To LizzieC with love from Santa!

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
Even Evvy and Corney were snuggled in bed,
Dreams of fig leaves and sweets filling their head.
In the dormy next door Violet Allison slept,
Imagining Lapland where the presents were kept.
Tucked up snugly for fear of catching a cold,
Joey Bettany planned tales of old.
Even the Head, full of Christmas cheer,
Had left out for Santa one whiskey, one beer.
None saw Matey drink it, having downstairs skulked,
With heartfelt thanks that no-one had sulked
Because she decreed where stockings must go,
So that Santa could find them and fill them just so.
While up in the sky, from a sleigh bathed in light,
Came a joyous shout;
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
