"Who could it have been?"

Joey was clearly much distressed. Jack left the room and returned with a steaming hot cup of tea.

"Drink this dearest, it'll make you feel better!"

joey smiled up at her husband, what would she do without him? She drank the tea quickly and it was not ten minutes until she had slipped away to the land of nod. As Jack carried her upstairs, he made a mental note to himself to wait until she was in bed before he dosed his wife next time. He smoothed the lime green sheets and plumped up her cream pillow, then quietly he left the room.

With Joey out of the way, he was free to worry about the problem at hand. He had not suspected that there was anyone whom he could not trust on the platz or he would have kept joeys hoarde of emeralds and pearls more safe. He was just settling down to think when he heard the thundering of footsteps through the hall.

He stood up abruptly, as his eldest daughter came running into the room. Her cheeks were flushed red with excitement. he hoped he would not have to give out two doses tonight.

"Papa", exclaimed Len, "I have found the solution to our problem! Well it wasn't really me it was bruno actually. He led me to them."

her father looked at her sceptically, mentally calculating the dosage to give her.

"Do you mind if they come in?"

Before her father answered she was gone. A moment later she returned, with an attractive young woman with red hair. She was wearing a purple dress, of an unsuitable length, and pink tights.

"i'm Daphne", she introduced herself.

Len jumped up excitedly, "and this is the star of the show papa", she said dramatically as a large great dane entered the room.

"Scooby Dooby Doo" , proclaimed the said dog.

Joey prodded Hamish gravely.

"Yes, i see. Yes, that might do the trick."

Jack snorted.

"Really jo! as if some lump will make any differnce to our safety!"

Hamish didn't respond. Joey prodded him again.

"Yes Jack perhaps you are right. It doesn't do much does it?"

Jack glared.

"Joey, of course i'm right."

"Yes jack, of course."

Velma sighed audibly. These people had no idea. Why were they not interested in her overly complicated plan involving her robotic dog hamish? these people had no idea of real genius. Her brains would be sadly unnapreciated here. Velma caught Jack staring at her red miniskirt. Pervert, so he was. Instinctively she pulled it down.

Fred tried to jump in here.
"My plans always work! Hamish will be guarding the front, and scooby and shaggy the back"

Jack shuddered, a more scruffy young man than shaggy rogers he was yet to meet, and what a name.

Fred continued undeterred, "And there is a net at the front so if the thief trys to enter he will be caught in the net, and at the back we have mirrors, rope and soap- no robber can withstand that!"

In vain did jack argue the more conservative approach of a security alarm. But for once jo had dug her toes in. Really, thought Jack, this is most unnacceptable, perhaps she needs a dose again.

Jo smiled brightly at her guests, "Why this sounds quite exciting, i can see me getting a book out of this! Its just like being back at school"
she winked cheekily at the gang, " I was a regular fly-paper for adventures at school, always getting into scrapes so i was."

Suddenly a young child ran out with blonde curly hair, clad in a lime green dress.

"Mama, mama!"

"Louisa! come here precious. what are you doing here? you know we insist on instant obedience from you young children. You should be in bed."

and calmly ignoring her daughters protests of monsters under the bed she strode back into the house and firmly tucked louisa in.

She came back out smiling widely. She turned to Velma and said confidentially,

"Thats my youngest louisa, the 20th, a bit of a dissappointment wasn't she jack, after the two sets of quads."

Jack dragged his eyes away from Daphne long enough to nod at his wife.

"of course," joey continued, " i am hoping for quintuplets next but i know thats not very common so i would settle for another set of triplets."

Fred looked completely bewildered, surely this was a mad woman.

"Of course its hard work looking after all these children with only anna, rosli, bette, emma, and joannas help. Good help is so hard to find these days, don't you think?"

"Jack! jack! don't you think it is?"

with some determination jack turned his attention back to his wife. He noticed with some disdain that her earphones were coming undone. Jo now had so much hair that she no longer just had the two coils at the side, but another two at the back of her head as well.

Their chatter was interrupted by a loud yell from inside the house.

Anna came running out, her hands in the air.

"There is a dog! but a stray dog, eating all the food! my lemon biscuits they are ruined! ruined i tell you!"

With a worried look the gang all turned around to try and find scooby. unsurprisingly they couldn't see him. With one accord they all ran into the house.

Her 20th! Goodness. No wonder she needs those scores of people to help her out - sure she still manages to get away without lifting a finger!
