My daughter does not like it when I do not send messages using short forms.
So this is for her.

Jo turned to her SLOC AKA Jack in RL and said “BTW do you know that one of the FAQ put on the CBB is, which girl is young Dr. Brown interested in? IMHBCO I believe it is OOAO.
Jack gave VBEG which FYI was OOC and said AFAIK it is not OOAO. AAMOF it is a CS girl.”
Jo said, ‘IMHO I wish it was not one of our girls IYKWIM . OTOH – on the other hand it would keep our girls closer. Where are they BTW and why are you ROTFLASCIIHO ? The children are with FOCS and the GGBP for your book.. And it is not an outsider but NAFAIK . They keep on changing every week. ATM it is You.”

Help please come back and give an explanation in traditional English. I understood the first bit but got lost when Jack replied.

PaulineS
Here it is with full forms.

Jo turned to her SLOC - (solid lump of comfort) AKA(also known as ) JAck in RL (real life) and said “BTW – (by the way) do you know that One of the (FAQ )– frequently asked questions put on the CBB – (Chaletian Bulletin Board) is, which girl is young Dr. Brown interested in? IMHBCO –( in my humble but correct opinion) I believe it is OOAO.( One and only one)
JAck gave VBEG – (very big evil grin) which FYI – (for your information) was OOC – (out of character) and said AFAIK – (as far as I know) it is not OOAO. AAMOF – (as a matter of fact) I will let you know ASAP – (as soon as possible.”)
IMHO – (in my humble/honest opinion) I wish it was not one of our girls IYKWIM – (if you know what I mean.) OTOH – (on the other hand) it would keep our girls closer. Where are they BTW and why are you ROTFLASCIIHO –( rolling on the floor laughing and scaring the cat if I had one?”)
The children are with FOCS – (Friends of the Chalet School) and the GGBP – (Girls Gone By Publishers). And it is not a CS girl NAFAIK – (not as far as I know). They keep on changing every week. ATM – (at the moment) it is You.”

Phew thanks for the translation Mohini. I have been scratching my head all morning over the ROTFLASCIIHO
one. I got as far as ROTFLA and then came to a grinding halt. A fun drabble thankyou.

Thank you for the explanation. I should have gone to the drabble abbreviation page, but did not recognise them as part of CS vocabulary rather then text speak! I must brush up my abbreviations.
I was a fascinating drabble.

Thanks. that was fantastic. Really like the transalation as I couldn't work out ROTFLASCIIHO. I could roughly work out everything else. I love what it's short for though

As I don't have a cat (but would like to get one), may I borrow ROTFLASCIIHO until I do?

Love it - I can just see Joey taking to txtspk with utterly misdirected aplomb!

I seem to be out of the text speak loop, only managed to understand the CBB abbreviations of SLOC and...erm CBB. :o

I confess.I had to look up all the abbreviations. And even now I cannot unravel them withoutt he key.
Thanks for the comments.

Now why did I not think of Joey saying the last sentnce instead of Jack?
Maybe my mind is pure.

This is great thanks Mohini, amazing how many abbreviations are used isn't it. ROTFLASCIIHO really had me stumped so I'm glad you put the translation.
