going to take some getting used to.

This is the 1st ending I have written. I hope it isn't too upsetting to read. Thank you all for the comments about my cat. I really appreciated them. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write this 1st ending as well. I have never tried to write an emotional scene before, so it probably sounds very bad. I had a try though:

After my mother died, it made me reassess my life. All this time, the only thing I had been concerned about was myself.

I had always loved my Mum, but I never fully appreciated her until when she was very ill. I started to realise what really mattered in life.

One of the important things to me is family. Family can take any shape or form – it doesn’t just have to mean the people who are related to me. Aunt Joey isn’t a relation but she and her family are very special to me.

The Chalet School is also very dear to my heart. The staff have always encouraged me. They supported us when we needed it the most and they praised our achievements.

Another thing that is important is friends. The members of ‘The Gang’ were always loyal to me and they were always very good friends. I wish I had appreciated the others more at the time. I am now writing to each member to tell them how much I appreciate their friendship.

I have always thought of myself all the time. Now, I realise that other people matter. I need to think of others and put them before myself. It might not always be easy but all I can do is try my best.

#71:  Author: Alison HLocation: Manchester PostPosted: Fri Dec 30, 2005 6:09 pm

Thanks Clare. Hope you are feeling better.

Mary-Lou never really knew her dad - I never liked the sound of Professor Trelawney, abandoning his wife and young child and elderly mother to go off chasing butterflies! - so I'm glad that she realised that her mother and friends were so important.

#75:  Author: patmacLocation: Yorkshire England PostPosted: Tue Jan 03, 2006 8:10 am

I've just read this right through and it made me chuckle.

I do love the way you explain why Guides and Lacrosse were dropped - I just thought EBD forgot them Rolling Eyes . this is a much more likely explanation.

I'm sorry about Simba. It is always upsetting to lose a pet like that, even though you know it is the right thing to do.

It was so sad that ML only came to her senses after her mother died in this ending. I did like this phrase.
Quote:
Family can take any shape or form – it doesn’t just have to mean the people who are related to me.

It is so true. Thank you Clare. I'm looking forward to the second ending.

I'm sorry I have taken so long to finish this. Embarassed I sent this to Ally but she didn't receive it. I thought she might be busy. As she has been so kind as to check over the rest, I didn't want to ask someone else to check it. I sent it again though a few days ago and this is the final result!

I'm afraid it's not a very good ending but as this is St Clare's House, I didn't want this drabble to have a sad ending. Thank you all so much for reading this!

During my year at St Mildred’s, I had realised there was no leadership in Archaeology. I decided to become a History lecturer instead.

When I left St Mildred’s, I went to Oxford. I made sure that everyone knew who I was and I got myself elected president of the Archaeology Society within the 1st term. The reason was because everyone realised what a great person I was and that is why I should be the person in charge.

When I started lecturing, I got myself elected on the local council. I also found time to be part of the debating society. Of course, my team always won! At the end of the day, who can win an argument against me? I am always right!
