This is another drabble that has been written by my SLOC. Joey's Nightmare Why didn't I stop at eight children as everyone suggested? I mean 22 children! What was I thinking?! Was it some sort of matriarchal instinct in me to keep going past 8? And what sort of a husband leaves a wife and 8 children in England and go gallivanting off to Switzerland to set up a sanatorium? What was he thinking? Dr Maynard, what was going through your mind? Did you not consider the chaos you'd leave behind?? (Wiping tears from her eyes and sniffing loudly) I mean I don't mind having prim and proper girls names suitable for enrolling in the Chalet School, but it would have been nice to have a little Moonbeam or Fifi Tinkerbell running around the place. Why me? (Tears streaming down her face) I mean just once not having to adhere to jolly good, spiffing or dash it all adventures in crinoline skirts and sensible shoes. Hang on why is the cupboard door ajar? (Swinging back the door on its creaking hinges). Otto von Bent Dryer what are you doing in the cupboard in my boudoir? I sought you'd nezer notise me in here. After all it iz a very cozy cupboard. (A knocking at the door to Joey's boudoir interrupts Otto). Excuse me Otto I have to I answer that. (Turning to door) Oh, hello Mother. Erm, let me introduce you to Otto von Bent Dryer (looks around to Otto) Otto! Who gave you permission to turn into a crocodile??? Oh no, it's a dream isn't it, just a darn dream. Jack doesn't want me to not have another child after all! Zzzzzzzzzzzz........................ |
