It's time for our yearly Nativity Play.
I'm sure it will go over fantastic'ly.
The middles will all behave angelic'ly.
Nobody's halo will stick to her hair.
Nobody's robe will rip loose on the stair.
We're confident no one will muddle her lines.
Once unsteady helmets have better designs.
Life-changing scenes will go without a hitch.
Poor shepherds will find that their lives are quite rich.
St. Joseph won't "dash in half-way through the verse."
Baby angels won't order themselves in reverse.
Madonna and baby are perfectly cast,
And Aunt Joey's script is again unsurpassed,
But we have a problem. Plato isn't well,
And there's no golden voice to make our chorus gel.
So we're calling on you. Won't you please help us out?
Carol concert ex-per'-i-ence will really count.
Between that and the magic that graces the night
We're sure 'Stille Nacht' will inspire and delight,
And 'Adeste Fideles' is always one song
That shows the most hardened just where they've gone wrong.
We know you can do it. We're counting on you.
We'll expect you tomorrow at quarter past two.
