#1: Joey, her son and a frog Author: Rachel, Posted: Mon May 23, 2005 2:32 pm Joey gazed tenderly down at the rather large green frog that was sat on her son's head. As she turned her head slightly, she caught sight of a beautiful lilac fairy fluttering closer to her. Joey smiled, raising her hand up to allow the fairy somewhere to land. Charles sat quite still, making sure the frog would not tip off from it[s precarious perch. Geoffrey and Phillipa came scampering up to Joey's side, holding out their hands which appeared to be full of flowers. Joey took the flowers in one hand, the other still holding the lilac fairy. Geoffrey and Phillipa sat down quietly next to Charles, regarding the frog solemnly. Joey offered the flowers to the lilac fairy, who took them and fluttered off. Joey sank to the grass beside her children, motioning for them to come closer to her. they sat, waiting for a long time. What they were waiting for was not important, it was the act of waiting itself that was relevant. After some time had elapsed, More children appeared, Cecilia, Felicity and Felix. They were holding hands and appeared to be floating just a little way off the ground. None of their feet were moving, yet they were drawing closer and closer to where the wraiting group sat on the grass. The three floating children came to rest beside Joey, who indicated that they too should sit down, which they did, joining in the waiting. Stephen, Margot, Len and Con were the next group to arrive. They appeared suddenly behind Joey. Joey turned her head, knowing even before she saw them who it would be. She felt no surprise at their sudden arrival, it was as if she had been expecting them in such a manner. Joey was now aware that only one of her children was missing. Only one more befre the group wass complete. She continued waiting, looking around the circle formed by her children sitting together on the grass. Only Mike was still to arrive. As Joey turned her head this way and that, looking at ten of her eleven children, she heard a noise.
BRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG
Groggily, Joey switched off the alarm clock and rubbed her eyes.
